thankful thursday blog hop brian 02112021

Hello teveryone, welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always so very thankful to each of you for joining us! Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!

Today I’m thankful for the arrival of our shipment of substitute cat food, actually three of us were thankful. There might only be four of us, but we do tend to eat a lot of food. Once again we’ve had trouble getting what we like to eat. We order our food online. I won’t mention the name of the company but they are owned by PetSmart and they bought BlogPaws and shut it down.

We have, forever, eaten Purina Fancy Feast Pate foods and one flaked food. All of these continue to be out of stock. Nope, there isn’t any locally either. That leads me to say WFT Purina or WTF Online Distributor??? Yes, Amazon has some at four times the price. We’ve been into this virus issue for over a year now so figure it out, we’d sure be even more thankful for that.

Anywho, we got some substitute food that is sort of okay and we are thankful to have it. Poor Seal only eats one kind and it’s been out of stock for five weeks now so she’ is out of food she likes. We know she will be thankful if her food ever arrives.

Okay, that’s it for me, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

We don’t understand why your specific food has gotten scarce! Could they have stopped making it, and switched to something else? It’s happened to us before, and it wasn’t fun, for sure! Hope you all get plenty to munch!

  2. messymimi

Because of Covid shutdowns, some supplies are scarce, including aliminum for soda cans and steel for cans of cat food, so many manufacturers are only making the best sellers to save on materials.

Hope your usual stuff comes back soon!

  3. Marv, Jo Jo, Kozmo, Cinnamon & Barb

We are glad that you got food you will eat! We started to have trouble with our favorites over a year ago. Mom went to a totally different brand and we had no Fancy Feast at all. We thought we would starve to death, but Mom pulled tricks on us, like mixing in diced chicken or ham! Now we are eating almost everything! Thanks for Thankful Thursday! We LOVE to come and Hop! You guys are amazing!

I am so sorry for your troubles not getting your food you need. I find it is very commonplace. I hope you will all be able to get along until you can gt what you love. Take care. You are all so beautiful and handsome. Have a beautiful day.

  5. Timmy Tomcat

We know what you mean as we just went through the “find your food” game. We were shocked at Amazon prices add don’t buy there but come on. We send purrs to Seal.

  6. easyweimaraner

we dislike that, they all blame every problem on da virus, but after a whole year they should adapt…same here… delivery announced for january 31st., postboned to february 15th… we agree, wtf!

  7. Memories of Eric and Flynn

I am sorry you can’t get your favourite food any more. It is always blame it on the virus, but they have had long enough to get it sorted out with supplies.
I have my own food order arriving this morning and the email tells me they have everything. It is some of the short dates that I have more of a problem with, but they are mostly okay.

  8. Ananka

I have been lucky with my cat food. I always order the gang Royal Canin cat food. And use a few companies. But things are very pricy at the moment, Amazon has been pretty bad lately 😐

  9. Teddy

That’s no fun that you have problems getting your food! I eat Hills special diet food and when we order it we usually get it the next day or the next at most. Wish everyone had NO PROBLEMS like that because our food is so important! We will be THANKFUL to learn that your problems with deliveries go away soon.

    Hugs, Teddy

i would never have believed we could be in the situation this pandemic has put us in, with shortages and brands we love not out there. even the shelves in the stores don’t have what I used to buy. I hope you find something for Seal and that the new food works out well.. I could send Beau to teach a tutortial on how to eat anything and everything that is handed to you… he even ate a piece of dill pickle. we have found nothing he will not eat…

  11. Madison

Oh dear, not being able to get your food is not good at all! We are thankful we have our normal food, but it is something new for Mom to have to go to the store to pick it up every few weeks. Hope that company gets the food back soon. The pandemic damage has caused issues with the oddest things!

  12. Katie Isabella

Same here, guys. But mom was able to get some of my favorites a few days ago! I was so glad I ate too fast and I have been on a horking binge!

  13. Purrseidon

We love Weruva, but they don’t sell direct from the factory, either. Have you heard of a place called ? They seem to have most of what we want online, but we don’t know anyone who has used them.
Oh and thank you for hosting this blog hop.

  14. Diane

We’ve noticed our grocery store’s canned cat foods shelves have been pretty bare as well, and our favorite Friskies Indoor varieties have at times been OOS as well. We are usually able to get our Chewy requests though – so far.

  15. Xena

We think next time we’ll post how thankful we are for being on the raw diet, where our food is never out of stock and always fresh and delishious. It takes us less than 87 seconds to devour big (not big enough) bowls of fresh meat, veggies and fruit. Hoping everyone is having a good week! XOX Lucy and Xena Schnauzer Warrior Princess

I have issues getting what we like to buy but thankfully I’m not out of food completely. I do manage to find ways to work around what I can’t get. Although it feels like this pandemic will go on forever, I know in time it will pass and things will be back to normal again. Right now we have make sacrifices and push through the difficult times. I still feel pretty darned blessed considering all things.

  17. Pam

The furs and I are very thankful this morning for a nice warm house to wake in. The furs are curled up next to me and I think I am staying in my PJ’s today!!

  18. Catscue

We have had a hard time locally getting FF seafood pate and flaked too. We have been able to find them sometimes at PetSmart. Tell me what kind of food Seal likes and if we can find it, we’ll send it to you.

  19. Millie & Walter

We’re sorry to hear you can’t get the food you like and hope you can find some soon at a reasonable price. It should be criminal for people to buy all the stock and then gouge the price.

  20. Cecilia Upchurch

Oh MY CATS I know what it was like to have one Diva Kitty with discriminating taste buds..I cannot imagine have 4…..very thankful 3 out of 4 are happy today.
I hope and purr Seals arrives soon.
    Hugs Cecilia

  21. Sandee

I’m sorry this is happening to you. It’s not right that you can’t get the food you like. I hope this changes soon.

Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥

  22. Lisa

It’s always something, isn’t it? We order our food from Petco and hope the shipment comes soon! This happens to me too when I find something I really like and then the grocery store discontinues is. Hope your weekend is warm and wonderful.

  23. da tabbies o trout towne

dood….ther bee emptee shelvez heer in de land oh trout az well, noe matter what
store yur at….and we haz seen litter startin ta bee come scarce sew we toll de gurl
stock up !!!! what kinda FF does seal like, we can sneek round de interwebz up heer N see if any one haz it ?

  24. Darla M Sands

I’m sorry for your food issues. That stinks. Funny enough, the single thing we couldn’t find were disinfectant wipes, an item we didn’t think to stock up on early last year. We were glad Sam’s Club recently offered their Member’s Mark brand as no spray cleaner and paper towels clean up with such efficiency.

  25. Leah

Glad you got some food in but sorry you are having trouble finding the kinds the kitties like best! We order it too and I worry about shortages. Hoping you can find the right food soon!

  26. Jan K

Oh no! I can’t believe there are still shortages of things because of the pandemic, but I’m still seeing it too. It makes me mad when they inflate the prices of things on amazon too. That should not be allowed.
We sure hope poor Seal gets her food too!!

  27. Caren

I’m thankful that I have cat food being delivered this Saturday (from Amazon) and Levi has dog food coming today (also from Amazon), we chose Amazon because Levi’s puppy food is hard to find. Mom can’t wait for him to be on adult dog food! Love, Roary

  28. Adorapurr

We had the very same problem this week, Brian. My daddy Nikolas and his roommate Chevy were boycotting the chimken pate, so Momma went to order beef, but Chewy was out of it. And they were out of everything Momma usually orders. What the Friskies!!! So she had to order from Amazon. However, the Chunky Chimken looked a little greasy, and the next day Wabbit wasn’t eating. Acting strange…wonder if the noms made him sick. We have so many at my house, Momma can’t afford to buy them the high priced stuff at Petco.

  29. Mary McNeil

I buy at local stores, and lately the shelves have been getting barer and baer. By grabbing what I know my crew likes when I can, I have buil up some in reserve, but I too wonder what is going on. This is what is was like when tha pandemic first began. I hope you can get what your all like – especially poor Seal.

  30. Create With Joy

I am SO sorry to hear that you kitties are having trouble getting your favorite food and sure hope you can find what you need soon! We have been fortunate in finding Magellan what he needs but have been concerned about that being an issue (particularly re: the very specific litter we use!) I have wondered if they have been adjusting ingredients in some of the foods because Magellan has been particularly fussy as of late, turning his nose up at some of his previous favorites. I know you’re supposed to not change their diet but I have been trying to keep several brands and flavors on hand in anticipation of having issues like this occur (so if we can’t get one thing maybe we have something else he will like).

Hang in there Seal. (If you let me know what she likes I will be happy to keep an eye out for you!)

  31. The OP Pack

We hope the food supply chain improves asap for all of you. We have so far been getting our regular food, but the peeps are finding several of their preferred food items to be out of stock and backordered. More concerning is that one of Dad’s medicines has the same issue, and he is now being forced to switch to the generic form. He has had issues in the past with generics, so we are all crossing our paws this one will be OK.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  32. Indulgedfurries

Shortages are showing up in the strangest places. I wonder if it’s a shortage of cans. I thought I heard something about breweries having a can shortage. Hopefully your regular foods will be in stock soon.

  33. Feline Opines

We are thankful for the food that comes in the box and for the fun we have in changing our eating prefurrences just to annoy The Human. Every time she thinks she’s figured out what all three of us like and places a big order we decide we don’t like it any more. Food and entertainment, you can’t beat that!
    Purrs & Head Bonks,

  34. Foley Monster, Pocket and River Song

We get out food from Chewey too but we are still made they shut down so many social network sites.

  35. William's Kith & Kin

Brian, first, let us say we’re thankful for your kind words about our bro. Loss is always a hard thing.

Second, our mom has noticed the same thing about the prices of FF pate on Amazon! What is that all about? I guess we finally convinced her we could get the kind with some gravy and we’d eat all the meat instead of just the gravy, since we just got 48 cans from them (less expensive than the pate, for some reason). At any rate, we don’t ever order from that you-know-who company but Petco…and they decided they were no longer going to carry all but about 2 varieties of FF. Boo.

  36. Cathy Keisha

I just read today that brands that make people food as well as pet food are using all their resources to make the people food and not making the pet food. Yea, it sucks big time. We’ve had trouble getting FF both in our local store and at that online shop.

  37. K Bear

That sure is frustrating. I am glad that you have *something* to eat but I hope that your favorite foods arrive very soon. Hugs to Sister Seal. You can do it Seal, eat a little of the new stuff!

  38. Wing Commander Basil & The B Team

So glad mew got some fresh supplies! Amazon are like the Highway Robbers of old on some products right now. During the first lockdown here in the UK, the P.A.’s poor mum paid £56.00 for what she thought was a huge box of cat kibble, when it arrived it was a tiny box which cost £1.99 at the supermarket… thieves! There was no return on the item and Amazon couldn’t care less 🙁 Hope mew’re having an epic weekend XX
