Hello gang, it’s Mancat Monday again and I’ve been relaxing in my throne and doing some thinking. Every time I say I’ve been thinking my sisters giggle at me, I don’t know why that is, but it seems to happen. Oh, well I do giggle at some of the things they do too so I suppose that’s only fair.
So anyways, what have I been thinking about? Well, June is almost over which means that July is up next. Two things have me pondering. Why are fireworks so annoying in our neck of the woods. The firework stands have been open for a while and the crazy humans are stocking up for the 4th of July. Dang, those things are loud and scary. Not only will they go off the night of the 4th of July, they’ll be going off for several nights before and after too. Why do they have to keep at it until 3:00 in the morning?
Then, the other thing I’ve been thinking about is something Mom said. She said it will be Christmas in July soon. I’ve been wondering if we’ll get to put up our Christmas Tree. Probably not, that never seems to happen but if it’s really Christmas in July I think our tree should make an appearance, that only seems right.
So, that’s what’s been on my mind, maybe I’ll just sleep on it. Have a fun Monday everyone. Catch ya soon! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Good points you make Brian.
We have decided that humans have some strange customs and even stranger ideas about fun.
We just shake our heads and give slow blinks and have a nap :/

Yes, fireworks can be a frightening experience for animals, and we don’t understand why it has to go on for hours and hours, too…
Christmas in July? I think I would like that! Fireworks, not so much. We had some Sunday, but I think that had something to do with Mexico and a cup of some sort.
Humans and their fireworks. Flashy lights. Whoopie. Do presents come too in July?
Brain
You have silly sisters!! Oh good buddy do I hear you on the fireworks and mentality that goes with them.
I just don’t get it!! And it has been so dry too very scary
Hugs madi your bfff
Christmas in July sounds like a fun thing to do. BUT, we sure could do without the fireworks. That is just plain too scary. You all have a super day.
Christmas in July sounds like lots of fun, and we hope it will make up for that noisy 4th of July. It is so nice that our country celebrates our independence, but do we have to be so loud about it?
we had no firework last year and we hope this year the authorities are still in trouble (or again) so we will have none this year too… I often wonder what we could do with all the moneeh people blow in the air…
Oooooo! We think it would be fun to have that tree up in July, Brian. 😉
You ponder stuff like I do, Brian. The day humans make sense is a day I’ll never see coming if I live to be a thousand! – Tom x
Mom turns the a/c and tv on to help drown out the illegal fireworks that go off big time around here.
Great shot of your beautiful pensive kitty ~ I am not fond of fireworks either ~ good thinking!
Happy Day to you,

We live in a big city and the fireworks are horrible! Our mom HATES them! Hmmm…. we wonder if Santa Claws is coming early?
The fireworks even irritate my mom because they wake her up. Such senseless stuff!
I myself do not like fireworks….noisy and dangerous. Especially now living in wildfire country.
Have a lovely day!
dood….we heer ya….de fire werkz haz been goin off heer now fora week….knot a cloo WHY…N afturr de 4th they will shoot em fora nother week ~~~~~~ ??? talk bout epic fail time manage mint ! 🙂 ♥♥
I don’t know why they have to start so early either. I don’t think they think about how our four legged family members hate all these big booms. I know your mom and dad will do everything they can to get you through another 4th of July.
Have a purrfect Mancat Monday. My best to your peeps. ♥
All that thinking will tire you out, sweet Brian. Better catch up on sleep during the day when it’s quiet. The fireworks have already started in our neighborhood. And last night Mother Nature put on a noisy thunder and lightening display!

We don’t like fireworks, either. Not looking forward to July 4th fireworks. But Christmas in July sounds fun 🙂
We’re with you all the way on those darn fireworks. They just went on sale here last Saturday and sure enough, last night, someone was firing a bunch off nearby. To make it worse, supposedly, we have an ordinance that says no more fireworks. Yet every year, they put off enforcing it for another year!
We don’t know what Christmas in July is, but something tell us we won’t be looking for snowflakes anytime soon. We’re in the middle of a drought!
Sisters can be silly 🙂
We agree totally with you about fireworks. They are illegal in most of the cities in Kansas around us, but we live just over the state line from Missouri where there are big tents that sell all sorts of those bang bang fireworks. We will be happy when the 4th has gone by.
Christmas in July??? Does that mean we might get some snow??? BOL
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
HAHA….are you wanting a tree put up so you can climb in it? I find it always trouble some when a male thinks but you did ok.
Hi Bri, I hate all those fireworks too and it doesn’t help that we have an early 4th in June for our Shake the Lake. It seems to me the fireworks from last year just stopped last May! I don’t know about Christmas in July but we have Hippie Christmas in August. Don’t think too much little guy.
Deep thoughts!!!
The Florida Furkids
Christmas in July? I hope not! We don’t hear many fireworks here, but on Guy Fawkes night we can see them across the river. Eric used to stand in the window to watch them. He liked to watch lightning too! Me and Flynn used to hide during thunderstorms, but not Eric.
Wouldn’t it be so much fun to have the tree and the shiny balls from July onwards?
Frodo and Zulu will tell you that their sister Amarula talks nonsense too!!
We wonder about fireworks too, Brian. Here they go mental for days before *and* after. You’d think with our dry conditions folks would have a brain, but they don’t. The county has banned private fireworks this year but of course not the city. We’d like to see all the city counselors hide under their beds for the duration and THEN they’d have a change of heart.
Oh Brian, fireworks can be scary. We had some in our Townhouse complex for Victoria Day!
Mom says she is glad she is here for the 4th of July. In Midway, the house is furry close to the US border and the neighbors likes to shoot off their guns (as well as fireworks) and it is scary! Kozmo tells me he hides under the bed with Jo Jo and Cinnamon.

be careful, Brian! don’t think too hard and hurt yourself. tee hee!
we are so sorry you guys have to put up with the stupid fireworks. we wish they could be illegal everywhere. say, we think you SHOULD get to put up your Christmouse tree next month. Christmas in July just wouldn’t be the same without a tree, right???
pip, minnie, hollie, sharpie, ditto, TL
Christmas in July? Does your mom watch the Hallmark Channel too? Pop does cos he says there’s nothing better to watch. You should move to a civilized place like here cos we hear very few boomers. Of course we do hear all those big to-dos in NYC.
You have a lot on your mind. I think a nap would be best for now. Everything will be clearer when you wake up. And Christmas in July is cool
Those are a couple of ponderous things Brian…we wonder about the fireworks thing too!
xoxo,

Hi Brian. *wavy paws* Here at Casa Wonderpurr the pawrents fill the house with mewsic while the big bangs are going on. We have a few who like to set them firecrackers off in the street outside our house, but eventually they run out of them, and the world returns to peace and quiet again. As for Christmas in July… we have a Forever Home, so every day is Christmas. At least that’s what my mom told me.
Purrs, Dori
Too many people just don’t use good sense where fireworks are concerned.
we HATE those darn fireworks…and…yesterday, someone had the NERVE to mention that it was 6 months til Christmas!
Brian, whenever our mom says, “I’ve been thinking.” Dad runs for the hills. It can only mean work for him! MOL. The fireworks don’t bother us too much, but Mom is not fond of them going off all hours of the day and night, and we suspect that will be starting soon. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
Aww, why do they giggle at you? Harley is a new addition for us since July 4th, so I don’t know how he will react to the fireworks. But all of our other animals (dog included) don’t mind them surprisingly!
Brian, cats just don’t understand how humans think, or why they need to blast off noisy fireworks, or celebrate a holiday six months before! Maybe it’s best not to think about it…
Those are some great thoughts Brian. We don’t like the fireworks either. They’ve been goin’ off fur days now. As fur Christmas in July…are we gonna get more gifts? Me has to ask mommy ’bout this one. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
