If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!
Today I’m thankful for my blogging friends, specifically those of you who are pretty darn observant and noticed something about me on one of my blog posts. Here was the picture that so many commented on…
Many of you got a squee alert and said how much you loved my pink paw pads. That was mighty nice of you and I’m sure thankful for so many complimentary comments. That got the Dad and the Mom pondering and here’s why…
See that? Yes, my paw pads aren’t supposed to be pink, they are supposed to be black. Yikes! Something wasn’t right so it was time for the Dad to discuss with our wonderful Vet. Turns out I have Pillow Paws, who knew?!?! I’ve got antibiotics that I have to take every day for 2-3 months. Goodie, another med, but that’s okay.
I’m really thankful that so many of you commented on my pink paw pads and hopefully the medicine will help, they are a bit puffy and hurt a bit. If you want to send some purrs and prayers my way I’d appreciate that too.
So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Wow! An infection in your pads that made them turn pink, who knew? Anyway, i am glad you are on medicine for it and pray it clears up quickly.
GOOD GRIEF?!?! NO WAY?? Oh my Brian. Thanks to everyone and their toe bean comments!
Whoa! Observant friends sure are good to have, Brian. Sorry you have to take those meds, but we are glad pillow pads are treatable. Purrs!
Brian! Wow! We have never heard of Pillow Paw! We are so glad that your Dad noticed there was something wrong and took you to the vet. We are so very thankful! And Brian your Parents are AWESOME! We are so glad that you are having a marvellously Happy Day!
We have heard of those puffy paw pads but never had a friend with them. We are sending lots and lots of purrs and prayers your way Brian. We hope they don’t taste yucky!
The medicine I mean
maybe it was a hommage to valentines day? wear pink for the day of hearts?
Wow, that’s a good thing your readers noticed that! I hope you are all better soon with those meds.
Brian my friend! We did notice your pinkie foot pads but didn’t realize it was something BAD…..not familiar with pillow paws but we sure do hope that your medicine works and your paws aren’t sore any more! Sending you POTP……….
Hugs, Teddy
I have never heard of pillow paws and had to google it! I hope the antibiotics work and the puffiness goes and you get your black pads back.
Wow, that is interesting. We have never heard of pillow paws but hopefully your meds will help that situation. Olivia has pillow pads but that is just what Mom calls them because they are so big and soft, there isn’t anything wrong with them.
Brian, I sure learned something! I didn’t know there was such a thing. Thank goodness you are getting something to help them! I wonder what circumstances cause that?
Brian,
Not having a kitty around for years I had forgotten that your paws are supposed to be dark. How on earth did you get a paw infection, did the doc say? I hope the meds clear this up and your paws feel better soon. It’s no fun having pain. I’ll say a little purrayer for you, furriend. I’m thankful your furriends flagged the dad and mom about it. Have a blessed day!
Good grief Brian pillow paw? I’m gonna have to ask Gigi Google to tell me about that.
I am Thankful your Dad was quick to ask Dr. Vet.
Hugs Cecilia
I know nothing about cats so did not notice, so glad people called it to your attention. their paws must be like humans fingernails, my brothers DIL looked at his nails while they were eating out and said, Dad your nails are not right, you need to go to a derm doc. he did and found he had amyloidosis, a protein blood cancer. he is a five year survivor because she called attention to his nails. thankful for the people who pointed out the pretty pink paw pads, that should not be pink. wow. so sorry you have to take… Read more »
Meowy-wowy, I have pink paw pads all the time, and had no idea this could be an issue!

Gosh, we’ve never heard of Pillow Paws! :-O We’re glad your dad caught this and hope that the meds clear it up quickly, Brian. Derry is sending tons of healing purrs! ♥
Sorry you have to take more medicine but it’s good that your readers (and your pawrents) discovered you had a problem. We have our paws crossed that you feel better soon.
I’ve had kitties, but this I didn’t even notice. You’re so handsome that’s all I noticed. I’m glad your peeps are on top of things. You take your medicine and get better soon.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. Prayers coming your way. ♥
We never heard of that until last week and now we’ve heard it a few times. We hope the meds work quickly and we’re glad you have observant friends!!
The Florida Furkids
Yikes! That sounds painful. I am glad you got some meds. Thanks for hosting. XO
That’s wonderful, I’m so glad folks pointed that out and very thankful that I now know there is something called pillow paws – I’ll keep an eye out on our kitties paws too.
Wow, what a great catch! PIllow foot or pododermatitis can be very painful and very serious, and very difficult to eradicate if the paws are allowed to get really bad, but your dad would have noticed it long before that. We’ve seen really bad cases in a few ferals and community cats, and a friend’s cat had it. Good luck!
Lots purrs and prayers for a quick recovery sweet fur person ~ xxxx

Wow, that’s a condition I hadn’t heard of before, good catch! So glad you have meds for your paw pads now, Brian, and I hope they are all better soon!
We are thankful today that the weather wasn’t worse in our area than it was and we hope everyone still affected by it comes out okay. (We and all cats are fine. We had to be away from the computer awhile and we will catch up with posts but likely won’t go back and comment on everything.)
Oh my- now I must inspect my Lucy cat’s paws! Have a very wonderful day!
Wow! We were among those who commented about the pink paws! Our Bebs had some discoloration of some of his pads, but we never thought much about it. Maybe we should have…
Blog friends are the best!! We are sooooo happy you are on the mend!

Awww I’m sorry your pretty pink paws are hurting you. I hope they start to feel better soon.
Wow ! Good catch ! We read about a shelter cat with “pillow pads” and they were really painful. He finally got better and got adopted, but it’s good you didn’t have to go through that ! Purrs !
I’ve never heard of that but I’m so glad you caught it! Sending lots of purrs…
Wow – pillow paws? Who ever heard of such a thing? So thankful for the eagle eyed viewer who brought this to your attention! Thanks for hosting – hope you are healing and leaving those pink paws behind you!
We had no idea that these little pads could be afflicted! Hope they get well soon.
Nobody in our house had ever heard of such a thing. We’re thankful you let us know, Brian! Hope your little feet feel better soon.
You never would have known about your pink feet if you didn’t blog. Our readers are the best.
I am grateful for those observant blog friends too! My goodness, if it’s a couple of months of antibiotics, that’s a pretty serious thing. I sure hope that you start to heal really soon.
Hoping you feel like yourself very soon. I am sorry you had pain and had to take medicine. It is good though that you can get better soon. HUGS to all of you.
Wow well spotted people! I have never heard of that infection before! Glad you are doing well 😀
I’ve never heard of that. I hope the meds work and your pads get better.
Brian, Mom says she has never heard of pillow paws and will have to look it up. We are sorry that it is painful, and we are sending POTP that the antibiotics take care of it. Good luck! Oh, I hope the medication works. ~hugs~ This can be an awful condition according to my brother, who had a cat suffer this many years ago.
Oh my gosh, it’s amazing that a blog post helped you realize something was amiss with your paw. That’s a long course of antibiotics, but hopefully it will get your paw back in tip toe shape.
I had no idea pink paw pads were not a good thing! Hope they are all better soon, Brian. ♥
WOW! Your poor little thing! Mom and Dad will give you your medicine and you will be as good as new in no time!!
OMC! I never heard of that. I hope your pads turn black again soon. Last winter my nose turned white but it wasn’t serious..
