Yes indeed, it’s the first Thursday in May and that means it’s time for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am very thankful to each of you for stopping by today. We always have something be thankful for and to share with you. We really do enjoy reading about the things you are thankful for too. If you’re new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we get super excited when we see new blogger pals join us!
Today, as you can see, I’ve got my eyes on the Mom and I’ve been helping her practice every chance I get, and I do get a lot of chances. I know I’ve told you before how I like to fluff up my Mom’s legs and I like to sit with her on the couch. Hey, I even like to sit right behind her when I’m not sitting with her. Oh, sorry, what am I helping the Mom practice for? RETIREMENT! The Mom will be retiring in about a month and a half and she had been taking more days off than normal. So, on her extra days off I’ve been helping her prepare for retirement and full-time life in the cat lane!
The Dad has been retired for almost a year and a half and we sure will be thankful to have the Dad AND the Mom around most of the time. The Mom will be able to help with the FOD service too. FOD? That’s Food On Demand, at least that’s what the Dad calls it. Hey, Dad is our on personal GrubHub. We’ll let Mom play along too of course.
So what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt retirees, they deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
How exciting that your Mom will be retiring soon. My Dad expects to retire at the end of the year.
I’m sure you’ll have her trained right by the time it’s official! Good work!
Woot! You’re going to have double FOD? That’s excellent, Brian!
Great job helping Mom practice at the retirement stuff. And concatulations to her!
How nice of you to help Mom practice retirement! Let her know that I have been doing the real thing for two years now and there’s nothing better in the world – except maybe FOD service!
Having two human servants will be great for you.
Happy Retirement to the Mom! Fluffing up her legs, eh, lol. I’m thankful it stopped raining and thankful in advance for sun tomorrow or the next day or perhaps the next.
How lucky you are! When your Mom will retired, you will be more lucky! 🙂

That is so sweet of you to help your Mom practice for retirement. I bet she’s very appreciative. Midnight is peeking over my shoulder and perked up at the FOD. He wants more of that in our house too.

Glad that the Mom is retiring soon. Just think of all the attention you kitty kats will get. You all have a great day today.
That is great! My mom wishes she could retire, but we are all happy since she works from home. Enjoy that practice.
Brian, Happy Retirement to the moms! We’re still a few years out before DH can do that but it’ll be nice having him home when it does happen. I’m thankful that DH’s dental surgery went well yesterday. He’s feeling a bit rough today but went on to work. That probably wasn’t the best idea but he really didn’t know just how bad he felt until he got to the office. I’m thankful that today’s DS’s 25th birthday. My how the years go by fast! Finally, I’m thankful that I finished the A2Z Challenge for the 6th year running and am… Read more »
Yay for your mom!! I know she is excited but probably not as much as the kitties and the Dad.
FOD I love that. Dad of Angel Madi probably wishes we had that rule
Our little furbabies are thankful to have both Mom and Dad retired too. More lovin’!
Food on Demand – we like that!! When I want food, I start yelling at the Mom lady. Carmine jumps up on the counter and sits here staring at the Mom until he gets food when he’s hungry, MOL!
Congratulations to your mom Brian, she must be so excited. Sounds like youj are prepping her properly for her new full time job – MOL!
That’s a very good thankful Brian…..my Mom and Dad are retired and I love having them around ALL THE TIME!

We are lucky in that #1 works from home so she is here most of the time (except for her numerous trips hither and thither!). We know you will enjoy having both parents at home!
Yesterday, a dear friend announced that she is retiring at the end of the month, and now your momma, Brian! I feel like I’m the only grey-haired purrson still slogging to work every day! It’ll be years until I can retire…years…*whimper*
Retirement sounds like a great idea. Sign me up.
How wonderful. I’ve been retired since 2003 and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’m sure the mom will get right with the program with you kitties. I think she is pretty much there already. What a purrfect thankful.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
That is so exciting for your Mom! We bet she can’t wait to be home with all of you full time!!
And I’m sure she appreciates you helping her practice.
Wow you will have a lot of FOD at your place Brian. Our Dad re-tired in January and we now have our very own Cat Room. He promised us that as soon as the home office was closed we would have our very own play room. Hey do we sound thankful? You Betcha!
That’s going to be such an exciting change for all of you!
Our mom’s retired and we don’t get FOD. What’s up with that?
woo hoo for the Mom!! Retirement totally rocks when our humans do it. FOD is sweet!!
Love the Personal Grub Hub. We sort of have that except when Sawyer refuses yo eat his food with the meds in it. Then Mom won’t fill the kibble dispenser. We are thankful for our 1900th post and for being a first commenter on the Tuesday Teaser, and for having good friends like you. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer p.s. You are going to love having both your humans retired!
Congratulations to your mom on reaching retirement.
Today i am grateful Generator Dude came and serviced the generator, is willing to accept a payment plan, and even called me this evening so he could help me set the generator test at a time when i’m home to hear it.
Brian, you should hear me coo and purr when I see your pic on top of the post. Pop thought he was gonna retire last year but working at home 3 days a week has extended his work life. I’ll bet your mom is looking forward to more lap fluffing from you.
Oh Brian, you must think I am the biggest goof! My image was spinning and spinning and it posted so many times. I am not sure what the heck I am doing wrong. But your share is wonderful. Love the photo. Feline fun. Again I am so sorry for the times this added to your blog hop. I hope your weekend is wonderful.
Hope you are having a great week Brian – thankful for great blogging friends like you! 🙂
