It’s Mancat Monday and if y’all wonder how we’re doing, we are doing okay. It’s been sad since our Sister Zoe left us to become an Angel, but we’re coping with it. I’ll thank you all properly for your kindness on our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, okay?
Anyways, speaking of normal, it seems as though the stupid hots are returning to our area and yep, that always brings a chance of thunder boomers. Then, there is the normal noises of summer. Our neighbor, the one who had the noisy tree cutting humans had some brush cutting humans there over the weekend. Dang, it was noisy. Forturnately, Simon had his brave on and didn’t hide. Oh yes, those noisy fireworks will be coming up soon too.
Oh, and how’s this for normal. Yours truly got hauled off to the Vet. Seriously?!?! How rude was that?!?! I’m not sick, but I did have to go for a claw trim. Usually the Dad trims them for me but I had two that were doing the curly thing and trying to grow into my paw. So, the Dad thought he’d best have a pro do it. It sure does feel better, even if I didn’t like the car ride.
I hope you have a terrific Monday and I’ll see you on Thursday for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Ugh, it was always bad when Binga had a claw that started to curl. Boodie is so good, my human can handle her at home, no matter what her claws look like. Me? I’m ALWAYS good!
I hope the new normal isn’t too sad for you all. <3
It is hard to get used to a new normal but I am glad you are all doing okay.
Glad the clippy claws went well too.
Yet again I am in learning mode today! I know that dogs have those claws that curl and try to grow back into the tall but I did not know that Cats Pause did that and now I do sorry you had to go to the vet
Life seems to be about adjusting to new normals on so many levels. We remember reading, years ago, a comment someone left on another blog, about how we never get over the loss, we just become accustomed to the absence. We’ve found this to be a life-truth. :-/
Anyway, Brian, we’re relieved that your vet trip was only for your claws and that all is well.
Take care, purrs from Derry.
The Mom needs to check Scylla’s claws, to make sure they aren’t doing the curly thing.Tuiren has one that does the curly thing and Mom says it’s very difficult to trim, but she got a great pair of nail clippers at the vet so she doesn’t mess up. Relived to hear you are OK Brian and just needed your nails done. Scylla sends love and nose kisses.
Yepper, Brian. Mom would like to let mine alone, but there is always going to be that curly thing and then, our pads will suffer. You did did what was best for you, and in a few weeks, it will be burrito time for me. We miss your sisfur too Brian.
We have thought about you all a lot. Still so sad about Zoe. Another friend our ours lost her dog last week too. It’s all sad, but life goes on and Zoe would want you all to enjoy your lives in the new normal.
Yup, it sure is hard to get used to the new normal. We miss Zoe too. Hope you all have a good day and try to stay cool.
Brian, happy to read your vet visit was just for a claw trim. Keep those newbie kitties in line! It’s hot hot here too for us. We need rain.
MOL Brian
Simon had his brave on I love that!!
I agree with Dad about letting the pros take care of the curly claw. Just to hard to get a good angle on them with the clippers.
Hugs Cecilia
We don’t like those noises either. We’re glad your mani/pedi went okay.
The Florida Furkids
We know about new normals, Brian. Purrs as you all adjust. And good thing you got those claws taken care of…that could hurt more than going to the vet.
my goodness what a noisy weekend! Glad your claws are trimmed….and have a happy week!
We’re sorry you had to go to the vet. We’re still sending you guys hugs.
Yep ~ already heard those fireworks ~ and some of the regular noises, cars, landscaping, and even heard and saw plane ~ wow ~ Normal? What is normal? I am not ready to go to other people’s houses ~ went to sister’s yesterday and it was strange ~ so much for normal ~ still feel apprehensive ~ Sweet photo of you ^_^

I’m sorry you’re having so much noise going on. Hopefully you’ll have some quiet. Dad did the right thing with those claws. Sometimes you need a pro to take care of things.
More healing hugs to all of you. Miss Zoe was a wonderful kitty.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all your siblings and my best to your peeps. ♥
There is never a ‘new’ normal, Brian…we all just hunker down and deal with the changes by gritting our teeth sometimes, or having a nice cry at others.
Glad you had a pawdicure; I am hoping I can schedule a human one very soon.
New normal takes time, best to all of you during this sad time.
Sorry to hear of the noise and vet trip. I know it’s sad and hard when you have to get used to the new normal.
dood…..catz due knot like change N peepulz due knot either, even if they say they do….we noe itz gonna bee ruff goin fora while ~~~~~~ ♥♥♥♥♥
New normals are a big adjustment and I know you must miss Sister Zoe very much. As for the nail trim Brian – at least that’s ALL they did at the vet – no needles, no embarrassing temperature checks, etc. Not too bad huh?
Hugs, Teddy
So so sorry to hear this news 🙁
oooh we hear ya… that claw days are .. so …aaaaahhhh! ..for the vet, LOL Hugs to you all … and lots of POTP
Oh, Brian, we could hear you over here…MOL…glad you’re coping with your new normal, but it must be real hard :'( Pawkisses for a Happy Monday to all of you🐾😽💞
It takes awhile before anyone can find changes easy. We are sure glad your pawsies are feeling better!
Whoa Better tell your claws to behave. This year we’ve had tons of boomie things I think people got tired of quarantine and are getting out frustration. We don’t really hear them with our new windows but everyone is complaining about them. I’m sure you all are missing Zoe terribly.
We’re sorry you got such a noisy weekend, but we’re glad you could have a good pawdicure ! It’s hard to get used to a new normal. Purrs
Adjusting to the new normal is always hard – hope your noisy neighbors allow you guys some much needed quiet time!
It can be difficult to get used to a new normal, but it sounds like you’re adjusting. Too bad you still have all those noises. Sorry you had to take a car ride to get your claws trimmed, but it always feels good to have a fresh pawdicure.
New normals are always difficult. We have to say that nothing is normal here, especially today. We hope the thunderstorms and the fireworks treat you all kindly.
Woos, Lightning and Timber
My Angel Tara had the curly nail thing happening once. The vet discovered it when she had to stay overnight with her diabetes once. I was heartbroken that she may have been hurting for awhile and I didn’t know it. We’ve had FIVE over 90 degree days in a row here in Vermont!
Sorry you had to go to the vet for a nail trim. At least they did not steal your bloods.
Arty and I got groomed and the groomer took care of our nails…Jakey goes to the Vet this week for his nail trim. Hope the boomers stay away!
xoxo,
Rosy
Those curly claws sure stink, glad you got em fixed up.
I hope the stupid hots leave soon! Glad those two claws are all trimmed up now.
It is so good to see you here. I have had Zoe on my mind. I know she will be missed. Good to get those nails trimmed. It is an art I never mastered. Mister Kitty would bite me and claw me and scratch me! He should see his vet, they can handle him better then me You all have a nice week and take care HUGS
I hope the new normal does not include daily vet visits and loud noises. It is hard enough as it is
Ugh, this reminded my momma she needs to trim mine tomorrow.
The new normal is always hard to get used to. We’re sending you all lots of purrs and love to help you get through it.
Yep it are sooo hots here to and can you believe these crazies around us have already been shooting off fireworks for like a week and a half (insert biggest eye roll of life). Mama went and got brudder a good supple of his edibles so he does not completely loose his marbles.
Brian, we hate those noisy outside machines people use and so does our mom. We are certain it will take a very long time before your days are not constantly consumed with memories of and missing Zoe. We know together you are all strong and will help your humans with extra love as they grieve. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
We are glad you are all doing as best you can during this sad time. We’ve been thinking of you. ♥
It’s never easy to adjust to a new normal, but it happens. After a while, the memories don’t hurt so much, they bring comfort instead.
Glad you got the nail trim.
I’m so very sorry about beautiful Zoe, and know that she’s lounging pain free and watching you all from up above. Dad always knows what to do with those claws doesn’t he? I’m sending lots and lots of hugs.
Charlee: “I had to go to the vet last week too. Mama and Dada thought I had a UTI so they brought me in to get checked out. I yowled the whole way there, the whole 15 minutes I was getting looked at, and the whole way home.”
Lulu: “I had to go to the vet on Friday. They knocked me out, kept me for hours, and stole all my lovely dental tartar.”
Charlee: “… You win.”
