Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: My Fireplace Is Ready for the Holidays

thankful thursday blog hop brian 11292018Welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, we are always so very happy to see you! It’s time for us to post about things we are thankful for, and I am ready to tell you about what I’m thankful for today. We sure do look forward to reading about all of the things you are thankful for too and we sure love it when we see new blogger pals hopping in to join us!

Several times I mentioned how much I love our fireplace. A few of you asked if it a real fireplace and the easy answer is no, it’s an electric fireplace. But it does happen to sit in front of a real fireplace that we don’t use.  But I do love, love, love my fireplace, it’s an excellent place for toasted buns MOL!  I’m not a cold weather kitty so when it’s cold you’ll find me parked right here throughout the day and night, when I’m not snuggling with Mom of course.

During the holidays I have an extra responsibility that goes along with my fireplace parking.  Yes, my task is to guard the Nativity Scene that is on top of the fireplace.

thankful thursday blog hop brian 2 11292018I do take this responsibility quite seriously and am not going to let any kitty up on top of the fireplace to rearrange or whap at anything. The Mom says I do a great job too and I’m happy she approves, especially since it was her that gave me this role.

So, today I’m thankful that my fireplace is now a Christmas Fireplace and I really do like to look at the Nativity Scene, look but don’t touch. What are you thankful for today? Tell me in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

I’m thankful you have your fireplace. TW said that’s a beautiful manger. Don’t worry. I won’t mess it up.

Warmth….we love it. However, our warmth would probably be too cold for you hot house flowers. After a brisk frolic in the backyard we like to sit in the sun. If, it can be found. Mom very seldom turns the gas fire place on as then the heat centers only in the livingroom and the bedrooms are like ice.

Brian – we have a real fireplace, and there is nothing more delightful than the crackling sound of a fire, and watching the dancing flames. But your fireplace is truly special with the placement of the Nativity scene – front and center, as it should be. One of our cats has recently taken to sitting on top of the vents when the furnace is on – that’s one way to warm up!

I guess your electric fireplace doesn’t get hot on top, otherwise you’d be baking the baby Jesus. We have a traditional fireplace, but we never use it because it doesn’t do anything to help keep the house warm. I am thankful for central heat and floor vents that I can sleep on.

That fireplace and Nativity scene are awesome, Brian. We have our tree up and decorated, and we are thankful that Ava has decided it is fun being under the tree, but is showing no inclination to climb. (This is her first Christmas with a tree, so we wondered how it would go)

That looks like a lovely fireplace, Brian. We have a real fireplace but have not used it for a while due to Tama’s coughing issues.

Meowser, Brian, thank you for hosting this hop. Katsu is infatuated with your fireplace, probably because the past few nights have been chilly. (38 yesterday & 42 today!!!) I’ve never seen it so chilly, either, but it is invigorating an my ‘nip harvest is speeding along. Er, meow, sorry for getting distracted. Katsu doesn’t want to get out of bed (stay tucked under the covers) so he’s no help with harvest. Where can I get a fireplace like that? I betcha he’d get out of bed to warm his buns there…. then purrhaps, he’d would help me.

We like our fireplaces too, but for a different reason. Mom and Dad don’t use the fireplaces, but the hearths are made of cool, shiny tiles. Those tiles feel so good on our bellies – Misty and Timber.

We all think you have a very beautiful Nativity Scene. We have ours under the tree and Mom is always amazed (and thankful) that none of us bother it. We do sniff it but no nibbles:)

We have a fireplace, but Mom Paula hasn’t lit a fire since we came to live with her. It’s a wood burning fireplace. She said she needs to have it cleaned before she tries to build a fire again. She wants to get a gas-log fireplace.

Fireplaces are just the best to get your buns warm and toasty. We dislike the cold weather too, but we love seeing you all comfy in front of yours. You look like you are doing an excellent job with protecting the fireplace from the other ones. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful day.

What a pawsome firebox you have. Purrfect for keeping warm.
We are sure you do a great job of protecting that Nativity scene too 🙂
We are thankful that mum is home today(more vacation).
WE lost our power this morning and did lots of snuggling.
The power came back on about 1PM and we were thankful for the furnace 😉

That’s a great place for your Nativity Set, i am glad you protect it. Right now i am thankful for the lidocane pain patch on my back.

Amber DaWeenie and Mom

We have one of those electric fireplaces too. Our television sits on top of it. BUTT we have one very BIG problem. Mom and Dad NEVER use it as a heating fireplace because where I live, the A/C is always on. What’s up with that? Will Santa still come down the electric fireplace if he freezes his whiskers off when he lands in our living room?????

Brian, you’re so lucky. The whole time we lived in PA, the lady wanted a fireplace like that but never got one. We had a real one but only used it a few times. Your nativity scene is beautiful. You’re good to guard it so well from kitty whaps.

Charlee: “We have a fireplace! But it’s never turned on.”
Chaplin: “Something about Mama and Dada not being sure if it’s gas or wood and never bothering to find out.”
Charlee: “Those great big brains, and they can’t answer a simple question like that.”
Chaplin: “It’s like they don’t want to sit in front of a nice warm fireplace or something!”
