It’s Tabby Tuesday with me, the Simon! I sure do like having my own day and I guess I am a tabby, for the most part, and it is Tuesday, so let’s get on with it. I’m taking one of my breaks from my attack the toys and run around the house duties that I take very seriously.
Let me ask you a question. Do you think I’ll ever grow into my big paws? The peeps have been wondering if I will or not since my paws are kind of big. The Dad was reading a terrific blog post over at Kittyclysm called When Do Cats Stop Growing? At What Age Are Kittens Full Grown?. It’s a good read if you haven’t seen it. The peeps found it interesting since I have some Maine Coon and Bengal in my genes. The peeps didn’t realize that different breeds grow at different rates. That means I could keep growing for a while yet. I’m also, according to the Dad, a long and tall boy, and of course I have that really huge tail.
Who knows, I may or may not continue to grow, but one thing for sure, I’ll continue to romp n’ roll and have lots of fun, and enjoy my formerly feral life. I’m also super happy that Sister Seal is here with me, we’re the best of pals.
I hope you all have a super duper Tuesday and thanks so much for stopping by to see me today. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Oh yeah, who knows how long you will keep growing, Simon? We Somalis are pretty much full grown at 2 years, but it takes Maine Coons a couple of years more. And I will tell you something interesting – Sparkle had yellow eyes until she was three years old – then they turned that deep emerald green that everyone noticed! I haven’t been as lucky – mine are the same green with some yellow that they’ve been for the past couple of years.
We would be curious to know how big you get too Simon 🙂
Those paws are pretty impressive.

You sure look ready to get up to no good or umm fun, right? lol Some cats can take years to finish growing indeed. So have to wait and see.
WE are betting you keep growing for a little while just to catch up with the tail and those handsome paws. You do have a good time Simon romping around the house. You all have a good Tuesday and stay warm. It is getting all cold again, darn it all.
I say 100% you will grow into them and all those siblings around your best treat you with loving respect or you will show them just who is bossman.
Hugs madi your bfff
Well Simon I say we all have our own way of growing up……my Mom “thinks” I’ve stopped growing – I’m almost 19 lbs. and a BIG BOY all the way around but haven’t really grown much in the last month. I will be TWO in March. Who knows – I may have another growth spurt but if I do, Mom will need a CRANE to pick me up and put me on the sink for my SINK DRINKS! HAHAHAHAHA However big you may get Simon, you will always be a handsome guy with an INCREDIBLE tail!
Hugs, Teddy
to live the high life on big paws is a fabulous thing simon… I first thought I’m a kind of frog or I wear swimfins as I saw my paws the furst time, but now they fit well to me, although I’m a small guy… a hobbit-eraner ;O)))
I have a feeling you are almost grown into the paws LOL Thanks for sharing the link for the new blog.
You probably will. Our Millie grew into her long tail.
We think most cats and dogs do grow into their paws, but at different rates. You are the most handsome boy even if your paws stay huge compared to the rest of you.
dood……tigerz can take up ta like 5 yeerz ta reech maturity….sew ewe haz few yet ta still be a wee one; oh, N ya shuld max at about….700 poundz….tho it mite bee a good eye dea if dad started lookin NOW… fora new sofa ~~~~~~ just sayin 🙂 ♥♥
Maybe you will grow into your your big paws. Goro had big paws when he was a kitten, too, and he’s grown into them. Though, I have an image that you will always have your massive floofy tail 🙂
I am going to send my Mom over there to have a look…I am a small cat but I have huge feet too!
And Simon, you are purrfect in every way! Even if you got snowshoes for feet too!

With those big paws and that lonnnnnnnng tail, we have to believe that you are not done growing yet, Simon. And even if you are, you are a handsome big-pawed, long-tailed furry:)
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Bear grew well into the first couple years. Then again, I adopted him at 8 months from the street – so maybe his growth was stunted a bit to begin with because of lack of nutrition. You’re purrfect just the way you are, Simon … with your siblings, you have huge paws to fill – but we’re betting you’ll manage and make it look easy.
We have a feeling you just might grow into those paws, Simon. There is going to be more of you to get into trouble, but more importantly, more of you to love!!
I read that article. It was a good read. However, I don’t know what breed my Daisy Mae is so I’m a loss. She’s a grey and white cat.
You have impressive paws indeed, and it’s possible that you’ll still be growing up for a few months thanks to your Maine Coon ancestor. Purrs
We are sure that you will get there, Simon, and the results will be awesome!
It’s the same with horses, you now. Racehorses are winning big races when they are 2 or 3 whereas draft horses are still babies at that age!
Purrs,
The Chans
Whoa! If you grow into those paws, you may wind up the size of a tiger! All the male cats who came beore me grew into their paws and were huge boys. I’m a lot bigger than either Faith or Autumn and twice as long as I was when I first moved here. I was supposed to be over a year old but the peeps say with how much I grew, it was more like seven month.
Andy has super big paws and he has most certainly grown into them. At least I HOPE he has grown into them. Surely he can’t grow any bigger! MOUSES!
We just have to wait and see won’t we? That’s a question that never entered our human’s head, we wonder why?
Acho que você ainda vai continuar crescendo, a julgar pelo tamanho de tuas patas.
Cafunés para você, menino bonito!
I think you are going to grow more for sure!!
Those are great looking paws.
I think you will grow into them, Simon.
Yep, Simon…you’ve got another couple of years to grow! You are going to need a big doggie bed when you are done, because you’ll be too large for a cat-sized one! LOL!
I bet you will grow into them. My niece’s Maine Coon kept growing until he was about 5.
Our former kitty Felix had very long paws, so Mom called him Felix LongPaws. I love your long paws, and whether or not you grow into them, they are spectacular!
We love you just as you are!
I think you will grow into them or they will shrink
At least you don’t have to grow into your ears, Simon!
P.S. Your blog no longer remembers who we are and we have to enter stuff every time. Anyone else having this issue?
us too, tho auto-fill on the fields minimizes the typing
We sure hope you do! It could be tough getting around with paws too big. – Tom
We think you still have some growing to do, Simon. So don’t worry about those big paws.
Mom knew about different breeds growing at different rates. She wants to do some research on ginger cats and size! They all seem to be of an extra large size. Our Sawyer is growing very fast! Hope he doesn’t reach Cooper Murphy’s 18 1/2 pounds. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
You need to grow into your tail, Simon 😀 you look like a young kitten in that picture. good job on your duties – keep it up!
pip, minnie, hollie, sharpie, ditto, TL
We, too, also wonder how big you’ll get, Simon. However big that turns out to be will be purrfect, for sure!
Thank you so much for the shout out, Simon! 🙂
Oh tail size, that’s actually an interesting thing to think about too, if tail size has got anything to do with eventual size!
If I were to guess, I’d think you do have a little growin’ left in you. Just feels lookin’ at you that it’s probably gonna turn out that way! But no way of knowing – we humans will just have to wait and see!
Simon, those paws and that tail! I swear…you are a cat among cats! And totally gorgeous too! I know I have meowed that before but really…wow!
I don’t know, Simon, those are definitely some big paws to grow into!
Hey, Simon. I’s think your paws are pawsum. Mommy says we Ragdolls keep growin’ fur years and don’t reach our full size till we’re ’bout 4 or 5 years old. That means I’s got lots more growin’ to do too. I’s also long and tall with a floofy tail. We’re sendin’ hugs fur all.
