Welcome to Mancat Monday where I’m the Mancat and today in Monday! This is kind of a rant day for us because we’ve been fussing at Facebook since last Friday. It seems that when Friday showed up even though he didn’t bring Old Man WInter, he did bring a truckload of dunces from Facebook.
Facebook all of a sudden thinks our posts are spam and has been removing them and then leaving us the following message…
We did let them know and it looks like they put them back. So, I wanted you to know in case you usually see us on Facebook and visit our blog from there. If we up and disappear from Facebook you will know that they either removed us completely or we decided to be proactive and remove them. We simply don’t have time to dance with idiots.
We did have a few good suggestions from our Facebook friends and one was how we posted the post to Facebook. We actually use a very common business tool called dlvr.it to grab our post and share it everywhere on social media. We’ve removed Facebook from the mix and we’ll see if we still get called spam. We are posting it manually to Facebook for the time being.
I am not loving Facebook either right now, and I’m looking for ways to replace the traffic I get from it because I am tired of having to try so hard. 🙁
Farcebook never gets any of our attention. We use Hootsuite to send everything out, but we still aren’t going to touch Farcebook.
I am not a big fan of Facebook and very seldom put anything on there. We just go to the blogs that we enjoy and we enjoy yours a lot. You all have a wonderful day.
ha! that happenned to me too… two times… and I only posted a video and sent a friend a birthday greeting… seems someone fed the facebook gremlins after midnight…
Wow, guys. FB would not update my status last week. To be honest, I do not like FB at all. I believe that they have become part of the negativity problem. They allow all kinds of negative and immoral comments and posts, but remove yOU? Well, that proves a lot right there! Hugs. Keep being YOU!
We haven’t had that problem yet, Brian, but it sounds very irritating…. I think the problem is that as it is Fakebook, they think everything is fake too and spam it…*covers mouth with paws* ooops…did I really say that, Granny…MOL 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy not spammed Monday 🙂 <3
Facebook is our biggest traffic referral from social media, but is also the least fun and biggest pain in the furry behind. It used to be fun, but when it went public, the fun was sucked out of it. Hope your issues are fixed. Grrr…
We don’t want to have anything to do with Facebook. There are excellent reasons why it was known as FaceBorg*.
*That is a probably now obscure Star Trek, The Next Generation reference. “Resistance is futile!” 🙂
Brian, we don’t use Facebook-much. We have had issues since they first removed Queen Penelope as she was not a person. We mostly go so Mom can see what the grand kiddos and my human brothers are doing as they live so very far away, to read the Canadian humor and repost some of the thing we find. We use the WordPress tool to publish our Blog but we don’t get much traffic to it from there. We don’t use it to get to our furrends either. The feed aggregators are pretty hopeless too–so Mom has a folder on her… Read more »
Facebook can be so irritating! It seems like it is one thing after another with them. We wouldn’t use it if we didn’t feel we had to. I think they’ve got us all right where they want us, unfortunately. Can’t live with ’em, can’t live without ’em. We hope your issue gets resolved. Our biggest one is that no one ever sees what we post, no matter if we try to do all the things they say you should. Oh well, I guess we’ll just keep trying…..
Good for you to let them know of their lunacy. We go through spells of wanting nothing to do with fb, too. Between not seeing so many of our friends posts and so much sad and negative entries combined with political rants and links, we often come away feeling sad and hollow. We’re sure that wasn’t the intent of fb but nothing seems to be changing other than more of the same. Mom spends more time on there eliminating political links than any thing else in an attempt to see more of our friends posts and something, anything, positive. It… Read more »
I may be one of these “rare” people that doesn’t have Facebook, Twitter or a cell phone. I have LinkedIn and a Google+ profile/account. Now I’m really glad I don’t have any of these sights. Glad posts are unspammed. Good Luck.
Oh good grief, Brian! When it’s the weekend, I don’t get on my laptop much, so I rely on FB to find you and other favorite bloggers…or, I just catch up again on Monday! Still, it’s a hassle for your people when the ‘usual’ doesn’t work. I’d heard that FB changed it’s algorythms, but don’t quote me on that!
dood…knot on facebook…never haz been…never will bee… N we can guezz we izn’t missin a thing ~~~~~~ 🙂 ♥♥
Facebook is a bit much and the comments by peeps can be very negative so I don’t read it much. We hardly ever post and I am unsure of some of the peeps on it. Not one of my favourite places.

Brian et al…this is a purrfect sentence
We simply don’t have time to dance with idiots.
We don’t do FB mainly ’cause mom says she doesn’t have time….(she is retired) but mainly because we don’t need the hassle and worry it probably create. and one more techie thing mom would need to learn
Hugs madi
We’re really getting disappointed with Facepoop. It’s disappointing because we started there in 2011 and made so many friends that don’t even see us anymore.
Facepoop is more and more disappointing. We hope your issues get fixed. Purrs
You are quite the handsome mancat, too! I have heard FB has rolled out some new regulations, but I do post my link to my blog manually and it has been okay…paws all crossed it stays that way and I hope it works for you, too!
Gosh that’s never happened to us but if it did – we’d say POOP ON FACEBOOK too! Glad you got them straightened out – how DARE them say your posts were spam. WE PROTEST!
Indignant Hugs, Teddy
I feel bad you are going through that! I think there are glitches because facebook is making some changes. They are putting family/friends posts first and moving business/blogs to the back of the heap. I barely work on my facebook pages and I am glad I don’t!
I am glad they reinstated your post, Brian. I don’t use FB much, mostly to check in on the closed groups I belong to. I find it only shows me what it thinks I should see, not what I want to see. I don’t visit blogs from there, I use Feedly which works well for me.
Mom doesn’t want any part of Facebook, but we are very sorry it is giving you such a hard time. We all KNOW you are not spam and whatever you have to post is always good information.

What the?!*?!
We should definitely follow you on Facebook.
Looking through the comments I can see that I’m not unusual for not being on Facebook. I know lots of people enjoy it, so I hope you continue to be glitch free.
We are sorry you are having problems with Facebook. We don’t use or know enough about Facebook to offer any solutions or help 🙁
the critters in the cottage xo
I hope that fixes the problem.
Sure they allow Russian bots stealing our election in but not our cat friends
And we were going to say: you don’t even look like a Russian bot, Brian!
How dare Facepoo do that to you! I’ll bet they don’t remove all those political bots. Whoa! Just noticed the comment before mine says the same thing. I hope they stop picking on you. They keep changing their rules.
Facebook is more like annoying-book lately. I wish I had some advice for you. I know it is frustrating.
We’re frustrated with Facebook too. Seems like they only wanna show stuff they think we wanna see which isn’t the case.
that sure sounds like a pain and a hassle, Brian. and you look worn out from it all. we hope you have it sorted. we find you from our blogger reader or bookmark 🙂

FB drives me nutso! I’m sorry that it hasn’t been treating you well. I hate their algorithms. I’ll suddenly realize that I haven’t seen anything from a friend recently. When I go to their FB page, they had a bunch of posts that I never saw. I wish that FB would let *us* decide what we want to see.
Oh that can be furr-ustrating when social media gets goofy & glitchy. I think it does that ’cause it was created by humans. If it were created by us kitties it would run purr-fect, of course! Hang in there. Hugs!
Our dad is the only one on Facebook, so we hadn’t realized you are having problems, but we have heard this from other animal bloggers as well. Maybe they think you are Russians! MOL! Good luck getting things straightened out. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
Hmmmmm We’ve been too busy to check facepoop fur a few days. Bet they be doin’ that to us too. We’ll have to have mommy check it out. You be lookin’ mighty comfy. Big hugs
Luv ya’
