Hello everyone, thanks for coming by to see me on Sister Saturday and thank you all for the purrs, prayers and well wishes during my challenging times. I appreciate and love all of you each and every day. Since it’s my turn today I though I’d give you a quick update on what all is going on with me.
I do want to tell you that I am eating on my own again and I’m eating pretty good most days. It sure is a lot less stressful for me although the Dad says I’m really quite cooperative when he does have to feed me by hand. I’ve gained some weight back too which everyone seems pretty happy about.
Apparently I’m quite the challenge as I am a borderline diabetic and the Vets and the peeps are trying to get me back into remission. I get my glucose level checked every morning and if it is too high I have to have a bit of insulin. I’ve always been a bit unusual when it comes to any medicine, they all affect me differently that other kitties. The insulin is no exception. If I’m over 300 in the morning I get 1/2 Unit of insulin. If you’ve ever dealt with a diabetic kitty you will know that is the absolute minimum amount that you can get in a syringe. Just 1/2 unit drops my glucose into the 50s, which is way low and almost dangerous, so I have to have my glucose level checked a couple more times to make sure I don’t have a hypoglycemic problem. So far so good and I’ve only had to have insulin every 5-6 days. The goal is to get me out of the 200 range and into the normal range of 80-100.
So, that’s what is going on with me. Other than that, I’ve been acting pretty much like my normal self and have even been playing with some toys often, which is something I haven’t done in a good long while. Have a fun Saturday everyone, and thanks for stopping by.
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
I am very glad you are eating on your own again and have put some weight back. Well done and keep it up, Zoe. Your borderline diabetes does sound a challenge, but I know your humans will keep a very close eye on your levels to make sure you get the right dosage.
Oh, dear Zoe, it sure sounds like you have your paws full. Glad to hear you’re eating better and feeling better. I’m thankful we don’t have to deal with that just now. Our main concern is my kidneys, and mom and dad are constantly trying to figure out a way to get me to shed a few pounds, which is proving to be difficult. Try to enjoy your weekend!
Great you are eating away once more. Hopefully everything levels off and remission returns.
Oh Zoe, we are so so glad you are getting back to normal and eating again. That is just such good news. Now you keep up that good work. Have a wonderful day.
Thanks for the update. We’re glad you are eating on your own. Mom’s friend Charlotte just found out that one of her new kitties, Cuddles, is a diabetic. Oh yeah….and she is a HE!!! 🙂

It’s good to get an update on you and I’m glad you’re doing much better. I hope you can get those numbers back down to the normal level and they stay there. You’ll be much happier and so will your peeps.
Have a purrfect Sister Saturday, Zoe. My best to your peeps. ♥
I am so glad to hear that you are eating on your own and even gained a little weight, Sister Zoe! I’m sorry about the diabetes. I started wondering if the insulin could be diluted (not by you but by a compounding pharmacy or some other professional). I hope that you can get that dose straightened out. Sending more POTP.
So glad you are doing better! Your situation sounds complicated.
Zoe, it’s good to hear from you, and we all hope you’ll stabilize even more! Continued puurs and hugs, sweetheart!
This is great news, Zoe, especially that you are playing. That always signals a kitty is feeling better. Could you please tell Dad Terry that our mom has been trying to send an e-mail with the info to claim your customizable kitty socks, but they keep bouncing. She’s going to try the contact form. If you don’t get a message there, please contact her with an alternative e-mail address. Have a good weekend. It is lovely to see you, Zoe, and you look lovely in that picture. We hope your dad is successful in getting you back into the non-diabetic zone!

Glad you’re doing better Zoe,bunny kisses,xx Speedy
So glad to hear the good news about you. That is awesome that you are able to eat on your own again without dad having to feed you. My Lily will sit up nicely in my lap to have nails clipped but I am not sure how that feeding thing would go. Keeping on getting better and better.
Zoe I am so glad to learn that things are on the upswing and we will continue to purr that they go in that direction.
That sounds kinda stressful but glad to hear you are eating.
Zoe darling! I am so furry happy that you are doing better. I am so glad that your folks know how to handle the insulin. I’m not sure that my Mom would know how to do that!
purrs

Oh Zoe you are a brave girl and you look just great – I’m glad you’re eating…..we ALL are! You keep doing what you must do to keep healthy OK? Sometimes that’s not a lot of fun but it’s impawtant!
Love, Teddy
I’m glad you’re feeling better and eating, Zoe. I hope soon you’ll be free of insulin too.
I’m glad you’re eating on your own again. That’s a tiny amount of insulin, and it sounds like you could use a little less. I don’t think they have smaller needles so you could get less insulin, but I’m glad you are in a good home that can take care of your needs. Sending healing thoughts.
Hang in there Sister Zoe! We are sending purrs. XOXO
We’re so glad you’re eating on your own again ! Go on like this ! Purrs

Keep on eating, Zoe. It’s great that you’re feeling better. I hope your glucose level will even out and that you soon won’t need any insulin at all.
It fills us with great joy to hear that you are eating on your own, Sister Zoe AND putting on some weight too. We hope you can get those numbers in a good range soon.

Fantastic news about eating on your own again. It’s good that you need so little insult, but not good that you can’t get a small enough dose to be safer. Have you asked about getting the insulin diluted. Some types you can dilute and some you can’t.
It sounds like it’s not easy to keep your numbers on the right track, Zoe – I’m glad your humans are watching out for you so carefully.
We purr very hard that you keep on eating on your own so you can gain some weight and maybe keep your diabetes under control.
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
