Hello gang, it’s that time again and welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Every Thursday we tell you about the things for which we are most thankful. We’re so happy that so many of you are joining us for our blog hop and we’re always excited to see new bloggers hopping by. Sometimes finding thankfuls can be rought, but they are there, just seek them out.
Today I’m going to tell you something that you already know, y’all are a smart bunch. See, you knew that! Pet bloggers are not only the most caring peeps, but they will go out of their way to contribute and be helpful to others. I’ve lost count of the times we asked for some health advise and receive it. We’ve also been asked for website advise from time to time from newbies and we’re always happy to offer suggestions.
We, the collective, are always here for one another, always. If you’ve ever been to a blogging conference you know exactly what I mean. The real learning isn’t necessarily from the numerous seminars or training sessions. Nope, the real learning comes for talking to one another. Best of all, you make us think, we’re thankful for that.
Earlier this week there was an announcement that Chewy bought BlogPaws. A while back PetSmart bought Chewy. The blogging peeps,, as a collective, are trying to figure out the best path forward for the pet blogging community so as not to become part of a super-size infomercial. I also read that the Cat Writers Association will no longer be a part of BlogPaws. I remember what happened to BarkWorld when they were purchased, sadly they’ve become irrelevant. I’m thankful for the wisdom of the pet blogging community and I’m certain they, together, will find the best path forward, it’s what the do and they do it so well.
What are you thankful for today? Tell me in the comments and then hop on in and join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, we would love it. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
I’m thankful for your wise words! Very true what you say about the blogging community!
I’m thankful my cousin Jeanna likes chicken.

“super-size infomercial” pretty much sums it up….you are one wise kitteh
The conference and organization came from the fact there was such a big pet blogging community. And no matter what happens to the organization, the community will still be there.
Yes, we”ll all figure it out together, for sure. The collective pet blogging community is so wonderfully supportive!
I hope it works out, I love Chewy.
You know, the more things stay the same, the more they change. I can’t foresee what will happen..
But perhaps it could be more. We won’t know until it happens (or we make it happen!)

So much going on in the Pet Blogging world, but one thing is certain…we have each other to look to for guidance!
We are so thankful for the blogging community and love both Chewy.com and Blog Paws and we trust they will keep the model they both have..which focuses on community!
chewy is simply da best… and we hope they will come over da big pond once..
We agree that the blogging community is pawsome.
Today we are thankful that we are warm and cozy indoors and that Spring is coming.
Our Winter has not been too bad for outdoor critters.
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
Sure lots of great people in blogland indeed. Yeah, when things get bought and become part of the collective company crap, they tend to go down hill.
The blogging community is not only fun but informative and alliances can bring GOOD things if that’s their motivation……hopefully most of the time it is. We are just happy there are so many advocates for pets – we deserve them!! Thank you for THANKFUL THURSDAY so we can voice or thankfuls together every week!
Love, Teddy
I didn’t know all that! Let’s hope that everything stays the same or gets better!
We are very thankful to have friends like you.
We all think the blogging community is just the best and hope all these changes don’t change the blogging world. We are so thankful for all of our blogging friends. You all have a great day.
We could not agree with you more, wise Brian. It is comforting to know that, no matter what, those in this community will always be here for each other. Purrs!
We always wondered why Chewy never was at BlogPaws, but we were totally caught off our paws to hear they acquired it! We all have each other and will wait and see what happens.
I am very grateful for the CB and every Animal in it. They have the compassion and loving informed answers every single TIME you ask something of them as a group. I am grateful to be of of them.
Mr. M here – I’m thankful that you, Brian, are willing to host this blog hop. You do a fine job and keep us all informed about important things like BlogPaws, etc.
The blogging community is wonderful.

The blogging community is a great one and I hope everything works out for the best.
I hope everything turns out for the best. I don’t have much time for blogs and only follow two. Flickr and Facebook take up a lot of time! (Oh, and joining Facebook was NOT my idea!)
I’ve wanted to go to BlogPaws annual convention for a few years, but haven’t been able to swing it; to meet folks face-to-face would be terrific! This year, I’ve traveling to England at the same time…ENGLAND! Am very excited to go; a huge item on my to-do list. Guess we’ll see what transpires as PetSmart takes over; I am NOT a fan of PetSmart, if anyone wanted my opinion.
Nós gratos pelo dia chuvoso, este verão foi muito seco aqui.
Pretinha
I’m thankful that I met you and your kitties.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. ☺
I think a lot of us are a little anxious about the acquisition, but we’re hopeful it will all be for the best. The bottom line is we are already a community, whether it revolves around BP’s or not. We will always be community, we may just end up ‘meeting’ in different places.
I’m thankful you host this hop and try to help people focus on the good!
There are a lot of changes lately, aren’t there? We know the CWA isn’t part of BlogPaws this year, but who knows – they could be together again…
We are thankful for this community of cat lovers who we’ve been around for almost 10 years (Mom Paula, that is) and hope we can be part of it for years to come.
It didn’t work out for CWA to hold their annual conference with BlogPaws this year because of timing, but maybe another year. We (CAW) love BlogPaws!
Ohh Brian you are informed so we are informed…Great bit of collective news.
Hugs madi your bfff
Very well said! I am concerned with what might happen with BlogPaws, but you are so right that our community will always be here, and we will figure out how to make this work. I don’t have a problem with Chewy, but I do not like businesses getting bigger and bigger. Too often something gets lost in the shuffle. Today we are thankful that it has finally stopped snowing – we think. The weather people are talking of another storm next week. But for now, it’s stopped and some is melting. Now if we could just get some sunshine, we’d… Read more »
we remember when thiz happened ta catster/dogster 🙁 ….and with that we will just say we iz thanx ful we found blogger ♥♥
Hi, Brian. Thanks for the update. One thing, CWA was never a part of BlogPaws, though we scheduled our annual conferences together several times. This year, BlogPaws changed their convention schedule to one that didn’t work with the CWA schedule, so CWA’s conference will be in conjunction with the Houston CFA Regional Cat Show instead. And hey, Brian, maybe you should join the Cat Writers’ Association. You’re a cat that writes, right? You’d be purrfect!
I haven’t used Chewy but I’ve heard it’s great.
We too are worried about BlogPaws but we do love Chewy. They have some really nice stuff that mommy orders for us for treats and special occasions
Hey, I have the same orange toy, but I’m already bored with it. No matter, I swiped the Amazon credit card.

We must have been asleep at the switch with all these buyouts!
Mommy so wants to join the CWA, she just can’t affurd the dues. Maybe someday. We’d luv to go to BlogPaws, but we’d also luv to attend some of the cat oriented things. After all, we are cats. MOL Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Not to be a downer but I was part of a group called Doggyspace that was bought by PetSmart and Chewy in 2015 and then shut down with little notice. I hope that same does not happen to Blog Paws
I believe that our community is strong because we’ve formed on our own out of a shared passion for our 4 legged friends. I agree that we don’t want to become a super sized infomercial. To be honest, I already get a bit weary when chewy review time rolls around. I love Chewy but I don’t review stuff for them because I like to have total control over my content. I have many non-pet bloggers as readers and I don’t want to bore them. Anyway, thanks for the heads-up. We’ll see how things evolve… thanks for hosting this hop!
We agree with Summer. No matter what happens, the pet blogging community will always be here.
Yes, we are a community just like the Twitter Anipals who are now scattered all over. All good things do come to an end. My thinking was one way or the other this was going to be Blogpaws last year with Yvonne, Tom and Chloe gone. Maybe Chewy buying it is a good thing and will keep it going. Do you remember when BP’s was Vicki Cook, Kristen Dewey and Carolyn Golon and a few others? Mostly cat people.
Mom is a little apprehensive as to what this latest acquisition will do to the BlogPaws organization. There are sure to be some changes. Bet we will hear more about it at the conference this year. We were one of those newbies that asked you for help on more than a few occasions. This week we are thankful to be on two additional top/best blog lists. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
The pet blogging community really is the nicest group of folks that I’ve been associated with. I am also hoping the purchase of BlogPaws will not have a negative effect on their mission statement. I love Chewy so our paws are crossed going forward. I wish that we were going to this year’s conference to learn more but since we just moved, it isn’t in the cards for us.
I agree that bloggers are the best and always ready to help each other.
