Mancat Monday Thankfuls

45 Comments on Mancat Monday Thankfuls

Hello everyone, it really is Mancat Monday and I am taking it easy, it was a pretty stressful few days around our neck of the woods. So, today I have three thankfuls. I know, normally I’d post them on our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, but one of my sisters asked to do Thankful Thursday this week so I said yes. Who is it and why the special Thursday? You’ll just have to stop by and see.

Anyways, about those thankful things, here’s the first one. For those of you who follow us on Facebook the Dad posted this: Unfortunately when our furnace service person was here the other day he did not completely latch the door to our crawl space. Friday morning early the heavy winds blew it open and one of our many ferals went in. He is still in there (there was a lot more detail that this though).

The Dad then posted this update:

Here is an update everyone. I believe the kitty got out. There wasn’t any activity on the camera for 36 hours and none of the food was touched from last night.

So this morning I spent 3 hours under the house. It wasn’t overly easy but I covered every possible inch. In one of the back sections of the crawl space one of the exterior vents was half knocked out and the half I found on the outside, not on the inside. It would have been a fairly easy jump for an escape route.

I did see some kitty tracks but no sign of any kitty pee or poop. I’m leaving the camera in place for several more days just to be on the safe side but I looked in every possible nook n’ cranny and couldn’t find the sweetie. Thanks to all for the suggestions and concern. I’m very thankful that the kitty was able to get out.

Then, for my second thankful, the bad news from last Thursday was the weather guessers were right. We had tons of rain, bad storms and even a tornado around. Our Mom had an appointment to get her hair done in Spartanburg, which is the city where she used to work. The Mom decided to cancel that appointment. A tornado hit Spartanburg right next to the hair salon where Mom gets her hair done and at the time our Mom would have been there sitting in the chair. We’re all so thankful that the Mom decided to cancel and stay home with us. Spartanburg got hit really bad with an F1 tornado.

Then, for my third and final thankful, we went from 77 degrees and storms and tornados to this…

Snow, yes, we had snow, about an inch. Goofy weather fur sure. I know lots of you won’t be impressed with an inch of snow but that much is really something for us. I’m thankful it’s gone now and some warmer weather is coming back.

Sorry to be long winded today, now you know why i’m resting so peacefully. Have a terrific Monday everyone! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Thank you for visiting us X
.. cripes, that is some tale of concern with the search beneath your house, paws crossed that the escapee has indeed escaped. we have had a storm here but NOTHING compared to those you get in your neck of the world.
I can see why today was the day for gratefulness all round. Helen and boys xxxxxx

Brian,

The weather was crazy last week. Like y’all, we got a lot of rain and even snow on Friday. The roller coaster temperature ride is one I don’t like at all. We dropped 20+ from Thursday to Friday and the wind that we had on Friday made conditions even worse. Brrr! So, glad the mom cancelled her appointment and safe at home when that tornado hit. Have a pAWesome week!

Memories of Eric and Flynn

That was a lot of stress, and I am glad the kitty got out!
Your mum must have had a 6th sense about cancelling her hair appointment, and I am very glad she stayed safe at home.
I hope this week is much calmer for all of you.

I am kind of glad the kitty got out from under the house. I bet it comes back again for food. So glad the Mom cancelled her hair appointment. That was such a scary day. The snow was kind of fun. You all have a great day today.

Wow! You certainly have a lot of reasons to be thankful! You deserve a rest after so much excitement – and so do your Humans.
We are contending with high winds and heavy rains but no snow as yet – at least, there is, in the north, but not in Jerusalem (yet).
Pawpats and noserubs to you from Us.

Oh my gosh, that’s WAY too much adventure! We’re glad that you’re all safe and that the feral cat got out. Holy cats, what a time you’ve all had! Purrs for a quiet, happy week!

We are thankful you are all OK, very scary weather for sure. We are also thankful the feral kitty got out from under your house. We are lucky our house is on a slab so Mommy doesn’t have to worry about us getting under the house. Poor Eldest Boy has a crawl space under his house and Mister Who (we don’t know if you remember him) anyway he is forever managing to get under the house and escape from the backyard. PEES: We lost all our emails when the computer died, so if you could send us an email so… Read more »

Well for sure you are thankful for bunches of reasons! That trapped kitty obviously found his/her way out from under the house thankfully……and your Mom was NOT getting her hair done when the tornado hit…..and of course getting a little snow – just enough to be pretty – is another thankful thing. It will be gone in no time! Take it easy Brian – you deserve your rest that’s for sure!

Hugs, Teddy

Lots to be thankful for and I’m a hit and miss with Facebook. I hope the kitty is out and I’m sure it is. Thank the dad for being such a great dad. He rocks.

Yikes on that hair appointment. I’m glad the mom stayed home.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

Oh my, those things are really special. I’m very thankful, too! Glad the kitty got out safely and the mom cancelled her appointment. We had snow this weekend as well after having temperature of over 70F. Stay warm and have a great new week 🙂

There is a crawl space under our old porch, and for awhile The Hubby and I considered creating a feral cat enclave there, until we realized that for me to clean things, etc…it would be too hard, plus it’s at the front of the house (the back is better for ferals so the neighbors are less inclined to notice). Glad the kitty got out again!
As for snow, well, yeah, we get an inch every other day around here, but can empathize with y’all, when it’s not the norm. A tornado in February though…that’s scary as heck!

That is a lot to be thankful for. I am glad your mom canceled the appointment. And I am glad the feral got back out.

I’m so glad that feral kitty got out – I was following on FB and was worried. Your Dad is a Superhero for crawling around under there! What strange weather you’ve had, I’m so glad your Mom cancelled her appointment, whew! The snow is very pretty, now it can melt and you can get on with your sunpuddling sweet Brian.

Glad to hear the good news about the kitty!! Sorry about the weather-we got hit with about 6 inches of snow last night and I am still shoveling!

Oh wow, it almost felt weird for us to get as much snow as we did because it’s been pretty sparse this winter and I’m all the way up here in WI. That’s downright nutty nut bar crazy. I’m glad that feral is out and you are such a good dad to make sure. I hope the snow doesn’t hurt any of the outdoor kitties. Is the hair salon still standing? That is freaky. Something like that happened to us once, we turned around and the street we just were was littered with trees and branches and debris. It must… Read more »

So glad the feral kitty got out and apparently it is a pretty smart one since he/she found its own way out!! I am so glad that dad went under to look just the same. Wow, and glad mom stayed home on that day. Its been a wild sort of winter. Lots of rain this winter, not really cold, like dad said, warm, then storms and snow. CRAZY…as for the comment on my blog about using Hartz, I do not. I have been really lucky with the barn cats since my daughter works for a vet, the rep sometimes gives… Read more »

Wow, that was close with the tornado. Your mom’s instinct to cancel was right.

Most of the time, kitties get themselves out of trouble if you give them enough time, i hope that is the case with your feral friend that got into a tight spot because of a door left open!

It sure has been busy at your place. Great news that your mom avoided the tornado. I see you have a brown cubby perch just like the one i have.
