Hello there gang, welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always so very thankful to each of you for joining us! Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!

Today I’m thankful for the Winter sunshine in my office, I really am. See, I told you I was moving around to find the best spots and on top of my desk seem to do it for me today. At certain times during the day the sun hits it just right and lots of times Simon is here, but since he was elsewhere I thought I’d enjoy the sun.

This desk, my desk, actually belonged to our Grandma. It’s one of those pieces of real furniture, the kind that they don’t make anymore. It’s build well, sort of like our green bench, which also belonged to our Grandma. I sure miss her, but I’m thankful we got to spend time with her before she moved to heaven. She didn’t know Simon and Seal and of the original gang only Dolly and I are left.

Oh, one more thing. The Dad is having a dental procedure late morning so if we don’t comment back for a little while that’s why. We will catch up to you eventually though. Okay, that’s a wrap. What are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Old furniture that has memories is always wonderful to have! And Brian, you look exactly like you should be there enjoying the sunshine! We are Thankful for you! And we are purraying that your Dad’s dental is totally uneventful! Have a Marvellously Happy Day!

Brian, your grandmas desk is beautiful and that sunshine, I am going to miss it. We had many glorious days of sunshine these past days. Now the wind, the cold and the snow have returned with their icy cold temps. Stay warm my friend and hoping your dad is doing well. Many prayers go up for him and all of you too.

Sun on your desk sounds really nice Brian. Our Dad got his desk 30 years ago and it was old then. It weighs a ton so it won’t be moving much but he likes it and it is a two cat desk. We send your Dad purrs for his dental.

Some of those real furniture pieces are real treasures. Glad you get some sun on it this time of year so you can be on it and enjoy it. Hope things go well for your dad at the dentist.

they don’t make REAL furniture anymore, or not that i can afford. I love old furniture, so that is ok with me. that desk pad is in the perfect spot to catch the sunbeams… fits you well…POTP for dad and the dentist visit

Mom’s bedroom furniture is also real wood so to speak and heavier than mom likes to move around when she must. About all she has that’s real wood furniture.

Brian, we are thankful for you, and for your weekly hop!
We are fortunate to have two heirloom desks; one from my parents, and the other from The Hubby’s parents. At this time, both are out of cat range.

Meowser purraying for your dad’s quick recovery ….. me thinks dentists are just and revolting as vets and doctors, so feel the need to purray for anyone who has the misfortune to visit one.

    Brian,

I’m very thankful for sunny days. Yesterday we had plenty of it and it helped to warm up our house lovely. Today, it’s gray and cold. I won’t be able to get warm enough sitting still but after while when I become more active then I should be okay. 🙂 Of course, I’m very thankful to have four solid walls to shelter me from the elements for which I’m deeply grateful God has given to us. Have a blessed day,my furriend!

Brian I think Simon needs to relinquish that purrfect spot to you whenever you need it. After all you are the family Patriarch. I like your suncatcher at the window too

I love that picture and the desk too. Old furniture was built so much better. My desk here is a cheap piece of . . . well, you know. The desk we bought for our WV home is an antique writing desk and built very well. It is not exactly built for a computer but I don’t mind.

Sending good wishes to your Dad for his visit to the dentist! The desk you are resting on is a precious piece of history! We have a few pieces of furniture like that! Have a great day with lots of hugs and scritches .

That is a beautiful desk, Brian, older furniture is always the best. The sun is giving you a nice glow today! Hoping the dental goes well.

Oh, I hope the dental procedure goes well. ~hugs and prayers~ And hurray for sun pools! We have cloudy skies today, but the drear pales in comparison to the blessing of bloggers’ sweet words of support. By the way, my big brother and I talked recently. I’m happy to report he’s hanging in there. Best wishes!

  18. Jan K

Yay for sunshine! It seems we haven’t seen a lot of that this winter. We love the old furniture too, you are lucky to have those special pieces from your grandmother.
    Hope Dad’s procedure goes well!

  19. Pam

Well, I don’t think I have seen you in that room on that desk before. Moving around more or just having your pic taken in different spots for fun?

  20. Cathy Keisha

That desk is in amazing shape. Grampa had a desk with a manual typewriter inside it. I think TW might have given it to her ex. We do still have a rocking chair and curio cabinet fro Gramma. You’re lucky to have met yours.

  21. Create With Joy

A “real” desk… sunshine on one’s shoulders… yes, these are the things that make us happy! 🙂 Enjoy your desk and the winter sunshine, Brian. Let your dad know I’m praying for him. Dental procedures are no fun… but I’m sure he’ll feel better and thankful when it’s done! 🙂

  22. Diane

Hope you got all the bills paid working in the office Brian. Tell dad we hope his mouth isn’t too sore.

  23. Foley Monster, Pocket and River Song

That is a cool desk. They don’t make things like that anymore, nor do they make anymore of the things sitting on it.

  24. Caren

hoping that your Dad is feeling well after his procedure! I am a big baby at the dentist. I ADORE older furniture, it has so much more charm than the crappy stuff they make today.
