Mancat Monday: New Year’s Eve with the Christmas Tree

mancat monday brian 12312018

Well gang, it’s Mancat Monday, the last one of 2018 and I must say I’m not overly sad to say goodbye to 2018, it sort of stunk a bit, but that’s okay, we have a whole to year to look forward to so 2019, we’ll see you tomorrow and we’ll get started. That sounds like a plan to me, what about you?

Although I won’t miss 2018 I will miss the Christmas Tree. We always take our tree down on the first day of the new year. O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, I will miss you will you miss me? Some of our other Christmas Decorations stay out a bit longer so at least we’ll have something festive hanging around. I really do like some of the goodies up on the fireplace mantle but I can’t get up there to check them out closely. Oh, I probably could but the Mom told me that was not a good idea.

Of course living in the South means fireworks for any holiday and sometimes with no holiday at all. New Year’s Eve is a time for lots of fireworks right across the street from us. The good news is that the weather guessers are forecasting rain. There’s two bits of bad news that goes along with the good news though. First, our weather guessers aren’t right very often and second, even if they are right that just means the fireworks will go off later when we least expect it. SIGH.

We’ll be heading off to find a hidey hole as soon as it gets dark, just in case. What about you, do you have any big plans for New Year’s Eve? See y’all next year. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

My human hated 2018 for a lot of reasons, but she is probably better off without the things she lost this year. Plus 2019 is promising new beginnings.

Brian, I have mixed feelings like I do every year this time. 2018 surely was filled with way too much stuff that I’m glad is now history and things I don’t want to have to go through again any time soon. I’m eager to see how 2019 pans out. I’m going into expecting great things and to finally securing a new place to call home. *cross fingers, say a prayer* Our plans are to stay home. There are too many crazies out to get caught up in and since I like me too much then I don’t want to be… Read more »

2018 was a meh year here, better than some though. Rain and snow here, so maybe the fireworks will go kaput here too, yeah, doubtful with stupid humans nearby.

We are bracing ourselves for the fireworks around here but hopefully not many. They are very scary. Good luck to all of you and hope it is a quiet night for you..

We have a bit of fireworks here, but not much. I hope you’re happily surprised by no fireworks at all.

You will have another Christmas tree next year.

Our tree came down yesterday. It was rather unceremonious – unplug it and put it in a box. We’re hoping for a quiet New Year’s Eve without too many idiots and their firecrackers.

Brian, we haven’t heard about your dad…is he feeling better? We certainly hope so! Yes, 2018 was unhappy in lots of ways, especially at your place and we are sending hugs and purrs to you cats and to your humans too. Happy ‘Mew’ Year!

Our decorations stay until Twelfth Night, (January 5th). You should persuade your dad to keep the tree until then.
Happy New Year to you, your brother and sisters, and of course to your mum and dad too.

We are not sad to see 2018 go, and we hope the new year brings better things for everyone. Enjoy your last night with your tree, and we hope things stay quiet. Luckily it’s too cold here for people to be setting off fireworks, though we are also expecting rain, maybe snow, probably just a big mess!
We will say Happy New Year and hope it turns out to be so! ♥

We hope you have a quiet(and wet) New Year’s Eve!

We are having a quiet day at home with lots of rain, sleet, and cold temps. We too are hoping the weather will keep the zany fireworker fools away.

Happy New Year!

We have fireworks going on here already for about two weeks. My mom is hoping—I call it daydreaming—that they all ran out of explosives by now and it won’t be too bad tonight.
Brian, find a good hiding place and cuddle up with everybody.

I was just thinking that same thing about how those nasty loud flashy sparky things will go off later if not tonight, my furry friend. Mmmppff. Find a good place to hunker down you guys, maybe someone will put some treats and toys in your hidey holes. I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but you are sooo handsome!
Happy New Year to you and the kitty sibs and mom and dad!

We have fireworks here, too. Some peabrains even shoot off guns. Maybe this year it will be quieter since it’s way below freezing here, but some humans are just too dim for words. Anyway, Happy New Year!

We won’t miss 2018 either but expect the same old same old only one year later. Unless our tree is dead, the peeps leave it up until Jan. 6.

No big plans, we just have to wait until after the fireworks to go to bed so i can work tomorrow. It’s probably going to be a very sleepy day tomorrow.

We live next to a pyromaniac who likes to set off fireworks for holidays too! I’ll begin deconstructing Christmas today. That tends to take days to complete! Since I’m reading lost posts backwards, I’ve already wished you and yours all the best for the new year…..but Ill do it again because one cannot have too many good wishes.

The people who live behind us set off fireworks for all occasions, and New Year’s Eve was no exception. They were very loud and some of us freaked out a bit. We are so sorry your tree is down. Ours will stay up a bit longer; though, we do no have unlimited access to it. 2018 was pretty sucky in a lotto aspects, so we hope 2019 is better for all of us.
