Welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Each and every Thursday we tell everyone about the things for which we are most thankful and it has been quite a week here. We always have so much to be thankful for each day, I know you all can relate to that. We all get excited when you join us for our blog hop and we love it when new blogger pals hop in too. Your thankfuls always make us smile!
Today I’m very thankful for security, of course we all love the security and safety of our home, but there’s more to it than that. As most of you know, our blog was hacked by a nasty evil hacker somewhere in the world. Let me set the stage a bit. We use the Wordfence security plugin, premium version, that serveral of you recommended to us and we’ve used it for a number of years. We also make sure we have the current version of WordPress and all plugins are always updated to the latest verions. We backup daily too, but of course the bad stuff gets backed up too. SIGH.
Today I am most thankful for the tech team at Wordfence who literally worked around the clock to get things cleaned up and back to a normal state. I can’t say enough good things about their level of support. We all love normal.
Now then, let me give you another Sister Zoe update. On Tuesday it became obvious that she was having a constipation problem, still not eating, and her glucose numbers kept going up. So this morning (Wednesday) the Dad took her back to her Internal Medicine Vet. A quick x-ray did show a backup so the poor girl had to have an enema. She also had to have 1/2 a unit of insulin to get her glucose back to the normal range. Unfortunately she might have to be on insulin for a while. She’s back home, resting again. That poor girl sure has been through a lot. Keep those purrs and POTP headed her way please.
So what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and join us for our Thankful Thurday Blog Hop if you can. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
It’s scary that you do everything right to keep your blog secure and you still got hacked. We use the Wordfence free version and so far, that’s worked well for us. We’re glad you’re back up and running again. And we send mega purrs to Zoe and hope she is feeling better soon. Our Zoey know all about being backed up and those nasty enemas.
Oh gosh, poor Zoe! I hope she feels better soon. Glad you got your site back and working, although sorry that happened in the first place.
We’re glad things turned out okay with your blog. There are some bad people out there, for sure.
We haven’t stopped purring and praying for Zoe! Poor kitty.
Poor Zoe. I hope she is better soon. I’m glad to hear that you have gotten your computer protected.

Poor Zoe. I’m sending lots of purrs her way. I’m glad I don’t have to purr for your blog – it sounds like the Wordfence humans took care of that!
We are thankful that you got your blog back again.
We will send lots of purrs to Zoe and hope her issues will settle down so she feels well soon.
Our Georgia knows about constipation.
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
Those evil hackers seem to be able to sneak by any fences or blocks or security that we use and we do wish they’d find some other form of “entertainment” than messing with all of us who are just having fun with our blogs! We’re sorry about Zoe’s problem but maybe now that her system is back to normal she will feel a whole lot better at last. Sending POTP.
Love, Teddy
Great that they were able to get the crummy hackers away. Being backed up sure is no fun. Hopefully she can finally get back on the mend.
Healing purrs for Sister Zoe and we are thankful for friends like you, and that you were able to get your blog fixed so we could come visit.
I didn’t know you got hacked! Even with Wordfence, that’s scary! Hope Zoe feels better!
Poor Zoe, we so hope she gets on the mend soon. We sure have all of our paws crossed for her. So glad the problem was solved with the computer. Have a terrific Thursday.

Hacking is just nasty. Hope Zoey is feeling better soon.

I’m thankful you’re up and running again and you gave the bad code the heave-ho. I’m also thankful I’m not self-hosted and am on Blogger. We feel so bad for Zoe. A cat shouldn’t have to go through all the pain and suffering she has but she’s in good hands. Sending more healing purrz. I have to send out for a new supply of those healing purrz. They’ve been going quickly.
Wow, did the hacking of your blog just happen recently? I didn’t even see a glitch from my side. I’m glad that Wordfence saved the day.
Sending POTP to Sister Zoe. She has been through a lot. I want her to have smooth sailing again!!!! She’s lucky to have you.
So sorry for Sister Zoe. Sending lots of purrs, prayers and encouragement because I too endured the place with the white coats and several surgical…”cleansings” shall we say. I was so sick but The Humans have me on medication and pumpkin powder and I’m feeling like my old self again.
Purrs & Head Bonks,
Tucker & The Tribe of Five
We are thankful Zoe is still here and that you are OK. WordFrence sounds worth it doesn’t it? Maybe I can afford to upgrade…..
Continuing purrayers & POTP for Sister Zoe…glad you got your hacker dealt with.
Oh my, Zoe sure has been through a lot, sending human purrs her way. That is quite a handsome photo, btw.
I have a virus scanner but may not even know if one of my blogs or website had been hacked. I thought WP was supposed to be the safest platform, just goes to show you nothing is really safe.
I guess I’m thankful I’ve never had a site popular enough to hack.
I’m glad your blog is back to normal. It’s sad that you do everything you can to protect against hackers, but they somehow find a way.
More purrs for Sister Zoe. That girl has had more than her fair share of difficulties the past few months.

We are glad you got the help you needed for the blog though, and you didn’t have much down time at all.
So glad your blog is back. It’s really scary those hackers find the way in even with all the security measures.

Sorry to hear about sister Zoe! My baby, Shadow had the same problem a year ago. After spending $800. On unnecessary testing, the vet said give him a teaspoon if Duralax. Sold in drugstores for people. Now he has no problem, he’s back to his old self & it cost less than $10.00. He’s on his 2nd bottle. I just sprinkle a small amount over his dry food. Shake it up & he’s good to go. It takes him a couple if days to eat through the dry food bowl but he loves it & will choose his special kidney… Read more »
Correction. That’s 1/8 of a teaspoon of Duralax per food dish once a day and keep an eye on your cat to make sure it’s not too much if ya know what I mean !!
I sure wish those nasty hackers would find a worthwhile hobby. I’m glad everything is back as it should be for you. And we are sending lots and lots of purrs and prayers to sweet Zoe! Get well, Zoe!
