Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: The Food Auditions

thankful thursday brian 06272019

Howdy gang! Thanks for coming by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always so very thankful to each of you for joining us. Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If youโ€™re new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we do excited when new blogger pals join us!

As you can tell, I’m about ready to nod off up here on the back of the new couch. Anyways, today I’m thankful for some recent food auditions. Now that the Mom is retired she has been going shopping at PetSmart with the Dad. Mom is a fun shopper and usually is on the lookout for new things. Dad is a boring shopper and pretty much just gets what he puts on his list. So, that means we got to try some new foods recently, which is always fun.

You know how it goes though, and it might be the same way at your place. You get a new food, you jump right in and eat it up. The peeps think that was a success so the next time they go shopping they load up on it. Then what happens? Yes, you know! We don’t want to eat it again. Hey, it’s what we do, if we see a huge stock of a given food we know nothing new is coming soon so we have to stop eating it…so something new will show up MOL! Anyways, we’re all pretty much thankful to audition new foods when they do show up, it’s fun! We’d like to have something new at each mealtime please!

So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

You do have to keep your people guessing, don’t you! My thankful will be on my blog, and i’m trying to link up but it keeps timing out. Wish me luck!

Food auditions sound like something that will be fun. Even more fun will be to turn our noses up when they buy a whole bunch of food we liked last week. hehehe

  3. mommakatandherbearcat

That was one complaint I had about the Chewy Influencer program … whose cats will eat a whole case of one flavor?! Bear won’t eat foods where the brand name starts with W. I have no idea how he knows …

  4. easyweimaraner

that must be murphy’s law … and we think that happens in a lot of furmilies… the mama bought us a special food in tiny cans… we loved it… till yesterday as she bought a whole pack LOL

  5. Mark's Mews

Oh doesn’t we know! We have 6 flavors of Stinky Goodness and a kibble we love as treats. We love something for months. And then fer a week, we wont touch one flavor. Or Marley demands some kibble on top before he eats the bowl clean.

Keeps the Beins keepin attention on us…

  6. Memories of Eric and Flynn

Oh, I know how it goes! I had a complete corner of the garage with so many different brands and flavours that were no longer liked. Usually a few months later they would be back in favour but only for 2 or 3 days. I am sure the shelter cats used to end up with more of the food than Eric and Flynn did.

Happy Thankful Thursday……Mom had that “eating” issue with Angel Sammy….one day something was THE BEST then the next day no interest! I’m more cooperative (so says Mom). Hope you all have a super day of cozy naps on the new furniture…..

    Hugs, Teddy

Morning Brian…I’m an off the list kinda shopper too. Before I retired my Bryan did all the grocery shopping.
If it wasn’t on the list he didn’t get it. Today I’m Thankful for Angel Madi. If it had not been for her blog
I would never have met you all
    Hugs Cecilia
I tried to link up but I musta messed up

Brian dear furiend, thank you for hosting this blog hop. Having both parents retired must be interesting, but they sound very much different from mine when it comes to shopping …. Mom gets exactly what is on her list and other bits that interest her; Pops will vill up the vehicle, and may or may not actually get what is on the list.

  10. Katie Isabella

Yup Brian, mom thought I suddenly started liking pate only to see that after a can, no..I still wouldn’t want it any more.

  11. Catscue Catmom

Enjoy the new food handsome! Our cats do the same thing, we think they love the new stuff and buy a bunch and then they won’t touch it again – MOL!

  12. Sandee

I so remember this routine. Yes indeed. I just waited them out and it worked most of the time. Cats are fun, but can be frustrating at times. You are sure worth it though.

Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. โ™ฅ

    Brian,

I’m thankful for new food experiences, especially when it comes in the form of creamy ice cream delicious variety. This is my favorite treat and there’s no better way to enjoy summer than with ice cream, lots and lots of ice cream! ๐Ÿ™‚ I am also very, very thankful for air conditioning. It sure would be terribly, awfully uncomfortable in the house if we didn’t have the convenience of a cooling system. Ahh, so nice!

  14. Ellen Pilch

We have the same problem here with Emmy, but nothing goes to waste with 13 cats ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for hosting, have a nice day! XO

  15. Zoolatry

Can’t speak about Zoey since she’s lives “elsewhere” tho we hear she is still a bit on the picky side … now, Dougie Dog will eat ANYTHING … and then there is the 9 yr old grandboy who sound like you, and says “I love that new stuff” and off one goes to Costco to buy it by the boatload and then he says, “No, I don’t love that new stuff!”
    Sigh.

  16. lisa

LOL! We all love new foods. Especially when someone else brings and prepares it for us! I hope you’ll learn how to give it more than a “one and done” try, and those auditions can make the cut and become part of the cast.. ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Timmy Tomcat

That is a good idea about the food. We are pretty set in our ways and love seafood flavors. Good idea on how to shake it up though. This week we are thankful as Toby was the last of us to get his yearly check up and we are all healthy. Dad is thankful he could afford the curve balls the house threw at him so all in all we are doing great. Thanks for a great hop as always

  18. emma and buster

We are the same way. Mom is at her wits end on what we like and what we like at the moment. At least the ferals get the food you don’t currently like.

  19. Dash Kitten

Sorry to be MIA my annual university stint tripped me up and nope I difntplan ahead did I * sigh *

    Love to Brian and everyone

  20. Little Binky and Granny

MOL…you’re very wise, Brian…MOL ๐Ÿ˜€ That shopping is so alike Granny’s and Grandpaw’s…MOL Enjoy the fun shopping ๐Ÿ˜€ Pawkisses for a Happy Thursday my furriends๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ฝ๐Ÿ’ž

  21. World Of Animals, Inc.

Sounds very exciting that you get to try new stuff out when mom goes shopping. Food auditions do sound really fun. Thanks for the share. Enjoy your cat nap. Have a wonderful rest of your day.

  22. William's Kith & Kin

Brian. we do the exact same thing. We also decide out of the blue we no longer want a favorite. Mom usually takes the scorned food out of rotation long enough to make us think it’s a new food later on! (Yes, we ARE on to her.)

  23. Kitties Blue

We are so grateful for the outpouring of purrs, prayers, POTP, love and support for our brofur, Sawyer. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  24. Angel Foley Monster, Pocket and River Song

Some people say we eat new food because the smell is different. I think we do it just to drive our parents crazy.

  25. Anne Robinson

Surprise! I am always in the dark with linky! It just blacked out my photo. Oh well…. I am thankful and I am here. I love visiting the felines here. HUGS

  26. Angie

Thank you for explaining why a favorite food gets a turned up nose and whiskers! Today I am thankful for a solid roof and house to protect us from the wild hail and rain storm we had today!

  27. Jan K

Oh, I always wondered what was behind those food games. Now I get it! Sam was very good at that too. After we lost her, we had a lot of food left to give to my sister’s kitty and the shelter!

  28. Cathy Keisha

HAH! How true this is. When I was reviewing for Chewy, I’d try a food a few times and love it so I’d write a 5 star review. After the review was written I wouldn’t touch the food but it leave TW didn’t spend money on it. She was glad to donate that food to our TNR. Now she’s sad, she has nothing to donate.
