Hello everyone, it’s Sister Saturday with me Sister Seal…the Shadow Dancer! No, sorry, you don’t get to see me shadow dance today, but I will tell you about it in a bit. For now though, I’m just taking it a bit easy here on the carpet by the cat tree. Oh, if the shadows come back I’ll be off in a flash though, no doubt about that.
Shadows? Darn right there are shadows and sometimes some strange lights too. Let me tell you about them. You see, it all started a couple of weeks ago in the small bathroom down at the end of the hall. The lights in the small bathroom stopped working. Well, that’s not actually true, the lights work but the switch that turns them on quit working. Bummer. It was dark in there, really dark. The Dad was going to have to fix that switch or, as Brother Brian said, he had to switch the switch.
In the mean time, we did need some light in the small bathroom. We have some outside flood lights that work on batteries and come on only when motion is detected. We had a spare one so the Dad set it up on the counter in the small bathroom. It wasn’t overly bright but it was light. Guess what? When someone went in there that strange light created the best shadows on the walls that yours truly loves to pounce at them…way up the wall. The Dad even does some hand puppets and I pounced up the wall at them…lots. Better yet, if the Dad leans down the light catches his glasses and the most fun lights appear on the walls. DOUBLE POUNCE.
Hey, guess what? The Dad fixed the light switch but I enjoy the shadows so much that the Dad left the temporary light on the counter so he can walk in and play shadows with me. Wasn’t that nice, it’s my most favorite thing to do. You might thing I only get to play when the Dad or Mom go into the small bathroom. Wrong! I learned how to hop up on the counter, create some motion and turn the light on all by myself. That way I can go pounce at my own shadows. Drat, they’re gone by the time I get to the wall though.
That’s it for me today and I hope your Saturday is super fun. I’m off to shadow dance now. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Shadow dancing sounds like a really fun game!
That sounds like a very fun game. You are smart to have learned to make the light come on by yourself.
That does sound like such a good game, the shadow dancing. You all have a super Saturday.
Sounds like lots of fun indeed. Those shadows sure are hard to catch.
What a fun way to play! Maybe the Dad could dangle some toys from the ceiling so there would be more shadows even when no people are in there.
Wow, what a good game! You are very smart Sister Seal to figure out how to get it working and to wrap your Dad around your little toe to leave it in there for you – MOL!
OH I love shadows too. Your shadows are a lot more fun than mine, Sister Seal…
You are one smart kitty to figure out how to make your own shadows to play with! Olive loves a good shadow, too.
Dancing is a wonderful pastime, Seal! We hope you go on enjoying for a long, long time!

Very cool that you got to keep that lamp even after things were repaired – now you can shadow dance on your own any time you want to!
Hugs, Teddy
What a fun game! Maybe you can teach your siblings how to play too.
Chasing shadows seems to be a lot of fun for kitty cats…you are so gorgeous sweet Seal we had a hard time thinking about the shadows…we were looking at you. Hugs and nose kisses you all have wonderful weekend.
Hey there Blue Eyes, you are one clever kitty. There are still marks on the bathroom wall from my guest cat pouncing at my hand every time I turned the bathroom switch on or off. I think that was his favorite thing but the Shadows game sounds like endless fun, especially when you throw some prism effects in there.
you have a most thoughtful Daddy, he sooo understands kitties!
That sounds like fun. How sweet of your Dad to leave that light there for your enjoyment.
Sister Seal, what a smart girl you are to figure out how to make those shadows! It sounds like a very fun game.
That sounds like lots of fun!
I wish we dogs could shadow dance.
Now Sister Seal, you can’t go and tell us all about your fun and not show us!!! We need a video!!!
