Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: The Food Auditions

thankful thursday brian 06272019

Howdy gang! Thanks for coming by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always so very thankful to each of you for joining us. Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you’re new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we do excited when new blogger pals join us!

As you can tell, I’m about ready to nod off up here on the back of the new couch. Anyways, today I’m thankful for some recent food auditions. Now that the Mom is retired she has been going shopping at PetSmart with the Dad. Mom is a fun shopper and usually is on the lookout for new things. Dad is a boring shopper and pretty much just gets what he puts on his list. So, that means we got to try some new foods recently, which is always fun.

You know how it goes though, and it might be the same way at your place. You get a new food, you jump right in and eat it up. The peeps think that was a success so the next time they go shopping they load up on it. Then what happens? Yes, you know! We don’t want to eat it again. Hey, it’s what we do, if we see a huge stock of a given food we know nothing new is coming soon so we have to stop eating it…so something new will show up MOL! Anyways, we’re all pretty much thankful to audition new foods when they do show up, it’s fun! We’d like to have something new at each mealtime please!

So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Food auditions sound like something that will be fun. Even more fun will be to turn our noses up when they buy a whole bunch of food we liked last week. hehehe

Mum is a boring shopper. She has a list, that is what she buys.

That was one complaint I had about the Chewy Influencer program … whose cats will eat a whole case of one flavor?! Bear won’t eat foods where the brand name starts with W. I have no idea how he knows …

that must be murphy’s law … and we think that happens in a lot of furmilies… the mama bought us a special food in tiny cans… we loved it… till yesterday as she bought a whole pack LOL

Oh doesn’t we know! We have 6 flavors of Stinky Goodness and a kibble we love as treats. We love something for months. And then fer a week, we wont touch one flavor. Or Marley demands some kibble on top before he eats the bowl clean.

Keeps the Beins keepin attention on us…

Memories of Eric and Flynn

Oh, I know how it goes! I had a complete corner of the garage with so many different brands and flavours that were no longer liked. Usually a few months later they would be back in favour but only for 2 or 3 days. I am sure the shelter cats used to end up with more of the food than Eric and Flynn did.

Happy Thankful Thursday……Mom had that “eating” issue with Angel Sammy….one day something was THE BEST then the next day no interest! I’m more cooperative (so says Mom). Hope you all have a super day of cozy naps on the new furniture…..

Hugs, Teddy

That’s pretty much how food goes at our house too! We are lucky though both mom and dad are always buying fun new food!

New food is fun to try and sometimes we like some repeats. But we are a fussy bunch here. One day something is good but not the next day. You all have a super day.

Morning Brian…I’m an off the list kinda shopper too. Before I retired my Bryan did all the grocery shopping.
If it wasn’t on the list he didn’t get it. Today I’m Thankful for Angel Madi. If it had not been for her blog
I would never have met you all

I tried to link up but I musta messed up

Brian dear furiend, thank you for hosting this blog hop. Having both parents retired must be interesting, but they sound very much different from mine when it comes to shopping …. Mom gets exactly what is on her list and other bits that interest her; Pops will vill up the vehicle, and may or may not actually get what is on the list.

I so remember this routine. Yes indeed. I just waited them out and it worked most of the time. Cats are fun, but can be frustrating at times. You are sure worth it though.

Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. β™₯

Brian,

I’m thankful for new food experiences, especially when it comes in the form of creamy ice cream delicious variety. This is my favorite treat and there’s no better way to enjoy summer than with ice cream, lots and lots of ice cream! πŸ™‚ I am also very, very thankful for air conditioning. It sure would be terribly, awfully uncomfortable in the house if we didn’t have the convenience of a cooling system. Ahh, so nice!

I like the idea of ‘auditioning’ new foods, Brian! Even if it mean cats are fickle with their food…

Zoolatry

Can’t speak about Zoey since she’s lives “elsewhere” tho we hear she is still a bit on the picky side … now, Dougie Dog will eat ANYTHING … and then there is the 9 yr old grandboy who sound like you, and says “I love that new stuff” and off one goes to Costco to buy it by the boatload and then he says, “No, I don’t love that new stuff!”
Sigh.

LOL! We all love new foods. Especially when someone else brings and prepares it for us! I hope you’ll learn how to give it more than a “one and done” try, and those auditions can make the cut and become part of the cast.. πŸ™‚

#1. who is quite sneaky, puts aside food we turn up our noses at, and then rolls it out again weeks or months later, and we like it all over again!

That is a good idea about the food. We are pretty set in our ways and love seafood flavors. Good idea on how to shake it up though. This week we are thankful as Toby was the last of us to get his yearly check up and we are all healthy. Dad is thankful he could afford the curve balls the house threw at him so all in all we are doing great. Thanks for a great hop as always

We are the same way. Mom is at her wits end on what we like and what we like at the moment. At least the ferals get the food you don’t currently like.

Brian. we do the exact same thing. We also decide out of the blue we no longer want a favorite. Mom usually takes the scorned food out of rotation long enough to make us think it’s a new food later on! (Yes, we ARE on to her.)

Oh, I always wondered what was behind those food games. Now I get it! Sam was very good at that too. After we lost her, we had a lot of food left to give to my sister’s kitty and the shelter!

HAH! How true this is. When I was reviewing for Chewy, I’d try a food a few times and love it so I’d write a 5 star review. After the review was written I wouldn’t touch the food but it leave TW didn’t spend money on it. She was glad to donate that food to our TNR. Now she’s sad, she has nothing to donate.
