Hello there everyone, welcome to my Sister Saturday post. How do you like that title? Adventures in aging isn’t always fun but I’m sure glad to be here for the adventure nonetheless. Nobody really knows how old I am but everyone seems to agree that I’m a golden oldie, even our wonderful Vet calls me Granny MOL! The going guess on my age is 16-18+ so we’ll just go with that for now.
I think I get along pretty good for my age. I can’t really see very well and I can’t hear very well either. I had that yucky ulcer on my right eye which seems to have healed, but my right eye doesn’t look quite right so I hear I’ll be making a trip to see an ophthalmologist soon. I’m pretty good with Vets but I don’t like car rides too much.
I had all of my blood work done on my last Vet visit and it really was one of those good news bad news things. The good news is that almost everything was really good. The bad news? I’m probably diabetic. Seriously, I really didn’t need to hear that right now. The Dad is going to test my glucose levels and if it’s not good I may have to start on the insulin shots. That doesn’t sound overly fun to me but if I have to then that’s what we’ll do, I’m pretty darn good that way.
So, that’s what’s up with me, always something. If you want to pass on some purrs, or prayers or POTP to me I will accept them with a smile. I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
I’m sending purrs your way, Kit! I guess getting old isn’t fun… but it’s better than the alternative!
Well here’s some purrs, prayers and more to help you through this. I know you’ve got a few years on me, but I’m not far behind. Mom and dad are grateful for my overall good health for an older, heavier girl. Good luck to you, Kit.
Oh Kit, we are so sorry to hear this news. We know Dad will do his very best to help you. Getting old is not fun at all. But you hang in there Kit. We sure send tons of purrs and some mighty good thoughts to you too Kit.
Getting old sure does stink indeed. But one has to do what they have to do and hopefully plenty of more years shall come due.
Getting old isn’t easy (so says my Mom) but I’m not even two yet so I guess I don’t understand that yet. Still, I’d say for your years you are looking great and if you can get your eyes checked out, and are OK with shots if you have to have insulin then it seems you are just fine! Not hearing well isn’t such a bad thing – you get much QUIETER naps right Sister Kit????
Sending you POTP and hugs……….
Teddy
I will definitely be praying for you. XO
Purrs and prayers on the way from Florida.
The Florida Furkids
Getting old stinks for all living creatures, but it is life and we can be thankful if we get old. Hope things go well for you with your diabetes and eye issues. No one likes needles, so paws crossed you don’t need shots.
I think you are precious Sister Kit and I also think your outlook is bright. But you will absolutely have my prayers and love.
Kit, estamos enviando muitos ronronas para você.
Cafunés para você, senhora bonita!
Looking very good, Sister Kit, in your old age! It’s something we all have to go through. You are doing it very gracefully.
Kit, we will all send purrs your way but I will send extra–I know all about aging. Sometimes it’s just not all that much fun!
~Caroline!
Kit we send purrs, prayers and POTP all to you and hope that your glucose testing comes back in the acceptable range so you don’t have to take insulin. Aging is for wuzzies isn’t it? (Mom says that all the time about herself!)

Getting older is no fun, Sister Kit, not for kitties or humans. It is much better than the alternative though. I can’t purr so I am sending good thoughts for you instead.

You are a special gal. We wish you the best. ❤
Kit, I hope the ophthalmologist can help you and also that your blood sugar readings turn out to be OK. Don’t worry about insulin shots, though, if you need them. My parents told me that before I moved in one of the kitty family members, Speedy, had to take insulin. Every morning, even before Mom and Dad had a cup of coffee to wake up, Speedy jumped on the table set up for her and waited for her insulin shot.
Sending purrs and prayers.
Kit, it’s tough getting old. That’s what we say…and the mom says it too. We hope you don’’t have diabetes, but if you do, it can be treated and we know your dad will get it under control for you.
Poor Sister Kit…I hope you don’t have to get shots.
Hey Kit my Cougar sisteh…you aren’t having much fun there. Do any of us Cougars? Unless of course we take the clubhouse by storm with some niper oo-ny. You do sound positive though. Cwap! Diabetes….uis a disease none of us need but I hear it can be controlled. Mom controlled her other kitty with injections so if mom can do it, it will be no problem for your dad. I’ll let everyone know that you could use a few purrs about now my friend.

Sister Kit you are doing great. You still look like a young cat. Saying prayers that you don’t have to deal with diabetes
You are beautiful granny, Kit 🙂 I hope you will not need insulin shots. Sending purrs and hugs xo
Sister Kit,. you are a beautiful older lady cat. Paws crossed that your eye isn’t troublesome and that you don’t have diabetes. If you do need insulin, it’s not the worst thing in the world, especially if it come with a little treat.
