Mancat Monday: Tech Failures Sure Required Patience

mancat monday brian 07092018Hello everyone, it is Mancat Monday and we are sure hoping that this week will be better than the end of last week. Most of you know by now that our house was hit by lightening. Although the house is okay, some of the electrical systems are still wonky and we have no internet, phone or television, still. While I’m a very patient kind of guy, the Dad is slowly losing his patience, well, okay, he is quickly losing his patience.

We will have to recycle photos for this week as we don’’t have an easy way to access our photos since they are all stored in the cloud.  We did that so we wouldn’t lose any photos and we didn’t, but we can’t get to them without internet access.  Of course some of the current ones are on the laptop with Photoshop but we can’t send them to our mobile devices without the internet.  SIGH.

Typing out the blog using celluar takes about an hour to do one post and it’s sure a battery drainer.  We are doing our best to visit you as we can so we are sorry if we miss some of you.  There have been all kind of strangers in the house, which none of us like.  Even the firemen were here to do an infrared scan to make sure there were not any hot spots behinnd the walls.

We will catch up wth all of you as soon as we can.  Adopt cats, we deserve it!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrr! Zip! Later!

What a mess! How scary having the house hit by lightening, but thankfully there was no fire. No internet is bad. My mom would be crabby. She says she would go to a fast food joint, or coffee place with free WiFi if the internet was totally dead. Hope you can get the electrical situation worked out soon.

I am very relieved for you that there were no hot spots found! I used to get crabby on our old provider when I would lose it for a day at a time, so I can understand your dad losing his patience. It could have been so much worse though.

OMG! I’m so sorry, and thank goodness the family is all safe! I suffered for 4 days without phone, Internet and Cable, so I know exactly how you feel. For bloggers it’s very frustrating, and it caused me to get behind on a zillion other projects. Kudos to you for hanging in there, and hope things are back to normal soon. Hugs…RO

We are so glad you and your house are okay! We don’t mind recycled photos. Your photos are so gorgeous, honestly, we could look at them all again, and then again, and probably again. Every single one. Take care of yourselves!

It sounds like getting everything fixed and running again is a huge process after that lightning strike! No wonder your human is losing his patience. At least you don’t have any hot spots!

Oh dear, we hope you can get things fixed soon. What a pain trying to do things on mobile – I know I’d have a really hard time with that. I would lose patience quickly with no internet too! But we’re sure glad your house is OK other than the outages. Hang in there!

Mom says her brother’s home in Atlanta got struck by lightning also a few months ago and he had the same problem with electrical thingies. Took having an electrician come out and make it all right. WE hope your tech stuff gets sorted out very soon too.

When we lost power in March, 2017, I went to the local library to charge my phone and use the wifi! Plus, there were lights….
Here’s hoping things get worked out soon for you all!

Your blogging dedication is admirable. It’s good that everyone is being so thorough in making sure your home is safe after the big bolt hit you.

Our mom would be losing her mind by now! She can’t imagine trying to do a blog post on her phone. She can barely check her email on it. 🙂 We hope your electrical problems get fixed soon.

My mom had a house once that was hit by lightning, but all that happened was that the answering machine and a phone got fried (thankfully she’d unplugged everything else). Oh, and our old bro and sis Eddie and Sophie FLEW down into the basement and hid behind the washer and dryer for hours. We’re sorry to hear of your ongoing problems!

Whoa! Such unwanted excitement. Tell me about tech problems. Our router crapped out this morning. Pop was supposed to be working at home. He had to go and get a new router and then it took hours to figure out how to set it up. Uncle Vince set up the others for us. Our losing an entire day pales next to you losing an entire week. If you need anything done in PS, let us know.

Oh dear. I am certain that these technical difficulties are wearing on Dad’s patience. We get so accustomed to our ‘tools’ that it can feel almost impossible to live without them. I suppose it could be worse – the house could have burned down? Glad all the living are healthy after the ‘storm.’

Andrea and the Celestial Kitties

Good heavens, your tech problems are worse than mine! Hope you get back up and running soon!
