Welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, we are so happy you stopped by today and actually, we’re super thankful to be here since we’ve had all those problems when lightening hit our house. We always do look forward to Thankful Thursday so we can see all of the wonderful things you are thankful for too. We really are happy when we see new blogger pals hopping in to join us!
Today we are all very thankful that the normal has mostly returned. We have internet and TV once again so we don’t have to deal with blogging via cellular. We do have telephone service but no phone because it got fried, so we’ll have to by a new one, but that’s one way to stop the robo calls. Speaking of fried, our internet got fried and so did the main cables running to the house so the internet humans had to run new cabling. It’s still running through the yard but someone will be here to bury the cable soon. Our TV DVR box also got damaged and has been replaced. There were a couple of electrical ground fault plugs that had to be replaced. We also have a whole house generator and it took one of the biggest hits, of course it’s the most expensive thing too, but it was fixed yesterday.
We are super thankful for all of the workers who helped us get back to normal. Every single one of them was most helpful. They were all determined to get things working and from the looks of it, some of it wasn’t easy. Yes, it took longer that we would have liked, but in fairness we weren’t the only ones having problems. Normal is good and we sure are thankful for it.
What are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
The thing we’re most grateful for is that you are all safe! Stuff like cables and phones can always be replaced, but not kitty and human lives. So we are thankful you are okay (and also that those great workers have you up and running again. Hugs!
We are glad things are getting back to normal. It used to be so much less complicated, didn’t it?
That is such a scary thing! Lightening hit the house when my human brother Alex was little. It fried the TV and the telephone (pre cellular) and the electric furnace! The last one we did not know about until 2 months later! It left a big scortch mark on the roof and scared poor hissy old Licorice and Kokanee the woofie to bits (they were the only ones home),
I am so Thankful you guys are OK!
Purrs

That all sounds very expensive I hope insurance covered a lot of it. It’s great you’re getting everything up and running though, what a tedious hassle. I guess I’m thankful that didn’t happen to me.
I’m glad you’re back online! But that’s a bummer so many things got fried. 🙁
So glad you are (mostly) back up and running! Sounds like it was a true pain in the tail!
Can we be thankful for throwback Thursday? Cause that’s what we did today but we still want to be in the hop… 🙂
I’m so glad Mr. Normal is with you now…. hugs to you all, now you can enjoy a normal happy weekend ;O)
I am glad you have your normal back again. You don’t realise how much you rely on things until they aren’t working! We have a big electric pylon in a nearby field which regularly takes lightning strikes. It doesn’t normally cause a problem, but very occasionally it will bounce of to the transformer that supplies our electric. We had numerous phones fried over the years. Now as soon as we hear a rumble of thunder we disconnect it.
We are thankful that things are returning to normal for you.
Power really does make life easier.
We are also thankful our temperatures have fallen a little and it is not as hot and sticky.
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
I am VERY Thankful that you are all put back together again and that no peep or furbaby was hurt…a lightning strike is scary stuffs!!!1

You really got zapped. Great that there are people that can fix things. Without them, we’d be back in the dark ages.
Happy to know (and thankful, too!) that all is returning to normal … around and about Brian’s “HOME” …
keep those paws away from cables!
We sure are glad to hear that things are almost back to normal for you. We have been thinking about you even if we didn’t manage to meow the fact. We are thankful our Mom is helping us blog again.
That is such good news that everything is working again. Bet you are all one happy bunch. Now have a great day.
Glad you are almost all the way back to normal!!
We are thankful the house itself wasn’t damaged. You are all very lucky, and we are glad things are getting back to normal for you.
I am thankful your house did not catch on fire.
We’re so glad that things are getting back to normal at your house, Brian. It just confirms how powerful lightning can be.
SOOOOO happy that you have almost everything fixed after the lightning strike. I’m sure that was just terrible to deal with but YAY for helpful repair people!!! That’s a BIG Thankful indeed.
Hugs, Teddy
Glad things are finally getting back to normal. Thanks for hosting 🙂
Meow, meow, mewow! Mr. M always warned me about the horrors of lightening! I guess my staff listened to him because they installed a ‘whole house circuit breaker’ when I was very little. The thing looks like any other circuit breaker on the panel, but it’s actually a sort of whole house surge protector. This is the official description: Murray’s SPD device provides whole house surge protection by protecting your entire load center. This device takes up the space of two standard single pole breakers, but also includes two single pole breakers so you do not lose any space in… Read more »
Wow, that’s a whole lot of damage but, so happy no fire. Gotta hate those robo calls, thank goodness for caller-I’d id!
Yay for normal!! What a relief it must be to be getting things back to status quo!
xoxo,
Rosy, Arty & Jakey
No one was hurt; that’s the most impawtant thing! We’ve lost TV’s and electric mattress pads, just from power surges, so can imagine that being hit by a bolt of lightning would do. We are thankful that the dust is beginning to settle on this surprise adventure for the household (and for the wallet…)
My goodness, you all have had so much going on lately. We are so glad you’re all safe, that all is nearly back to normal, and now we hope it stays that way. Sending you all lots and lots of purrs and prayers!
I’m thankful that things are almost back to normal for you. Having those issues aren’t fun. I do like that you haven’t been bother by all the robo calls though. That’s a silver lining.
Thank you for hosting Thankful Thursday.

Glad things are back to normal. We forget sometimes how we rely on common things and how much we miss them when they’re gone. No internet? Yikes!
Mom remembers when our 100+ year old oak came down in a storm, hit a power line and took out the power in the whole neighborhood and fried a bunch of stuff in our house. It is a pain in the fanny to get everything fixed and replaced. The best is that you were all safe and no one was hurt. Here’s to “normal!” Our thankful is that Misty May’s eye is getting better and Sawyer hasn’t had a seizure in a few days. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy… Read more »
Meowza! You guys have had some bad luck lately! The Female Human is afraid of lightening ever since it hit her house when she was little. The Tribe of Five don’t mind the lightening so much but that loud thunder stuff…no thank you!
So glad things are getting back to normal in our house and as far as we’re concerned, sitting in the sink is very normal!
Purrs & Head Bonks,
Lily & The Tribe of Five

What a pain in the tail for you eh? I’m glad you are getting back to normal now (isn’t normal the best thing ever).
Yay, we’re so glad you’re getting back to normal around there! We hope that insurance might cover some of the expenses? We know it’s not easy having strangers around the house, but it’s a good thing when they are helpful strangers!
I’m sure you will be so relieved when all those problems are in the past!
