Hello everyone, it’s Sister Saturday and that always means that one of us gets our turn to do a blog post. We go in order based on the order in which we came to live here, in case you were wondering. Oh, every once in a while we do change it up if there is a special occasion or something. So, today is my day and I have a confession to make.
I am a Carpet Snarker, at least that’s what the Mom calls me. I must admit, she may be right, whatever it’s called. You see, I have a tendency to dig at the carpet. Not just anywhere though, I dig at it in just specific places. I am extremely fond of snarking the carpet up close and around the baseboards and especially right up against the where the carpet meets the sliding glass doors in the dining room.
So there you have it. Is there a Carpet Snarkers Anonymous? I really didn’t have to confess, the peeps have not really seen me do it, but there have been a few times when there were itty bits of carpet in my furs though. So yes, it was me.
The peeps have to figure out a way to help me stop. Any ideas? They could put something down perhaps, but then the “up against” part would just be in a different place. The solution is a bit purrplexing. Maybe they will figure out something, but I might just keep at it when nobody is looking.
So, what are you up to today? I hope you all have a fun Saturday. Oh, guess what else? I’ll be back tomorrow for the selfie thing and I’m trying to talk Brother Simon into doing it with me. That should be fun!
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Well, I don’t have any specific suggestions. Just clues. And basically, these areas need to be made not fun to mess with, while other areas should be made more interesting for you! I’m not sure what that would entail. I do know that if one of us is doing something my human would rather have us not, she usually figures something out that makes it a whole lot less appealing to do.
I remember when I had Mini-Me and she was a kitten, and it drove me bonkers. I don’t even remember what I did to stop her, but somehow she grew out of it and found more interesting things to do. I sure wish they would have had cat psychiatrists back then. (lol) Hugs and happy Saturday! RO
haha the best spots are the ones where the peeps can’t do anything about it, right? Just don’t get caught and you’ll remain anonymous. Could always be that you were just rolling in the leftover bits, right?
WE have a cat here that likes to Snark at the run on the corners. We don’t have any solutions. That is hard one. Hope you all have a great and can stay cool. Yikes it is hot.
It is a hard thing to help you with Sister Seal. (not that YOU want that help…) I do that to the carpet too despite a zillion pads, posts, you name it. Mom hasn’t thought of anything yet that helps except a firm audible NO when I do it IF she sees me. That’s no help at all. xx
Oh no….my Lily has not done that ….yet and here is hoping she don’t take it up. She tends to want to stretch on the screen on the screened in porch getting her nails caught. She gets a HARD NO for that and she seems to be learning to stop that habit. If she wishes to keep porch time she will stop all the way. Course I have learned that keeping her nails clipped helps so much and she is good about sitting in my lap to do that. Maybe if mom gave you a hard no and a spray… Read more »
What big, beautiful eyes you have, Sister Seal!
It sounds to me like you prefer using the carpet instead of a scratching post/pad. II don’t know how to solve that, though.
Our Gracie is a carpet snarker, for sure. But we don’t have any solutions, per se.
Today’s photo would be a a great selfie. Some of the past Kitties Blue were rug snarkers. We didn’t know what it was called. Currently Sawyer and Cooper Murphy are pealing the wallpaper off the bathroom wall. Mom is not a happy camper. We look forward to seeing you again tomorrow, Seal. I am lucky we don’t have anyone here that does that. I do have a lot of cats that like to yack on small throw rugs though.
Seal the Snarker…
Your mom says snarker I say you are just trying to get stuff away from the baseboards.
Hugs madi your bfff
Why did you confess? My grandfather always said Never Admit To Anything. Have a great Mother’s Day Weekend.
Hi cute carpet snarker 😉 MOL!
We do not have carpet so we have no ideas.
WE have rugs but we do not bother them unless mum puts catnip on them 😉
We love that!

If there is a carpet snarker’s anonymous then my dog needs to go too. lol
Your humans could try a pet safe citrus scent on the area where you scratch. Of course, make sure it won’t stain the rug. Maybe one of your siblings planted those itty bitty carpet fibers on you to divert the blame from themselves.
You are looking beautiful, Sister Seal! I can’t think of any good idea for the carpet. Niko sometimes scratches carpet but very rarely.
Just give them the look with your beautiful blue eyes and you will probably get away with it.
River and I do that too but we have blunt claws so we don’t rip things up. I think there are sprays that can be used it if is one part of the carpet but I think you would find another part to sharpen your claws on
That sounds like a lot of fun, Seal, maybe because it’s the edge of the carpet and pieces are easier to get at. I didn’t know you kittens went in order, happy Saturday you little snarker.
We don’t have any suggestions, but this sure is a beautiful shot of you, Sister Seal.

Hmmm, I only scratch on my carpeted scratching posts, oh, and the special el cheapo area rug that TW had bought to put under my litter box. It didn’t fit so she put it on the box I sit on. Maybe she could buy you a special rug too.
So that’s what I am…a carpet snarker! I like digging the carpet on the stairs. ~Ernie
