Here we are at Mancat Monday but we’re not going to be Mancatting today. Nope, instead we’re asking you for purrs, prayers and Power of the Paw for our Sister Zoe. Poor Zoe is unwell and it came on rather quickly.

You probably remember her posts about her food bowls. Well, Zoe had been cleaning up at least one of her two bowls of food at breakfast and at dinner. Then, what seemed like all of a sudden, she stopped eating. When she doesn’t eat the Dad feeds her so that’s what he did.
Things really went downhill on Saturday, she threw up ten times throughout the day and she was having litter box difficulties. Since the Dad can’t go many places due to the Covid thing (he’s high risk) the Mom took Zoe to our Animal Emergency Center. Sadly it was packed with many terribly sick critters, but after waiting seven hours she finally got seen. Of course with the Covid thing the Mom couldn’t go in with her.
Zoe was hospitalized. Zoe was dehydrated and had some bloody diarrhea. She was on fluids and IV antibiotics. Her blood work was good, nothing showed on X-rays and her urinalysis was also good. Yesterday they did an ultrasound and the news isn’t good at all, they are fairly certain it is lymphoma. Of course the only way to know is with a surgical biopsy. Given her surgical history we’re not sure she would survive that. Right now we’ve opted for medical management which will likely retrigger her diabetes. She will be transferred to the care of her regular Internal Medicine Vet.
Thanks for all of your well wishes for Zoe, we all sure miss her. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
oh poor Zoe… and your poor mom… 7 hours! we send lots of potp and prayers for good news
I am sending lots of purrs to Zoe. It’s really hard when treatment for one thing conflicts with other issues.
We are so sorry to hear this. We are sending healing purrs and thoughts xx
Oh no, we are so sad to hear this about sweet Zoe. It is even worse with the stupid COVID stuff when you can’t be with her. We are sending GBGV love and prayers to her. Mom avoids the ER vet at all cost because she always ends up spending hours there and many times they give the wrong diagnosis and Mom is beside herself for nothing. We hope the regular vet has better news.
Brian..I will give that prayer and those purrs in earnest today and every day. Poor poor little girl. BUT with the POTP helping too…I have hope.
Oh no. Poor Zoe and poor you. We so hope she can pull through. We send lots of purrs and good thoughts.
Praying for sweet Zoe, hugs and love to Mom and Dad …
Purrs and prayers for sweet Zoey

Our paws are together for sweet Zoe.
Oh no poor Zoe, purrs for her from us. (3) of are former senior cats had the same thing and like Zoe, suddenly stopped eating and then had breathing difficulties.
(You probably know this I’m sure, but those plug in air fresheners can be lethal for cats). We used to use them all the time until I read about it and, I fear may have contributed to our cat’s issues – they were 14 and 15 but still.
We’re sending loads of purrs and prayers to Zoe. We hope they can get her stable without causing other problems. How awful to have to wait 7 hours and not be able to go in with Zoe. (((hugs)))

Oh no! We are so sorry to hear about Zoe. We are purring mega purrs for her. Could an endoscopy be done rather than the surgical biopsy? That’s what Ernie had, it’s less invasive and quicker. It was found he has small cell lymphoma. He’s being treated with pred and a chemo pill ever since. Zoey also has GI problems suspected to be lymphoma. We chose not to do a biopsy and the oncologist was willing to treat her without one. If you need any more information, the mom says to contact her because she’s been down this road and… Read more »

I am so sorry to read this. Poor sweet Zoe. My friend in Singapore who writes the (currently dormant) Cat Tales blog managed one of her cats’ lymphoma for several years using traditional Chinese medicine. I wonder if that might help Zoe. You can find information on that here: http://megatmycat.blogspot.com/

We hope you all know how much we love you! Bear’s only been diagnosed with IBD – but in the back of my mind, I’ve always worried about lymphoma. I know that the food he really should eat for his diabetes makes IBD worse and vice versa. As always, you’ll be in our thoughts – but we’re sending extra hugs, prayers and healing energies your way!
I am so sorry and send my strongest good wishes for Zoe.
