Today I’m really thankful for the kindness of others and that’s always the case. But today I’m talking about feral cat love. We had a sweet little gray and white kitten show up and it was all alone. It didn’t belong to Mom LE (pronounced Ellie) or Little Mom (the one we found never been able to trap yet). We think it got scared and lost during the first night of the fireworks, which for us was the week before the 4th of July.
Here’s a little video of Mousie…
Since the kitten has a beautiful shade of mouse gray, so we named it Mousie. It was scared and alone and tried and tried to love on every kitty that walked by, in particular Mom LE. Mom LE ignored the little Mousie, but the wee one was most purrisistent. Finally, little Mousie won Mom LE over. Since Mom LE had 3 of her kittens whisked off to the shelter, she must have felt she had room for one more. Mom LE even let little Mousie nurse with her remaining two kittens. Oh, the kittens are all eating on their own, they do still nurse every once in a while.
The kindness of Mom LE warms our hearts and we’re so thankful she accepted the lost one. Of course Mousie is on the trap and rescue list now. So what are you thankful for today???
