Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!
Yes, I’m still on the new blankie, I still love it! Hey, I’ve been telling you how thankful I am for some of the Christmas things showing up slow and early. Actually I’ll show another Christmas thingy in a bit. Today though I’m thankful for pumpkin and Holiday Smells, yes, really!
Apparently there has been a pumpkin shortage, well, not the big round pumpkins, the kind that comes in a can that our Mom uses to make pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. Not only is the Mom happy that she found some but the Dad is too because he’s a big fan of pumpkin pie, not just for Thanksgiving, but any old time.
Oh, then there’s those holiday smells, like the baking of cookies. No, we don’t eat human cookies but the house sure smells good when they are baking. The Mom always tries new cookie recipes for Christmas so she does what she calls a practice run. The Dad is thankful for that too because he gets to be a taste tester. The Mom made a batch of Pizzelles the other day and the whole house smelled yummy!
Before I go I wanted to show you another photo of some of the Christmas decorations. We will be sharing some of the bookcase cubby decorations first, so here is the first one…

Okay, so what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

We love your snuggly blanket and all your Christmas decorations, Brian. And it sure sounds like it smells might nice at your house!
We won’t be making much food for T-Day this year, but I do love the smell of baking squash, which is what a pumpkin is, Brian! So yummy, and very good for humans to eat.
There is no shortage of pumpkin pie over at old Costco (just kidding!) Our humans have yet to do Thanksgiving shopping. We just hope whatever pie they have will have whipped cream on top of it.
My human hopes to do a few holiday things this year… not sure how much, though!
Cookies and Christmas coming are hugely thankful things. Thank you for hosting the blog hop!
Sometimes the Human foods smell so good I forget I don’t like them, MOL! Those tall sparkly things are soooooooo pretty! I would love to whap one 😉 The Human says that is bad thought to have but I can’t really help myself.
we love your decoartions … the green color is so deep it must be magic, right?
It is hard to object to a new blankie. No smells. all new.
Those decorations are pretty. I didn’t know what Pizzelles were so had to google it. They look and sound tasty.
Love your blankie and Christmas decorations, Brian, we can almost smell the cookies and pumpkin pie😸Pawkisses for a Happy Thursday to all of you🐾😽💞
That really looks like a SUPER COMFY blankie – I’d be there too if I were you! My Mom is making an apple pie for Thanksgiving instead of pumpkin this year – but we didn’t know there was a shortage of pumpkin – yikes. Maybe Mom was smart choosing apple?? Thanks for hosting THANKFULS.
Love, Teddy
The only thing better than the cooking and baking smells wafting through the house is getting to eat some of the stuff. It is a good smelling time of the year!
Gosh, we be thinking alike today, Brian! My house isn’t smelling like cookies, it’s smelling fishy, as I am choosing my breakfast. But food is food, mmm?
Wow everything looking so festive over there! We think you and the human are setting a fine holiday example! Our human loved your green ornament pictures. We were not so impressed as they did not look edible. We DID get the feeling when we heard the words “pumpkin” and “smells” that more edible delights would be forthcoming…so we will stay tuned! We all have lots to be thankful for this year!
Morning Brian…whew thank goodness Mom found pumpkin. T-giving w/o pumpkin pie would be B A D!
I love the cubby and told my Bryan about your Mom’s clever ideas last night…we will probably be copy cats
Hugs Cecilia
I enjoy the book case cubby pictures and look forward to more. That one today is one made to enjoy sitting in the living room quietly, just looking at it and going where your good thoughts take you.
Meowser Brian dear furiend thank you for hosting this blog hop. We’re all getting excited about Christmas, too, though the staff is holding off on actually putting up most things until after Thanksgiving…
Love your blankie, Purrseidon
Mom noticed there wasn’t many cans of pumpkin when she picked hers up. She makes pumpkin cranberry bread with it for Thanksgiving. Alas while she found the pumpkin she couldn’t find the fresh cranberries. Maybe they will have some this week when she goes to the store.
I am thankful I scored a can of pumpkin and one of cranberry sauce. Thanks for hosting.Have a great day! XO
We’re thankful for the smells of baking here too. Walter is always first to the kitchen when he hears mom getting out her baking supplies and is always rewarded by getting to lick the bowls and any utensils that were used. YUM!
Yum! I am a big fan of pumpkin pie too, your home sounds like a lovely place for smellies this week. The cubby decor is beautiful – but don’t jump up there and check them out Brian – you could get in some trouble.
I love when you share your lovely decorations Brian. I can smell the cookies baking.
We would be snuggling on that blankie too!!! Those decorations are beautiful!
The Florida Furkids
Nothing better than your home with Christmas decorations and all the wonderful smells of the season. Now I’m hungry for pumpkin pie.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous day. Scritches to all the kitties and my best to your peeps. ♥
Sounds delightful at your house ~ love pumpkin pie too ~ ^_^

The mom is a great mom by the sounds of it! Baking is a wonderful hobby and everyone benefits including yummy smells all over the house. What are pizelles?
Today I am thankful you should my favorite trees first. Can’t wait to see the rest of the close-ups. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy seeing beautiful kitties playing on beautiful Christmas blankies because I do! I can’t decide which I like best the green tree or the Silver Tree they’re both absolutely gorgeous the silver one goes with all the silver and glass I have in my neck

It all sounds so delightful and I love the smell of cookies baking too, Brian! You look so handsome on your Christmas blankie!
What a nice way to celebrate the day we all give thanks for all we have during the year. We hope you find those elusive pumpkins
Beautiful Christmas Blanket … and cat.
God bless.
I ran into that canned pumpkin shortage too, but it finally seems to be back now. Between the sweet smells and the decorations, as well as that popular cozy blanket, it sure is Christmas-y around there, Brian! ♥
Mmmmmm, we have to talk to Mama about doing some baking this year! Our house is starting to get very festive AND Mama has taken all the Christmas toys out, hurray!!
Well Brian, the first I’ll say is I love your cats and the fact you saved them! The snuggly blanket is oh so comfy similar to the one found at my house. As for the canned pumpkin that Mommy finally found, I was in that quandary but decided to use mashed butternut squash, which is very tasty, I might add. And yes, I have a cat that I captured who now reigns supreme…Katniss (now 2) who by the way has 22 toes. Oh, one more thing, this is the time time here so thanks for being so hospitable…:)jp
Our favourite is definitely the smell of chicken roasting in the oven!!!
Purrs,
Tama and Genji
Those glass decorations are beautiful. I like the idea of a practice batch of new cookies. I didn’t know there was a canned pumpkin shortage… 2020… what next?!
Those glass ornaments are so beautiful. We also think you should try out that pretty Christmas pillow on that bed. It looks pretty comfy too.
We seem to be OK with pumpkin – no shortage here YET:)
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
i love the smell of Pizzelles too!
What a great idea to show holiday decor! I should copy you and do that. We don’t have Christmas out yet—just Halloween and Thanksgiving. TW makes pumpkin pie but buys our cookies. Usually the peeps get their fill on homemake cookies over their aunt’s house. I’m thankful that cos of covid, they’ll be no family gathering up north and the peeps will stay home with The Cat.
Amazing 😀
So glad to see that you are still getting blanket time, as it looks like you’ve had some competition for it this week! Those ornaments are gorgeous! Moms says she can’t have nice things anymore because of me. (Not a nice thing to say… but it’s probably true.)
Magellan for Mom (who’s on the mend this week!)
We think the humans should make us a catnip pie! Now that would be a good smell.
I hadn’t heard there was a canned pumpkin shortage. Although nothing surprises me this year!
Sounds like lots of festive fun is happening at your place!!
Mum agrees that being a taste tester is FUN!!
Purrs, Julie
You have filled my nose with the wonderful scents of Thanksgiving.
We two humans and a geriatric kitty are thankful for blankies!
Ah, the smell of baking is the best! You are a very lucky kitty, Brian, and your dad is super duper lucky to be the taste tester.
You look so happy! I am thankful that my family is healthy, and that next week is Thanksgiving! Can’t wait to have turkey and all the fixin’s!
I truly love, love, love your Christmas decorations that is sparkly green, sparkly silver that you called, “bookcase cubby”, decorations! Love, love, love those emmensely!!! Really got my eye stuck on those!!! I can’t wait to put up mine now too. We were looking for the outside lights today & naturally we couldn’t find the hooks that goes in the gutters. What a bummer. Back to the drawing board… hahahaha! Have a great weekend my friend, and kitties too! Hugs!
HaHa my comment posted for you at Sandee’s. My technology skills are magical I guess. I love the photos, I Love the cheerful bedding and you are all set for the holidays. Thanks Brian for hosting. You all have a great weekend. HUGS
I wholeheartedly agree with that! I love pumpkin and holiday smells.
We love the decorations, they’re so purretty! Today we’re thankful to have a lovely warm fire to snooze in front of when its cold and miserable outside! XX
