We really do enjoy reading about all of the things you are thankful for too. Today we’re all thankful for a long weekend. Oh Thursday? Darn right! I mentioned to you a few weeks ago that the Mom will be retiring on June 15th. Well, she decided she needed more practice of not going to work, so since next Monday is Memorial Day in the U.S. she decided to take a super long weekend. Hooray Mom, she won’t go back to work until next Tuesday. We love that kind of practice.
Ya know what else? The Mom has a 45 minute to one hour commute to work, each way, and we know that she sure won’t miss that drive every day. The Dad had the same commute and he sure doesn’t miss all that driving. I wouldn’t want to be in the car that long anyways and we will sure be happy when the Mom doesn’t have to do it.
So tell me, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Good for the Mom, taking a long holiday.
Today i am thankful i found a flash drive i thought i had lost. It has some stuff on it that is very important to me, even if not to anyone else.
With mum retired everything is a weekend day here.
That sounds like great practice for you mom, Brian. Long weekends rock! Our dad commutes 1 1/2 hours each way (one hour of it is on the train) — he will be happy when he does not have to do that, someday. MOL.
we like that idea a lot to practise that not going to work thingy… your mama is brilliant!!!!
Oh, that driving reminds Granny when she still worked…*mumbles* and was much younger than today..MOL…Every day in a traffic jam too on both sides…🙀 We’re Thankful that your mom can spent more time with you now…soon. Pawkisses for a Happy Long Weekend to all of you🐾😽💞
One of the reasons my human doesn’t care about retiring is that her commute consists of her walking upstairs! She hates driving in rush hour traffic, so she decided not to!
That is a good idea that your mum is getting into practice for her retirement. She has to do a lot of driving every day.
A nice long weekend sounds like great practice for her upcoming retirement.
We think she will adapt to retirement very quickly 😉
Just think, two people to love you all,all the time!
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
Great for her to get some practice. Ugg, we have to drive that far or more some days, not fun at all.
How nice your Mom is taking some extra time to enjoy this weekend! My parents are both retired and don’t miss commuting ONE BIT. I’m glad I didn’t have to sit here and wait for them to come home every day too. Have a wonderful time and be THANKFUL for all of the Mom-time and Dad-time you have.
Hugs, Teddy
We are thankful for the long weekend too!!
WE are so glad that the Mom gets to retire. What fun for all of you to have her home all the time. You all have a wonderful day.
Happy Thursday guys, and that’s great news about your Mom!!! Today we’re supurr thankful that our About Us page got updated at last – we nearly had to sack the P.A. for taking so long with the new graphics! MOL XOX
How awesome is that! Our mom commutes two seconds to the home office where she runs her business. We are super thankful she works out of our home. Enjoy the long weekend.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and so happy that soon Mom will get to be home more.
Meowser, looonnggg weekends are wonderful & excellent purractice for your mom. Do you have a huge party planned for the 15th?
Purrseidon
Oh my word Brian that is a long way to work. Another good reasons Kitties have staff ’cause the would not like ride to that much every.
Y’all enjoy the long weekend
Hugs Cecilia
WHPA, Brian, that is a LONG commute! You guys get to have mom and dad both this long long weekend! Mom said brother is coming for a visit (and home cooking!!!) this weekend…as it is his birthday so we will all hep him celebrate.
Yay for your Mom! Extra long weekends rock! Have fun practicing having your Mom home all the time, enjoy!
Yay for your Mom retiring! She’s going to have lots more time to devote to YOU!

I can’t imagine such a long commute all those years. When I first got married, I had an hour commute each way and I only lasted a few months to that job. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day! XO
CONGRATS to your mom 🙂 That is awesome news. She will love it and so will you.
Retirement is wonderful and you’ll both be so happy to be together with your kitties and do what you want to do. It’s most wonderful.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥
I am very happy for your mom and her retirement but I am also a bit jealous too.
We think practicing for retirement is a very good idea. Enjoy your long weekend.
I’m sure you’ll be thankful to have them both home with you more.
Brian, I didn’t even know it was a holiday weekend, ’cause things have been so busy around here! I think I’ll spend a lot of time napping with, playing with, and fussing over CATS! I am thankful for them each and every day.
dood….we R thanx full R weatherz ; while bad; iz knot vizshuz like it iz in de southern statez
:(… it bee wicked down ther
Mom Paula did the same thing before she retired. She had lots of leave days that she had to use or lose, so she basically had 3-day work weeks for about 2 months and still lost 20+ days when she retired.
I can’t see a propet place to comment so I’ll do it here. Who says I’m fussy? It’s best that your mom retires…an hour in a vehicle everyday will eventually drive her crazy. This is not acceptable. Somebody…furry, should ride to work with her and make sure she keeps her sanity. I’m not going to sit with her…..she’s your mom! Our mom has her own problems. Mol

We are happy for your Mom that she gets a break from the long trip to work. You all have a fun and wonderful long weekend. Hugs and nose kisses
This kind of practice works very well for all of you, I think 🙂
HI….right now I am thankful for the salty sunflower seeds I am eating on!
We are very happy for your mom. The holiday coming up is going to alot of relaxing for everyone and after the 15th of June, you will all have extra cuddle time with mom now too. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful Thankful Thursday and enjoy your time off.
I love seeing all the familiar faces on the blog hop. Today I’m thankful for the Cat Writer’s Association!
Yay for practicing for retirement! I wish we had long weekends here….the Dadz has to work all weekend since he’s in retail, and the farm never gives us a day off (I don’t mind that really though, it’s better than a long drive to work!!).
How pawsome that your mom will be retiring soon! Our mom retired a few years ago and she highly recommends it. She drove 45 mins to/from work each day and she doesn’t miss that one bit.
I can’t imagine a commute that long. I’m lucky to be 5 minutes from my office.
That is way too far, especially in traffic. Congrats on retirement ma. I’m grateful today landed on a fan day instead of a fireplace day which seems has happened within 24 hours of each other this week. Here’s to nice weather and shorter drives (unless it’s a road trip). Kisses to the kitties.
Brian, good on your mom! When she retires, *every* day will feel like a weekend!
We were very thankful when our mom retired because that meant more time with us.
Whoa! That’s a long ride to work. I guess we’re spoiled cos “the city” is so close. Even though Pop is thankful he gets to work at home 2-3 times a week so he doesn’t have to commute. If I had you at home, I’d never go to work. Sigh.
Congratulations in advance to the Mom on her upcoming retirement! You furbabies will be glad to have her around as much as Dad!
That will be so nice for your mom to not have that commute anymore! That sure is something to be thankful for!
That is terrible to have that commute. We know your mom will be happy to have those days behind her. Our thankful is that Sawyer has been eating. That means he is getting his meds! That makes our humans very happy. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
Congratulations to your Mom on her retirement! Long commutes are no fun…I know from experience!
