Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: Heroes and Hurricanes

thankful thursday blog hop brian 07182019

Hello everyone, thanks once again for coming by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always so very thankful to each of you for joining us, seriously thankful. Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do excited when new blogger pals join us!

Today I’m thankful for those heroes among us who venture out into the wild weather to help those in need. Hurricane Barry came ashore over the weekend and we watched some of our Coast Guard heroes airlifting out stranded humans and critters on baskets extended down from helicopters. Then there were so many volunteers helping get shelter pets out of dodge before the storm came in. Thank you to all of the first responders who always put the safety and welfare of others first.

We’re also thankful that Hurricane Barry weakened to a tropical storm and we’re thankful that it all wasn’t as bad as it could have been. We send our purrs and prayers to those who were affected by the torrential tropical rain and storms and hope the recovery from the mess is a quick one. Hurricane season is just underway so y’all be careful please.

What are you thankful for today??? Tell us in the comments and then join us for the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

We are thankful that we don’t live where there are hurricanes or tornadoes. We have an occasional earthquake in California, but they are not where we live. We are thankful we don’t live on a fault line,

Thank goodness Barry was downgraded as it came ashore. All the volunteers and rescuers working to keep people and animals safe in these storms are heroes.

We have appealed for people to donate to charities helping and who stand ready. This is every cat or dogs worst nightmare. Wet, windy and hopeless. We keep our paws crossed.

We all should be thankful that there are people who don’t hesitate to risk their lives to help others. Good to hear you are alright.

Though I’m sure it was bad enough for those in its path it most certainly could have been much, much worse. We’re keeping our fingers (and my paws) crossed that we don’t have a hurricane season here like last year.

Luckily the storm wasn’t as bad as they thought. We prefer the tornadoes we have over hurricanes, but bad weather is still scary.

We’re glad Barry didn’t cause nearly as much damage as they thought he would and that everyone was well prepared. We do have bad thunderstorms here but only one tornado since Mom and Dad have lived here and usually just “remnants” of hurricanes and tropical storms. We hope that everyone is recovering from any effects they had from Barry and can enjoy the REST of this super hot summer! Thanks for hosting “Thankfuls” Brian!

Hugs, Teddy

That is a good thankful. Those who rescue others are amazing folks, I am so thankful they do what they do. I think the entire country is thankful that hurricane wasn’t as bad as Katrina and that folks are, for the most part safe and sound after Barry.

I agree with you Brian. We have a BFF who lives near Baton Rouge. She left FB but last year we read how she was going into flooded areas getting people’s cats left behind and when she couldn’t find the cats, leaving food. The pics were horrible. We’re also thankful for the 9/11 responders who seem to have been forgotten by our government. We should never forget those scenes are devastation and of the heroes covered with toxic dust trying to return our city and our country back to normalcy. Every day heroes are dying but members of our gov’t… Read more »

We are thankful our internet finally got fixed. And yes very good news about Barry. We were thankful so many rescues and fosters stepped up to help the shelter in Louisiana that flooded. We were told they were able to get all the dogs out.

We totally agree with you about those responders. They sacrifice their time and lives to help others all the time. We are happy Barry wasn’t worse than it was, and we are hoping for a very quiet hurricane season.

We’re glad we don’t get hurricanes here–folks go mental over 1″ of snow, imagine what would happen with a hurricane. Actually, we know–idiots would still be out on the roads.
