Hello everyone, yes, it’s Mancat Monday again and here in the South we’re supposed to be having a cool wave starting tomorrow. Yep, we’re gonna get down into the higher 80s, and since we’ve been in the higher 90s with a heat index up in the 100s it really is gonna feel pretty nice. I’m sure our feral family will be enjoying some of the not as hot temps too.
Hey, remember last week when Brother Simon was telling you about the new mousie toy the Mom got him. Well listen, his elder Brother, that would be me, still likes to play some too so I borrowed “his” mouse for a little bit of playtime on my own. I’ll give him credit though, this mouse is pretty special and it tastes just right when I put the bitey on it. Oh, you can see I’ve got him in the claw grip too. That mousie isn’t getting away until I was it’s okay for him to go.
Oh, one other thing while I’m thinking about it. Several of you asked how the Dad was doing after he had his melanoma removal surgery back on July 3rd. The Dad is doing really good. He had his first follow up visit at the South Carolina Skin Cancer Center and they said he is healing up nicely and the skin graft was looking good. He still has to keep it bandaged for a while yet but he no longer has to keep that area dry. The Dad said to tell you thanks for all of the continued well wishes. He has another follow up visit in early August.
Oh, and another thing…

Our pals over atΒ Bionic Basil’s place are hosting Crafts for Your Shelters Week, and let me tell you, they do some amazing things.Β So whether you are the crafty type or not, head on over and check out all of the fun.Β They’ll have something different going on each day this week.
Have a fun day Monday everyone, see ya soon.Β Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Good to see you still like the mousies Brian. Play is what keeps you young π
WE are so happy that your .Dad is recovering well too.
Now that the temps are going down a bit, playtime will be more fun.
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
So glad to hear the dad’s doing better, Brian. Skin cancer is surely something I worry about with the way mom and dad love the beach. I hope he continues to heal. I grab my pretzel the same way, and chomp, tear and chew it like nobody’s business. Dad’s supposed to be working on a post about that, but it’s been kinda busy around here again. More on that later. Have a great week!
Hopefully he continues to heal up and great he is doing better. You sure aren’t giving that mouse any wiggle room.
Have fun playing with the mouse, Brian!
Thanks for the update on your Dad, take good care on him so the healing continues!
mousies are the best! and we are so happy that your daddy got good news from his dogtors… and we wish him all the best :O)
I’m always concerned about blogger buds and their well being, so thanks so much for the update on The Dad, and so thrilled things are going so well. The heat here in NC has been making difficult for people and pets, but there is a little bit of relief coming soon here on Tuesday or Wednesday, just in time for my doctor’s appointment, thank goodness! That mouse is in trouble.(lol) Hugs and Happy Monday! RO
Brian,
Oh, it’s been quite hot here in the Tennessee Valley. Ugh, I don’t do extreme temperatures very well! I’m so thankful to have a home that protects me from the elements unlike your feral family or the hundreds of homeless in our city who do not.
I’m glad to read your dad is doing okay from the skin cancer procedure and that the doctors gave him encouraging mews. Saying prayers that he doesn’t have any more problems. Thanks for boogieing by to listen to my featured mewsic on the 4M dance floor. Have a songsational week, my furriend!
Thank you for the update on your dad. We have been thinking of him and his recovery. Enjoy the mousing!
Sure glad that Dad is doing all right. Pretty scary stuff. You all have a perfect day.
Mom and I have thought about it every single day and we are glad of the update now. She keeps a list, and you Dad is sure on it.
Thanks for the update on your dad, Brian. We’re glad he’s healing well and that everything is looking good. Paws crossed for his August check!
As for you and the mousie, you’re certainly teaching him who’s boss!
BTW, we’ve been having the same heat wave, even here in Ontario, Canada, so we’re glad for cooler temps today. Saturday our humidex reached 45C/113F, which is brutally hot for us!
Take care, we hope everyone has a good week. Purrs.
I’m glad Dad is doing okay. It’s fun to watch older cats play like kittens.
That’s pawsome news about Dad, so glad to hear all is progressing well
And, I can see you have that Mouse well under you paw!!!!
Love and licky kisses

Age is just a number, Brian; play is play!
Good progress for your dad!
Brian you’ve got a good grip on that mouse so it’s not going ANYWHERE! We are happy to hear that your Dad’s surgery has healed up and things are looking good. Enjoy your Monday!
Hugs, Teddy
First I’m glad the dad is doing great. Thanks for the update.
You need to play with whatever toys you want to play with, since you’re probably in charge of the rest of the kitties.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday. My best to your peeps and enjoy the cooler weather. β₯

Oh mousies are the bestest ever!! So glad to hear your Dad is doing so well too Brian!
We are happy to hear that your dad is doing well. Great seeing your Bian having a great time with that mousie. Our cooler weather will start tomorrow after the rain comes tonight. We can’t wait. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day.
YAY for Dad doing well and for cooler temps! We are cooler today too, it’s beautiful! Do you believe we were in the upper 90s here in Michigan too, we had temps just like YOU did in the South!
Oh you share your toys, what good kitties you are.
That does look like a fun mousie! He will never mess with you again, that’s for sure. I don’t think that Brother Simon will be all that upset that you helped tame that mouse. I’m really glad to hear that your Dad is healing well too. It is always scary when cancer is diagnosed. Sending prayers and purrs hoping that things only get better from here.
We are glad that your dad can put the surgery behind him and is healthy. It is good to share toys, unless they are my toys, then no sharing.
That is some real mancat mousie skills there Brian! Have a wonderful time!
Great news on your Dad – hope things continue to go very well. Hey, Brian, no kitty or pup is too old to play. Even old Angel Phantom would play every now and then.
Mom is so in love with the fabric on that chair:)
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
I am glad your dad is doing well after his procedure and hope his next check up is good too.
That’s a good bitey you are putting on that mousie.
It was nice of Simon to let you borrow his mouse. I like how you found a little blanket to perfectly match the color of your chair.
We’re glad to hear that Dad is doing well, and we love seeing an older kitty like you still having fun with toys, Brian!
Glad your Dad is doing well. Also glad you got to play with the mousie.
Great news about your dad! Love seeing you enjoy that cute mousie π
Frodo “borrows” his siblings toys all the time!! Seems to make playtime more fun! Happy to hear the recovery is going well!
We think Simon may need to get another mouse, Brian. Looks like you want to keep that one for yourself. Glad your dad is doing well. Sending him healing purrs.
HAHA….MOUSING around is fun. Lily however don’t play with a stuffed mouse but she sure has had fun in the past playing the REAL ones (when staying at my brothers)…. She loved PLAYING with them but once Dakota (rat terrier, bred for hunting rodents) would see what Lily had he would go in for the the KILL…..Enjoy playing.
Why do i get the feeling that the mousie toy is in big trouble?
Glad to hear your Dad is doing well, i will continue to pray for a full recovery.
That mousie looks pretty awesome, Brian, and we are glad it’s tasty, too!
Hey, we’re so happy that your dad is doing so well. We’ll keep purring and praying for his continued health!
I’m glad to hear your human is doing well after his surgery.
Brian, you’ve been playing with mouses for more years than Simon has been alive, so you’re an old hand!
Simon that looks like a really nice mousie you liberated MOL. We are so glad Dad is doing well
Now all of you will want to play with that mousie! π

Charlee: “That’s showing the mouse who’s boss, Brian!”
Chaplin: “Lately our mousies have been disappearing. I don’t know where they’re going.”
Lulu: “Oh I’ve been stealing them.”
Charlee: “You have?”
Lulu: “Uh-huh. Then Dada takes them away from me because they’re too small and I might swallow them and he puts them away and they I have to wait until I can steal another one.”
Chaplin: “Have you considered NOT stealing our mousies?”
Lulu: “Ummm … No.”
