Hello gang, hope all y’all are doin’ okay today. Actually I’m doing pretty good since the fireworks weren’t that bad. Fireworks? Yup, it’s the South and everyone here believes that fireworks is an inalienable right. So, any holiday is firework time. They are legal here so you can buy them any old time.
Sometimes we don’t even need a holiday for the fireworks to go off, just a day that ends in “y”. Some human will set some off and another human will hear then and then they remember they have some fireworks and so it goes, on and on. At least Labor Day wasn’t bad, maybe because there was labor involved in shooting them off.
Okay, enough about those boomer things, I’m going to enjoy the quiet. Have a fun Tabby Tuesday. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Very brave of you, Simon and I am glad that you get used to firework. Hope the rest of the gang are doing okay too.
we really wonder why humans have to celebrate always with loud noises… is it because their ears are not as good as ours?
At least nobody around here let off fireworks. We think they all got used up for July fourth.
Enjoy your relaxing time, Simon!
I am glad the fireworks weren’t too bad, Simon. You still don’t look very impressed by them though.
I’m happy to report that in our area of Virginia fireworks are NOT part of the Labor Day celebration…!! Glad to hear it wasn’t too bad in your neck of the woods!!
Hugs, Teddy
We have neighbors that thinks that every weekend they have a cookout must end with a few fireworks. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr Thankfully, they didn’t last too long last night. I don’t like them either, Simon, and yes, I was on mom’s lap.
Our day was great until about 8:30 when the idiots behind us had to set off the noise things that make our house shake. Mom yelled hbo words out the window she was so mad. Why do they find it so fun to do that stuff? Glad your place was quiet.
Glad the fireworks were not too bad.
I never saw the draw of setting off fireworks in one’s yard. I guess that makes me a Firework Grinch. Bah Humbug!
I hate fireworks. Just sayin.
I’m shocked to realize that we didn’t hear any fireworks last night on this side of town. Or maybe they just didn’t last long enough for us to connect the dots. Anyway, I’m glad they weren’t too bothersome for you!
Glad to hear the fireworks were ok and your in one piece and looking extra regal there Simon I must say 🙂 (=⚈ᆽ⚈=)
Have a royaltastic Tuesday 👍
We didn’t have any fireworks around here yesterday but they don’t bother us anyway. Fireworks aren’t legal in our area but it seems that plenty of people still get their hands on those things every Independence Day.
so glad we had no fireworks, beats me why people love them so… to me it like taking hard earned dollars and setting fire to them…. Simon you have the most unique markings around your eyes, you look amazing in this selfie
We were lucky that we didn’t have any fireworks here. We’re glad yours were not bad.
Lulu: “I am not a fan of fireworks, so I’m glad to hear they weren’t so bad for you this Labor Day!”
OH mama mia- I hate fireworks! Too noisy and they scare all the animals! Take care Simon- we love you!
I’m glad we only have fireworks on 4th of July. Sometimes people do some on the New Year but it’s rare. I’m so happy about that. I feel for you. I’m happy it wasn’t to bad.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥
Amen to the first sentence in your 2nd paragraph. I will never understand what is the fascination with fireworks.
Hugs Cecilia
Brian,
There weren’t any fireworks going off for Labor Day. Knoxville used to host a big annual event called Booms Day but they canceled that several years ago and although we stopped going to the live show, it was nice knowing the city put it on. The local TV stations would air coverage of the fireworks display and we frequently watched it. I know you’re happy there wasn’t much of a commotion in your neighborhood with things going boom. 🙂
yeah it’s really strange, we had jerks setting off fireworks SUNDAY night and nothing last night……go figure!!
Glad the fireworks weren’t so bad, Simon! You look spiffy today!
Simon we are so lucky in the North but Dad gripes he cant buy the little ones that are no real bother to us. Anyhoo Happy Tabby Tuesday buddy
Maybe your Dad should buy you all ear-plugs … after all everyday has that old “y” …
We started wondering if it was the 4th of July or if someone was trying to shoot us. But we weren’t scared either!
Simon, there are ordinances around here to limit fireworks to just a few days on the either side of a federal holiday. We think they are much too noisy, and prefer if the manufacturers would make silent fireworks. Or those drone displays that are silent…I’d like to see that!
I don’t think the cats mind fireworks here but us humans get annoyed at those people who think it is a good idea to shoot them off at 1 a.m.
We didn’t have any fireworks around here which I’m surprised about.
dood….we had firez werkz heer two….we mizzed out on dinner cauz oh de noiz…..visited with de dust buneez under de bed….again ~~~~~~~ grrrrrrrr
We are glad it was a quiet, firework-free weekend for you, Simon. We didn’t hear any here either. Have a great week.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Fortunately we have fireworks only on New Year’s Eve!
I’m glad we don’t have many fireworks here!
I feel sorry for you guys down there. Maybe they ran out for Labor Day and will have to purchase more for Halloween, etc. Around here it’s just car alarms honking all night.
No fireworks here, as far as I know.
Coffee is on and stay safe
There were fewer fireworks here this year than in the past. Still, Teddy stayed in the closet most of the night.
Glad there are no fireworks around here right now.
Yikes!!! We’re pretty much safe from them around here besides July 4th!
I’m glad the fireworks weren’t bad, Simon, but I wish there were no fireworks at all.
You are so cute ~ love those eyes ~Xo
We didn’t like the fireworks ~ especially the newly restored canon they shot off here ~ Wild holiday ~ glad to enjoy the peace and quiet ~ Xo

We are so glad things have quieted down…we don’t understand why humans are so obsessed with making loud noises!!
xoxo,
Arty & the Gang
I’m always annoyed by careless (and often illegal) use of fireworks. But folks seemed to respect the dry conditions this year. So, yeah!
We’re glad those Labor Day fireworks weren’t so bad, Simon. We have some knuckleheads around here that shoot those things off all the time, too.
You are brave. I would not have liked that. That is why we stay in the dark, cold north.
So glad that the fireworks weren’t too bad. Humans can be so inconsiderate!
Happy Wednesday!
Sadly they are available over here in Scotland too. I think they should ban them…well the selling of them to the public and have controlled displays like they do on 5th Nov over here for Guy Fawkes Night. My cats have no issues with them, but know a few dogs that do 🙁
We get them only twice a year, thank heaven. Hope you get plenty of peace and quiet for a long time to come.
You are sure a brave fellow. I am glad everyone is doing ok. People are selfish never thinking about who they could hurt. Glad you are all safe. LOVE to you.
