It’s time for our Thankful Thursday Blog and it’s just a few short days before Easter gets here. For those of you who celebrate, are y’all ready for Easter? See, I already got sidetracked. Thanks to each of you for stopping by today. We always have something to be thankful for to share with you and we really do enjoy reading about the things you are thankful for too. If you’re new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, we get super excited when we see new blogger pals hopping in to join us!
Anyway, no I’m not grumpy. I was trying to take a snooze and Brother Simon just went running by like his tail was on fire. Beats me, but he sure was in a hurry. Okay, I know, I really need to get off of the weather topic, and I will, but it tis the season here. Remember on Monday I blogged about the importance of having an emergency plan? Yes, we were practicing for a weather emergency.
Just to update you, we actually did have one on Sunday evening, but we weren’t real sure about it until later in the day on Monday. Of course our Monday blog was long since done. Sunday evening, around 9:30 PM, we were placed in our carriers and then carried one by one to our small interior bathroom. Then some of the great big bed pillows were placed over us. Then the Mom and Dad came in and shut the door. A little while later the Dad went and checked and it looked and sounded like things had settled down. So, we came out and resumed normal kitty duties around 10:15 PM.
We found out, after the National Weather Service investigators were around for a damage assessment, that there was an EF1 tornado that breezed by us and made several touchdowns along the way, a few of which were pretty darn close to where we live. We didn’t hear anything really scary but it was out there. We’re all most thankful that nothing happened at our place or in our neighborhood. About five minutes away was a bit of a mess.
So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

We lived in a town once where a tornado flattened all the houses on one side of the street but didn’t touch the ones on the other side. They are very scary. Be glad that you are so well taken care of.
Easter has just popped up so fast. Actually it is hard to believe that it is mid April already. Been living in my own little world for months now so it surprises me to realize how fast things are moving along. OH NO on the weather stuff. So glad that mom and dad look after you and the other kitties like they do and made sure that you all were safe. Makes my heart happy to know that. Glad all is well.
Whoa. That’s real scary, Brian. We sure are glad you have an emergency plan, and that the tornado bypassed you. That happened to us last year … a tornado was headed our way, and lifted off the ground about a mile from our house.
I’m glad you were all okay and didn’t get scared. You all did a great job training your peeps on what needs done.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
You all have a safe and fun Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥
We are not big on Easter, though we keep trying ta catch that Bunny like we try to catch Santa Clause. Some Day…
How scary! I’m glad you all came through safely, and the tornado didn’t hit you.
My goodness, Brian dear furiend, I’m so very glad to know that you escaped that nasty tornado! Stay safe, dear furiend. Also, before I forget, thank you for hosting this blog hop.
Have a happy Easter!
we are thankful too that there was no huge damage and no hurt peeps and pets…. we hope the weather will improve a little and the storms will slow down before they reach ourt villages and towns…
We do not live in an area that gets tornadoes. We are happy for that as they sound very scary.
Good to hear that you were not affected and your folks took precautions with you 🙂
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
Whoa, that’s scary. We have our weather radio here so we can stay informed. After what happened around here this past year I don’t put anything past mother nature.
So glad you were all OK with that scary tornado. Angel Sammy and my Mom and Dad were lucky with the tornado that came through here too some years ago. They are scary but the key is being PURRRRPARED which you all were! Thanks for hosting Thankfuls – we ALWAYS have something to be thankful for!
Hugs, Teddy
Glad you made it through.
We hate scary weather like that! So glad you all are okay!
We hope Brother Simon’s tail fire got put out. That sounds scary. And thanks for letting us join your blog hop! Xena and Lucy. Pee S Happy Easter and may the bunny leave you good to eat things.
We re so thankful that the tornadoes didn’t come here. That was a pretty scary day. You all have a really good day.
We have tornadoes here, and they are so scary. A few years ago, according to Mom, one did a lot of damage just over a mile from out house. Stay safe!
Glad you were safe from the tornado, we had some heavy winds Saturday night and a few tree limbs fell down but other than that not much more. They were small limbs so Mom will pick them up and put them on the burn pile and everything will be good as ever.
I’m so thankful y’all are o.k. Tornado season is SO SCARY! I love the look on your face this morning, Simon must have been moving at a super high speed – MOL!
Brian,
Oh, that sounds like a scary situation to be in! It makes me think of the time I was a teenager visiting my uncle & his wife in Columbus Ohio one summer and that was my first tornado experience. Although, I don’t think one actually touched down. We road the warning out in the basement of my aunt’s sister’s family. Tennessee gets them but in East Tennessee, we’re blessed to have rare ones that pop up. I’m glad y’all are okay. Thanks for joining me this morning in my latest A2Z Little Mermaid art sketch ‘Pearl’!
I am glad you are all safe. You have such good parents. Thanks for hosting. Have a wonderful day. XO
We’re thankful for YOU and all the very smart things you share with us …
You have good parents. My mom decided to put me in the hallway or under the house in the crawl space if there is time. Our place is very small so we both have thought hard. WE get a lot of tornados in our area. They call it Dixie Alley.
THAT is so scary!! I’m glad your mom and dad paid attention and took precautions, I can’t even imagine how scary that was for them. You really do have something to be thankful for today!
Wow, missing a tornado, now that’s something to be thankful for! I’ve seen on tv the kind of devastation they can wreak. So happy you folks escaped it.
I just love your bench and and thankful you share it with your fans every now and then.
More crazy weather passing thru the south tomorrow. Just April and I’m sick and tired of storms
Hugs Cecilia
Oh, those youngsters! Glad that your family was safe from the tornado, but I’m betting that your humans were pretty alarmed!

Beautiful Brian!
OH goodness that was scary to hear. WE hope no one gets hurt in those nasty storms. WE hear some bad weather is headed our way tomorrow. *sigh* We thank you for stopping by today with a comment, it was what Mom needed to hear.
Oh wow, glad to hear things are alright.
I’m glad the tornado missed you. I had cousins whose house was barley clipped by a tornado. A few feet in the wrong direction could have destroyed the house.
That had to be really scary. Glad it went by you and you could all come out and resume normal activities!!
The Florida Furkids
We are all very thankful that you are all OK. We figured those storms had to be pretty close to you. Stay safe, and good thing for that plan.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Oh, that’s so scary! We are also thankful you are all OK. I remember one time a few years ago finding out a tornado had gone through just about a mile from our house, and we never knew how bad it was! We don’t get many around here, but that was definitely too close for comfort.
Wow…we are so thankful you all are safe and sound! The one thing we don’t miss about living in Texas are bad storms!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
I am thankful that we are having Easter today with my youngest son and his family. Tomorrow we travel 2000 miles to visit oldest son and celebrate Easter again on Sunday!
So scary! I’m thankful to live in a part of the country where tornadoes are extremely rare!
Mercy, i’m glad all is well and hope the tornadoes stay away from all of us!
That sounds too close for comfort to us, Brian! Glad you all were safe. Great planning, too!
That was a close call!
Have a Happy Easter. I joined your blog hop. Hope you like my post.
Brian, I wish all my furrends could live up here and be safer when it comes to tornadoes and hurrycanes and bad weather. I get so worried when our weather guesser, Pop, tells me about tornadoes around down there.
Oh my gosh that is something to be thankful for. We are thankful that you are all safe
I heard about all those tornados, I guess it’s that time of year (although there are still stubborn piles of snow here). I’m thankful you guys are okay too! No one likes to be put in a cage and carried anywhere but it has to be done, think of it as a successful fire drill, Brian.
As for me, I’m glad my standoff with an escalator at the ballpark ended without incident yesterday.
Wow, I’m glad that the tornado didn’t reach you! But better safe than sorry and it’s a good thing you were all safely tucked away in the bathroom.
We sure are happy you were prepared, and everyone was safe. We had a tornado today about 30 miles away. Sawyer is thankful that all his fur on his legs has grown back. Unfortunately, he had a Grand mal seizure today, but they are now stopping without a need for a trip to the emergency vet. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
TORNADOES?!?!?!?!?! OOOOOH my goodness!
Oh wow dat is scary!! Fankful it did not touchdown on your house and ya’ll were safe in da bathroom.
xoxo,
Matt & Matilda
