Dang, we’re moving into September really soon, where does the time go? Anyways, we sure do look forward to reading about all of the things you are thankful for and we sure love it when we see new blogger pals hopping in to join us!
Today I’m thankful for solving a tech puzzle, with the Dad’s help of course. My Dad likes to say that he has been involved with information technology since way back when they just had information and no technology to go along with it. So, it’s pretty frustrating to the Dad, and me, when something simple like leaving comments on blogs doesn’t work. We’ve had an issue with about a dozen WordPress blogs. No matter what we did the comments didn’t stick.
Well, we found something that works for us and maybe it will work for you too if you are having the same problem. Here’s what we do, when we get to a comment box on a WordPress blog you may or may not see your login information below the comment box, as if it’s already filled out. We click on the link that says “change” and sometimes it is blank and sometimes it is filled out with our email address, name and URL. Whether it is completed or not, we fill it in again and click on Submit Comment. Dang, it works just about every single time for us.
So, I’m really thankful to solve this little tech puzzle because I don’t like my friends to think I am ignoring their fabulous blogs. What are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Sometimes when we go back later in the day, we can comment no problem. Huh

We hate annoying little tech problems too, we’re thankful we got our laptop up and running again a while ago! Yay for you too! WordPress seems to be touchy to us..
That is handy to know. There are a couple of blogs where I have noticed my comment disappear.
We’ve had that issue in the past, never tried the change button though. Good tip indeed.
Good for your Dad figuring that mystery out! I know that since we kept my Mom’s google account as our “commenting voice” we’ve been able to comment on BlogSpot blogs without filling out the TEST to pick cars or sidewalks, etc. That’s made it a lot quicker for us to visit everyone and comment!! Wonder why things have to be so complicated in the blogosphere sometimes don’t you? Glad you’re all set now with WP blogs since WE are one of those!!!!!!

We have one WP blog where we can’t comment. We tried several things but nothing worked. Finally we opened it in another browser and bam! We can comment there. Frustrating.
We are thankful for tech savvy friends like you that give us tips, we will try your comment fix. Today Chi is thankful for jackets that make a nest.

You’d think it would be something WordPress would fix. At present it doesn’t encourage anyone to have a WordPress blog if commenting is difficult. But I’m so glad “techy dad” has found a workaround!
Your comment blog is no problem for me, and my data is always profiled, but I get annoyed with other WP blogs when I have to type my info in all the time, Thanks for sharing dads findings.

I have a hard time again with many WP blog. . It just wouldn’t stick onto the page no matter how many times mom and I tried. We keep trying. I am Blogspot but my comments rarely work on WP blogs. Yours always works. I have to go around the mulberry bush to attempt to use my old WP blog to make a comment on WP blogs. OK. I’ll quit now. 🙂

I discovered that i often need to put https:// in front of my URL address to get comments to ‘stick’.

There definitely seems to be some weird stuff going on with a lot of blogs and commenting lately. While I’ve been able to comment, there are a lot that I have to fill out my information on every single time, when it used to just come up automatically. It’s just annoying, but at least we can comment.
Good job by your Dad to find a way around your issue!
Thanks for the tip. We can never figure out why we have to keep entering our info on some of the blogs where we have checked off the box that says to remember the info. Very strange. But it only takes a little bit of time to re-enter the info. It is worth it to visit our pals.

Mom is happy/thankful the excavator has shown up; though, no work has started. She says she is going to remain skeptical until there is more than a hole in the ground and piles of dirt, neither of which we have yet! It’s the Blogspot comments we have trouble leaving. We will get half way through writing it, and it just disappears. Have you had that problem? We’re glad to read you guys got your techie issues figured out. Myy Goodness sometimes even the simplest of things just become a complete frustration. Mom and I so understand. (This week we’ll be thankful for the AC guy to get her and replace the thermostat here @ our house. Yups sometimes it’s just the simplest of things…

Whoa! I hate the WP blogs where I have to type my info over and over. I’m thankful your blog isn’t like that. TW did put my info into Chrome’s autofill which is making it much easier.
