Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: Feral Family Food Fun

thankful thursday blog hop brian 07262018Welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop,  We are always super happy when you stop by for our Blog Hop, really happy!  Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and today we delighted to do that once again. We really do get excited when we see new blogger pals hopping in for the first time too and your thankfuls always make us smile!

It’s been a while since I shared our feral family with you so today I’m going to share 2 videos.  If you’ve been with us a while, like since Brother Simon and Sister Seal joined the family, you’ll remember that we always wondered where Sister Seal came from.  There were never any kitties that looked like her around here, so it was a mystery.  Maybe we’ve solved that mystery.

In the front you will see our calico girl we creatively named Cali. She’s a real sweetie and although she still runs from the Dad, she doesn’t run very far. Behind her you will see Momma Seal, at least that’s what we’ve named her. Sister Seal watches her intently and meows at her sometimes.

Here’s an additional video with a good view of Momma Seal. She actually doesn’t run from the Dad as long as he doesn’t get overly close to her.

We’re thankful to have them as a part of our family, even if they do live outside.  We’re thankful when the come to eat and when they use their shelters during bad weather.  We always worry about them when they don’t show up.   Fortunately we can watch their comings and goings on our Feral Cam.

So what are you thankful for today?  Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

we are thankful for all the kitties we have had in our lives…most of them just showed up like Lucy did, some we found ourselves and some were brought to us…all have been equally loved and adored.
    Have a wonderful Thursday!

Those are great videos of the feral kitties. I bet that is Mama Seal. Our thankful this week is for air conditioning!

  3. Valentine

I guess Seal’s momma and papa are free spirits of nature. I’m glad too that they visit your home. Maybe someday they’ll retire and decide to put up permanent roots at your house. Purrs.

Momma Seal and Cali are adorable! I have always been surprised that you had a feral Siamese – I’m so glad that Seal could come live inside with you! All of your ferals are so lucky to have you all taking care of them!!

Brian we are thankful that with the changes you’re having with the blog your Thankful Thursday will go on because we LOVE reading all the thankfuls around the blogosphere every week! How interesting that you think you know who Sister Seal’s Mom is and she’s a visitor to your feral family buffet. I bet she knows that her little one – Seal – is safe and happy.

    Hugs, Teddy

I so agree, that is probably Seal’s Mom. We also are so thankful that you care for those feral cats. Feral cars are just the best. Hope all of you have a super day.

What a great thing the feral cam is. Hope they all stay safe and keep coming back. They are very fortunate to have you to support them.

  8. Jodi Stone

It’s always fun to determine when your furry friend came from. So question, do you trap and spay/neuter the ferals, and they just hang around outside?

  9. Ellen Pilch

That sure does look like Seal’s Mama. Maybe someday she will want to join your inside family. That cali is gorgeous, I feel bad for her, she was scratching a lot.

  10. Comedy Plus

What a wonderful thing to do. They are ever so precious and it’s people like you that make sure they are as safe as can be. This post made me smile..

Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. Scritches to all the peeps. ♥

I’m thankful for you and everyone else who supported my blog. I’m glad you solved the mystery of Mama Seal. Little Cali seems to have a little flea problem with the itchies.

  12. Tamago

Great videos! Cali and Momma Seal are both beautiful! Wonder what Sister Seal is trying to tell Momma Seal when she meows at her.
    Happy Thursday xo

Each one of us at (except for my little brofur Rabbit) came from the neighborhood Cat Colony. A few of us still feel a bit of feral in our blood, especially when the doorbell rings and strangers enter our house. Mom has cared for over 70 strays, many of them feral. Ferals are her specialty. She says there is no greater high than to win the trust of a feral, especially one who has held out for two years before allowing her to get close enough to pet. We at think yoo are wonderpurr!

We just love getting to know your feral family better. It makes us so happy to see them getting a nice meal and having somewhere safe to go. We’re so grateful you ensure that for them. Thank you for being so kind, caring, and compassionate! My dad’s helping me build a new and improved stray/feral cat shelter for my back yard, and I am so excited to have it finished for the kitties who come and go out there. Thank you for hosting this wonderful blog hop each week!

  16. The OP Pack

We just loved seeing the ferals in the videos. Momma Seal is beautiful – she sure has a full coat. And Cali has such a pretty face. You are so good to take such good care of them. Maybe one day they will let you touch them.

I love how you care for your feral family. I love that you have a good idea of who Sister Seal’s mother is. I hope that Mama Seal can hear the meows from the other side of the window.

  19. Marv

Hi Guys! I am thankful that you have shown us some pictures of the ferals! Does Momma Seal know that Seal lives inside?
And I am so furry thankful that you guys made it to my 2nd Birthday Pawty! It would not have been the same without you guys!

  20. Maggie

They are lucky to have the lives they have chosen, watched over by you!
The feral mom and daughter who lived on my deck for 12 years are gone now. I miss them, but I don’t miss the constant worry about them – especially during Connecticut Winters.

  21. Jan K

How wonderful to think that Sister Seal still has some family on the outside, and that you are all taking such good care of them! ♥

Sorry for the post we shared on the hop. I thought it was for a different blog hop, as it wasn’t really appropriate for Thankful Thursday. We are just getting back into blogging, and it may take a bit for us to sort which blog hops happen on which days/blogs.
