Hello everyone and welcome to Mancat Monday. I’ve been trying really hard to teach Brother Simon some of the important things about life inside. For the most part he is doing rather well, but sometimes he does seem to get a bit distracted. I try to have daily lessons for Brother Simon and fortunately for him I assign very little homework. Here’s some of the things currently on the training agenda:
- Stop, relax and smile. Whatever it is you’re chasing probably won’t go very far. Take time out on a regular basis, have a snooze and show that you are happy with a smile.
- Don’t chase the flickering candle light. We don’t have real candles here, they are fake, but while the flickering light looks real, chasing it up the walls only irritates the peeps.
- Litter is in the litter box for a reason. If you don’t like it when the Dyson wakes up and starts grumbling then try tossing a little less litter out of the box and onto the floor.
All in all Brother Simon is a very good student and I’m pleased with his progress. Maybe I will give him some homework today. Hey Brother Simon, work on number 1 on the list please.
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Simon’s still a youngster, really. I know it took me a while to learn stuff. Kind of a long while!
Okay, maybe I’m still learning some things.
that are 3 important lesson , I agree… and I will try to leave the candles alone … we have just fake ones too (the staff+fire=disaster) but I like to attack the shadows on the wall ;OL)
Good lessons to learn, but we suspect that Simon’s youth works against him sometimes 😉
MOL!
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
Yeah, good luck with that one. He is, after all, a boy. Maybe in time he’ll learn…
haha the wall gets a good workout with him at least and the dyson too. Maybe the litterbox needs a wall around it.
Wishing you luck Brian, teaching that silly Simon some good manners. But we know that basically he is a good boy some of the time. You all have a fantastic day.
Brian, we couldn’t think of a better teacher. Good plan! – Tom
Keep trying Brian, Simon will get it sooner or later.
We are with you on the litter thing. My cats seem to try to kick it to China. It makes my mom nuts!
Sometimes it takes us a while to learn lessons…..first we have to LISTEN, then we have to LEARN……it’s not easy when you’re just a youngster like us is it Simon?!
Hugs, Teddy

#3 I read out loud in my outside voice to Madi!!
Such a cute post and message to Simon
Hugs madi’s mom
Simon is lucky to have such a patient brother to help him work on these things!
You are a very patient teacher, Brian. When I kick the litter out, TW sweeps it up and dumps it back in the box so she won’t have to change the sucky thing’s bag that often. That’s right, we don’t have a bagless one.
OMC I am DYING laughing! The “fake” candlelight….the litter!! OMC! Good luck Brian, you have your paws full!
Those are important lessons, but Simon is lucky : you’re such a good and patient teacher, Brian ! Purrs
I am sure he will figure it out someday.
Let us know how things go with #3, then we’ll use the same technique with Manny and CB.
All in good time, Brian. Mom keeps making similar lists for the two young ‘uns here.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

Number 1 is an important lesson we can all learn!! And I wish all my guys would learn number 3!!
Those are good lessons to be teaching Simon. I hope he is an attentive pupil.
* Helpless giggles * Oooh Simon you silly kitten cat!!
Brother Simon has an excellent teacher so we know in time he will excel in those areas.
Those are awesome lessons to learn and you are a wonderful big brother to help him, Brian. Not many of us had a big brother willing to take the time to be such a good teacher. And we agree: Number 1 is the most important (though our Mom thinks Number 3 is right up there, too).
São lições valiosas para um gatinho de dentro de casa, você é um ótimo professor, Brian.
Cafunés!
Very good advice. We have a three rug system by the litter box because Dex may make the mess but he doesn’t like it messy. We count on whatever is being stalked to stay put around here (:
That’s some great homework! I bet that Simon aces it!
We laughed a lot with #2! And good luck with teaching #3, Brian–we’ve never learned that one!
I think Simon still has a while to enjoy a few youthful indiscretions.
We’re sure Simon will get it sooner or later. 🙂
It seems like you are doing a great job teaching him
I’m sure he learns it quick under your supervision, Brian 🙂 Double Pawkiss 🙂 <3
Brother Simon will probably be surprised to find out that there are things he needs to learn. 😉
#3 seems to be an issue around here with some cats. We’re not mentioning any names, however. So happy Simon is taking most of his lessons to heart. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
Oh, my…Simon and Clyde & Bee all have a lot to learn! Hugs!
Those are some purretty good lessons gawjus. Good luck teachin’ him. Raena hardly ever lissens. MOL Big hugs
