Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: The Calm During the Storm

thankful thursday blog hop biran 06282018Welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, we’re mighty happy you stopped by today. Each and every Thursday we tell everyone about the things for which we are most thankful and today we are going to do just that. We all love it when you join us for our blog hop and we love it when we see new blogger pals hopping in too. Your thankfuls always make us smile!

Today, as my blog post title says, we’re thankful for the calm during the storm, seriously thankful.  As I told you, Summer in the South always means a rash of thunderstorms and nobody really likes a rash, of any kind.  Monday evening we had a big storm, although ours wasn’t nearly as bad as some of the surrounding areas.  Some areas had heavy winds, trees down and hail.  Well, about 6:00 Monday evening our power went out and it didn’t come back on until 6:00 Tuesday morning.

Usually those things can be pretty stressful on us and the peeps but I’m thankful that we have a whole house generator that kicked in right away.  We had all the creature comforts, so to speak, including our much beloved air conditioning.  Oh boy are we thankful that we were able to go about our routines like nothing happened.  We’re supposed to get some more storms, but tis the season in the South and elsewhere.

So, they you have it, that’s our thankful for today.  What are you thankful for?  Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Wow, it’s great that your a/c is connected to the generator. When our generator was hooked in to the house, it could power everything except the big stuff (a/c and oven). I’m thankful that we don’t have too many thunderstorms.

I, Marvelous am thankful you guys are OK! Big storms are frightening.
We too had a vicious storm Sunday night! It blew through Vancouver and woke us up with the wind and thunder–but it tore up trees, knocked down power lines and blew off shingles and roofs all over southern BC! And the lightening and thunder! WoW! And you know what..that storm even hit Calgary on Monday afternoon (just about the same time as Kozmo, Jo Jo and Cinnamon got home). Ninja said it was SCARY!
I hope you guys don’t have too many more!

Those storms are rotters. We had a biggie on Monday. The cable kept going out but we were fine in the city but some peeps had flooding and trees toppled over. Hope they stay away for awhile for both our sakes.

That’s great that you have that generator! I bet it’s been helpful on more than one occasion, with the type of storms you guys get.

We’ve had a lot of thunderstorms lately and we’ve retreated under the bed most evenings.

We are thankful you survived the storms and have a generator.
Our weather is still strange. We have cool mornings and warm days.
This weekend though, the weather people put out a humidity warning for the weekend.
We will go from 16C to 29C. It will be hot and sticky. We are not looking forward to that.
At least we will not have thunderboomers.

Hi Brian – I’m thankful to hear that you all made it through the storm with only a power outage and no damage…..this definitely is “The Summer of Storms” I think……we’ve had a few whoppers too! Glad you are all OK…….

I’m totally with you, and am so grateful for air conditioning in the hot weather of North Carolina. Thank goodness you guys have a generator, and imagine it would have been super uncomfortable for that amount of time without one. Glad things are back to normal ! Hugs…RO

Generators sure are a win when the power goes out. Yeah, we’ll skip the rash of any kind haha

A whole house generator? That sounds awesome. When our power goes out, it’s out! We did get bad thunderstorms for a while but, right now, we are getting great weather.

Glad you have a generator. So far we have been lucky and haven’t lost our electric. It has been rough around these parts though. You all have a great Thursday. We are thankful to have you as our friends.

Losing power is always a bummer. Paws crossed as I say this, but ours has only gone out for a few minutes, a couple times in the past ten years. Good you have a generator if you lose it more often.

We get lots of thunder in the summer, too. Master Munchkin says Florida is the Lightening Capitol, so I guess it belongs here. >^.^<

We are thankful for that calm too, Brian. I am so jealous of your whole house generator!!!! We have a well with a well pump so we don’t even have running water when the power goes out. Fortunately, neither dog is afraid of thunderstorms… I hope that you have a thunderstorm-free day!

Having a generator in the south sounds like a must. I can’t imagine not having air conditioning for 12 hours. Glad it turned out okay.

Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥

Storms are scary! But I have some good news and something to be thankful for! Today I’m bringing home our new family member Blaze from the Oregon Humane Society. He is a 10-year-old boy who has had a hard life, but no more! It will be all kibbles and catnip from now on.

You are all very thankful for that generator! We lose power at least twice a year, for multiple hours (or days) at a time. A generator would be nice, but we don’t have whole-house a/c…yet…and figure we can live through fairly well. But we are getting old…and cranky…and who knows what The Hubby will do to the house next! Thanks for hosting every Thursday!

We too have those bad storms from late spring through early fall. We could use some rain but it seems like we get all the wind and noise and little rain.

We hope you all have much calmer days. Good idea to have that generator.
