Welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop,the first one for October. We are sure happy to see you today and it’s time for us to post about things we are thankful for, as we do every Thursday. We sure do look forward to reading about all of the things you are thankful for too and we sure love it when we see new blogger pals hopping in to join us!
Now for my thankful part I’m going to turn it over to the Dad so he can update you. Take it away Dad.
Hello everyone, Dad Terry here. We always post Thankful Thursday on Wednesday evening so those in a different time zones can see it early on. I’ll try to keep the days straight. Brian went for his dental today (Wednesday).
Brian is not home, he has to spend tonight (Wednesday) in the hospital and should be able to come home tomorrow (Thursday). Our poor boy has really bad tooth resporption and had to have half of his teeth extracted, yes, 15 of his 30 teeth. We feel so bad for him, he had to be in so much pain, but, as cats do, he hid it well and only complained a wee bit recently.
So today we’re thankful that his dental is over and our sweet boy will be dealing with a lot less pain soon. That’s a great big thankful for sure. We are also thankful that he has a good Dentist and is at an AAHA facility that can manage his post-surgical care throughout the night. Please send dear Brian your purrs, prayers and POTP for easy healing.
What are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Brian, I remember when Kali had her teeth removed. Bad scene! She was left with 4 teeth. She felt so much better after she got over the surgery. She ate most foods like dry crumbles…small ones. She did prefer pate to chunks though. Kali had the same problem as you have. My thoughts are with you Brian my friend.
Shoko
Pocket went through the same procedure. She was fine the next day. Maybe a little too active. Sending prayers
We’re glad Brian is going to be okay. Our Ava has to have a dental soon, too. It’s no fun, but surely it is better than the pain they feel before the dental. Sending lots of purrs and prayers.
Poor Brian! I’m glad the vet took care of all that awful stuff going on in his mouth. You are right, we kitties are really good at hiding things! I’m sure he’ll be feeling MUCH better as soon as he recovers.
We’re glad to hear everything went well for you, Brian ! You’re so brave ! We send you tons of healing purrs and hope you feel better soon. Purrs
Brian we are glad that efurrything went well and we hope you can go home today to spend a relaxing weekend with your pawrents and your sibling…
We are thankful that Brian has you looking after him, even if it means taking him to the Vet.
We are sure he will come home feeling much better though 🙂
He will be a happy kitty again.

Dear Brian ~ this is a note from Zoey, who knows all about “toofs” and shares your pain. Hoping you feel better real real soon (no crunchies just yet please), and don’t drink really c-c-cold water! We know your family is going to take very good care of you and guess what: the Toof Fairy is sure to leave lots of great things under your pillow. After all, she’s getting quite a collection from you when she comes to visit! We from Zoolatry love you and send you a gentle hug (a hug around the middle, not the head). ZOEY,… Read more »
Oh my goodness, the pain! Thank goodness it’s been resolved and Brian will be back home soon for more perfect pictures. You’re such a great dad, Terry, and the cat world needs more people like you. Hppy Thursday and Hugs…RO
They hide it so well. Hopefully he is pain free and happy as can be when he returns.
Oh my! I am thankful you won’t be in pain all the time any more!
Oh my goodness, that is terrible. The poor boy! Hope he feels better soon. Sending our thoughts and lots of catnip.
Oh Brian, we are so so sorry you had a rough time with your teeth. But you will feel better soon. There are three of us here that have all their teeth taken out and we even eat dry food. Not at first but down the road some. We sure will keep our paws crossed that you are feeling much better and soon. Bet you will be so glad to get home.
OH my, poor Brian, we are thankful his dental is behind him and we are sending him tons of healing purrs and lots of love. Scylla will be right over to cuddle with him.
Gosh! That is a lot of teeth in one go! We hope that our buddy Brian will come home as planned today and is feeling a lot better.

Oh poor Brian! We hope he’s feeling better now that those nasty toofs are gone.
Oh poor Brian! That is a lot of teeth to lose, but I hope that you will soon feel so much better. Sending lots of love and good wishes to you.
You get well soon, Brian. Prayers for a speedy recovery. I just know you’ll be enjoying a pain free mouth and soon. You have great peeps that make sure you’re as healthy as you can be and I’m thankful for that.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥
Poor Brian! Tell him the tooth fairy will send him something extra special after all he went through. XO
I for one am really thankful for the fact the Brian is doing well and life will be pain free for him.
We hope the Tooth Fairy is well-stocked with lots of love and goodies for Brian when he is up to it. He has all the POTP we can muster for a good recovery. We knew he will be getting the best of care from Mom and Dad and lots of good company from his kitty family. We have had to postpone Lightning’s dental due to his surgery tomorrow.
Feel better, pal.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Oh noes, Brian! Something tells me that you are going to be a lot happier after you heal from this experience, big guy! Bad teefs make for grouchy cats…and humans! Sending you some hugs and purrs so you feel better a bit quicker!
oh poor thing!!!! Dental pain is awful. I hope you’re up and chewing again really soon Brian
Oh, sweet Brian, we’re purring hard for you to heal fast and hope you don’t miss all those teefs that were probably not doing you any good.
Oh your poor kitty! I’m glad you were able to get those teeth extracted, I’m sure it had to be pretty expensive. We had two pulled on one of our senior collies and I remember that bill!
It’ll take a few days, but he is going to feel SO MUCH BETTER! Spitty had 12 extracted a couple years ago and I couldn’t believe how much happier he was after. Poor boy, he will feel better soon, and I know he’s going to get LOTS of TLC from his People! XOXOXO
Sending sweet Brian lots and lots of purrs, love, and POTP. I’m glad that he’ll be in less pain soon. The tooth fairy is going to leave him a lot of treats (15 teeth worth!). I’m so glad that he’s in good paws for his after-surgery care.
Oh my, I hope Brian feels better soon. Sounds like some serious cuddling and spoiling is in his future. And, maybe new toy or some soft kitty treats….or both! 🙂
OMC! That is awful news. How are you going to bite your peeps, Brian? TW thinks I may be hiding some dental issues. There’s no particular reason. Now that Dr. D. is in a clinic about 20 miles from us, it’s such a production to get there and I’m told I don’t make it easier.
Poor baby! Now the owey’s will be gone and it will get much better. You’ll probably bounce back faster than your Dad will – it’s hard on a pet parent to see their little ones in pain – be extra nice to him for a while. Purrrs
Sending purrs and prayers.
Oh my, 15 teefies! Poor fella, but I bet he’s going to feel so much better!

Oh Brian I’m so sorry you have such a sore mouth from so many teeth being pulled……I know this resorption thing is really bad but you are such a brave boy to not have let on you were hurting until you just HAD to. Now you should be feeling better even if it hurts from the surgery. We are sending you a ton of POTP…..and hugs for being so brave.
Love, Teddy
Oh my word Brian…gentle head taps and hugs as you recover.

That sucks losing half your teeth but if it helps him to be healthy and pain-free than it is worth it.

Oh dear, poor Brian! No wonder he looked mad in that photo we saw on FB today. (just kidding). We think that photo said he was now home, and we hope he recovers quickly and easily. ♥
Praying for a quick recovery and no more dental work needed.

Feel better soon dude!
Purrs
Marv, Ninja (and Mom)
Oh my goodness, that was not your typical “dental”. I’m glad Brian is doing well. Hopefully he’ll have an easy recovery.
Oh, Brian, you poor sweetie. We hope you’re starting to feel a bit better now, 2 days after the surgery. Nicki and Derry both have lost many teeth, but not 15 at once! (Derry is down to having only 14, he lost 5 more in June with his most recent dental.) But 15 is an awful lot to lose in one go and would hurt so much. Purrs and purrayers and lots of healing universal Light!
Kim and the boys
Oh, no…poor Brian! I hope he has a quick and complete recovery!
Oh my, that’s great news. Sorry your cat had to go through all that pain. 🙁 <3
Brian, because of things here I missed that you had the dental and had to stay even longer. I am so sorry, sweet boy. I send lovins and more lovins straight from mom and me to you. Love you.
Hang in there, Brian ! We hope you start feeling better soon – and with those bad teeth gone you should feel a LOT better.

Fifteen is a lot of teeth to lose but, as you write, Brian will feel much better soon: a whole new cat, I’ll bet. My foster-cat, Parker, was more active and playful after his teeth were removed. Even so, there is worry and anxiety; surgery is surgery, and it never seems minor or major – it’s just an ordeal – when someone we love is involved.
Oh, Brian…we just heard about your dental procedure. I’m so sorry to hear you needed so many teeth removed. That’s not an easy procedure, for sure. Katie went through something similar, but not as many extractions earlier this year. We hope you’re recovering well and getting used to how new your mouth must feel. We also hope your kitty pals are doing ok with the strange smells. We know it can take a while before you are comfortable grooming again.
Sending you our biggest purrs for a speedy recovery!
(((love)))
