Hello everyone, it’s Mancat Monday and, like lots and lots of you, I’m a former Shelter Cat. I was adopted three days before Christmas in 2008. Sister Dolly was also a Shelter Cat. Simon and Seal were trapped in our backyard, all fixed up and we adopted them before a shelter came into play.
Today I want to remind you of a very important annual event that’s coming up on September 24th, and that’s the annual Remember Me Thursday event. Changing just one mind can save a life. Post to Social Media to help others #SeeTheLight about pet adoption on #RememberMeThursday, September 24, 2020, so we can show the world why pet adoption is the way to go.
Since it began in 2013, Remember Me Thursday® has made more than 1 billion impressions on social media. Share you rescue pet on September 24th #RememberMeThursday and become a part of the movement. There is also a contest for Shelters to enter with amazing prizes, the contest opened on August 20th.
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
we are with you… during the lockdown, there was a run to adopt pets… and now when we look at the smal ads, we could cry… so many who are “in the way” now and who need a new home…
Our kitties are shelter cats and they are alright…well, Bert we are not so sure, but they have a good home.
So pretty ❤
We do what we can to help the shelter pets here as well. Nice post Brian
We shelter kitties want all you humans who are looking for a perfect companion to think of us FIRST! We’re ready, willing and able to bring a smile to your face AND you will do us a favor by giving us a FOREVER!
Hugs, Teddy
Oh yes, Brian…we will participate for sure!
Adopt, don’t shop!
We adopted Celestial Chuck and Angel, and Da Boyz too.
The PO’M and Sweetie came along like Simon and Seal.
We might just break out of our Monday routine for this worthy cause, Brian! September is the month when I was officially adopted, too and boy, has it been great ever since!
Thank you this is the first time I’ve heard of this. You know but I am a huge fan of shelters and the shelter that are big boy came from has so many cats and dogs step for everyone that is adopted they get two or three more in at the same time
We’ve always had rescue babies here. They need us the most. All your kitties are so lucky to have you.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all the kitties and my best to your peeps. ♥
Meaningful event! Thanks for sharing!
I am a former shelter cat too. Mum believes in helping out to give shelter pets a wonderful home.
We’ll get the word out, there isn’t a better cause we can think of to work on this week. Thanks for the reminder Brian, this is important work.
Oops, the day is in September 24th not today! I’ll work on getting the word out then, now and always.
It is so sad that there are still far too many animals in shelters.
Broke my heart reading that Light for Pets. Always does. How anyone can leave their pet “just because” is totally beyond my understanding.
It breaks our hearts – and Mummy’s too – to think about all the animals who so desperately need homes! We were lucky to be adopted before ever reaching a shelter – but there’s a limit to how many kitties one human can keep in a smallish apartment. Otherwise, We’re pretty sure Mummy would have adopted half a dozen of the homeless kitties She feeds effurry evening, some of whom have taken to following her home, or coming early and waiting by the door till She brings the food out!
Tears streaming down my face ~ some people are so callous and others can’t help it ~ may all the dogs and cats have safe homes is my prayer ~ Xxxx

Oh what a gawgeous photo..I want to bury my face in your furs

Beautiful picture of you Brian! That is a worthwhile cause for sure and I will try to post on that day! It makes me sad to think of animals without homes. All ours have come in directly off the streets or out of the woods.
You are SO right Brian! Efurry kitty (and to be fair, woofie too) deserves a safe home with a good Human. If a genie gave is three wishes that would be first on my list!!
Thanks for the Reminder Brian. We are all adopted and that is great but so many more await
We agree that there are too many pets in shelters. Millie was rescued from our local shelter and we adopted her from a rescue that sadly isn’t in business any more.
Thank you so much for the reminder, Brian!
Great post. I’m a shelter cat too. Rescue cats rock!
Such a great event! Thanks for the reminder Brian!!
Thank you for the reminder. Goro was rescue and Niko was a shelter cat. Every kitty deserves a loving forever home xoxo
You look so handsome Brian! We’ve never heard of the program and two of us are shelter cats!
Thank you for sharing. When Mom was trying to get Misty home, she was appalled at what she saw online for all the pets looking for homes. We will help out too.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
It is so sad how many are in shelters, and how many never get there forever homes.
Can’t ever hurt to help spread the word indeed.
I will be posting for you. I wish all pets were adopted ASAP as they get to where they were left. They are luckier than those trapped in empty houses and yards. It hurts my heart. I Pray for them to all find homes. You sure take a handsome photo. HUGS across the miles XO XO XO XO XO XO XO
It’s definitely on our calendar!
Great post! I am glad you were all rescued. All my kitties were too. XO
TW always posts for Remember Me Thursday but she might not have the concentration this year. 2020 has sucked. I’m still hoping to get my 9/11 post up.
Huzzah to a very worth cause.
I was a shelter cat and I can attest that it wasn’t fun being there. We’ll be participating in Remember Me Thursday again. ~Ernie
Every cat we’ve had has been a rescue of some kind. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
May every cat or dog find a Forever Home…
I wuz born in a shelter – glad I got out!
Thanks for spreading the word, Brian. We’re behind in this this year.
Brian,
I hope many sheltered kitties and pups find homes with this awareness program. All God’s creatures are precious. Thanks for spotlighting the upcoming event. Have a blessed and pawwwsome afternoon, furriend!
O, Brian, you look so cute today and what a wonderful announcement. I have a sister who lives with my mom, who is a shelter cat. I’ll bring her in next month. She deserves it💗😸Extra Pawkisses🐾😽💞
Amen! We love. love remember me Thursday and we want to see every shelter empty (there is still lots that the shelter people could do!)
Purrs & Head Bonks,.
Alberto
We’re so glad they are keeping this going every year!
