Hello there gang, thanks for stopping by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always so very thankful to each of you for joining us. Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do excited when new blogger pals join us!
Okay, first let me say that we don’t have an photos of the event, but it’s a terrific one nonetheless, it really, really is. There was actually a 3rd doorbell ringing here last week. The third one was our neighbor right next door, the one with the yappy dog Winston. We like these neighbors. He said there was a kitten in their bushes and it was driving their dog crazy. He knows we’ve been known to rescue, thus the doorbell ring.
The Dad went out and sure enough there was a kitten that was likely abandoned by it’s Mama. So the Dad tried to get it but she was a quick little one. Then the trap came out, but it went the wrong way, of course it did. So, with our Mom’s help, we got it over to our place, placed some stinky goodness in the trap, the kitten went in, the trap closed and the kitten finished her meal. Boy was she hungry.
Then, the Mom hurried, quick like a bunny, to take the kitten to our Vet before they closed for the day. After all, what do you do with a kitten in the middle of kitten season. The next morning one of our favorite Vet Techs called with an update. She had her booster shots, tested negative for the bad stuff but had an upper respiratory infection and was on antibiotics. Since she was staying put for a while, the Dad told the Vet Tech he would work on finding that sweet little girl a home.
Well, the Vet Tech called back a few minutes later. She recently got a wee kitten of her own and was looking for a pal for her kitten. She asked the Dad is if would be okay if she adopted her. AMAZING, heavens yes. If you’ve ever been involved in rescue you know it usually doesn’t happen like that, especially so quickly. The stars sure aligned for this little one, and we’ll always be most thankful for that and thank you Ms. B., your a hero.

What an awesome gotcha story, Brian! Yes, the stars most certainly DID align for that kitten and Ms. B. We are grateful for your neighbor, your Mom and Dad, and that vet tech. Amazing!
We are happy to read of the rescue and adoption. We are actually surprised that we have never seen a stray kitten around here. We have seen adult cats in the yard, but it is always the same couple of them for only a few years each (sadly). Apparently, there is no local feral colony and the neighbors must be good about neuter/spay of their own.
Congratulations on rescuing the kitten and helping her find a home. This is the best news I’ve read in a long time.
Meowser, that is excellent news! Poor Katsu was born at our local shelter and lived there until he was 6 months old…. Even worse, about the time his eyes opened, they realized there was a problem with the left one, but it was misdiagnosed as something contagious so, he was put is an isolation cage…. I think this is why he doesn’t like being by himself. Master Munchkin fell in love with him when he would go there on weekends to help the shelter, but it took him months to talk the parents into allowing him to adopt Katsu. They… Read more »
