Howdy gang, thanks once again for stopping by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always thankful to each of you for joining us! Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!
Today, I am thankful that we got the results of my biopsy. I have IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) which we’ll manage and treat accordingly. There was no sign of lymphoma and no sign of cancer cells. Who would have thought that IBD would be good news, but in my case it sure is, we’ll take it.
I’ve started weaning off of some of the meds I’ve been on for years and so far that process is going well. I’m starting on Prednisolone to treat my IBD. I’ll have a follow up appointment with our wonderful IM Vet in about a month.
I’m also thankful for my wonderful regular Vet, my IM Vet and the Vet Techs who always take such good care of me. Oh yea, I’m thankful for my Mom and Dad too, they take such good care of me! So, what are you thankful for today??? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
I’m glad you only have IBD too, Brian! I will call that a win.
That news is definitely something to be thankful for! 🙂
IBD sure beats the other things you mentioned.
That’s good news, Brian!
You have a wonderful team of people on your side, i hope the meds take care of your symptoms and have you feeling like your usual self in no time.
We are thankful for this bit of good news, Brian. IBD is definitely better thank lymphoma, right? Hugs to you all.
That’s good to hear, Brian. I am so happy for you and the gang!
That is something we can all be thankful for.
Brian we are happy you now know what is going on and can get the right medication. Brother Rumpy has something similar and it responds well to the prednisone he takes for his asthma. Our Dad likes less medication when possible. Purrs to you, Mom and Dad and the family.
Oh, Brian, that is such a relief! We are thankful, together with you, that it is “only” IBD, which can be treated and managed, rather than those other awful pawssibilities.
Pawpats and kitty kisses to you!
OH, WE ARE SO, SO HAPPY FOR YOU. Yes, that…other thing…can be controlled and I’m sure you will be back in shape in no time. YEA for good vets and your wonderful family.
we see it as da good news too… and we know your vet will do da best for ya… because he is da best.
We are very thankful with you Brian and your furmily, of this good news…well, good in that is is the lesser of the problems it could have been…
So thankful we just want to woof, Hooray!
Oh boy, so so so very happy you have a manageable condition not the awful C! You had us worried, but now we’re so thankful and happy! Purrs to you!
We went with a Mo Cats post, but since we’re thankful for Mo cats, we’re gonna join your hop anyway, hope that’s ok! 😀
Yes, IBD is great news considering the alternatives. Good luck from here!
This is certainly great news to be thankful for.
Brian my friend – you have MADE MY DAY. I’m glad no sign of cancer and while IBD is no fun, YOU GOT THIS!!!! Sending you hugs……..
Love, Teddy
That is a huge relief to not have cancer! Other diseases are not good but they are better than the “c”. Take care of yourself.
We are waving our paws for you Brian and your family that you’ve received “happy news”, that no really bad things are going on. We know now that you will be well cared for, that this is treatable and as we’ve always known ~ you are in loving hands, every day in every way. It is indeed something we are all thankful for today …
That’s great news that you have the lesser of two evils…I hope you feel better soon! You have a lot to be thankful! That’s nice 🙂
Brian, we are so relieved it’s not lymphoma, even though IBD is challenging enough. All our purrs and purrayers to you, and we hope the Pred helps tremendously. ♥
I am thankful with you and with your mom and dad that these results are better than what we all feared. Hugs and potp coming to you from me and Beau
We are all thankful you got the least worrisome of all the test results, Brian! And we’re thankful our Riley is healthy and happy. XOX Xena, Lucy and Mom
Brian,
I’m glad your mom and dad now know how to treat you. While IBD isn’t fun, it certainly isn’t the big, bad “C” word which is truly reason to be thankful and just plain tickled pink about, so I’m very, very happy to read the news. I think with the right diet, you’re going to be a.ok! Thanks for letting us know, little furriend!
That’s FABULOUS news and something to be VERY thankful for. At least you can control IBD. We’re so happy for you!
The mystery is now solved and a plan of care is in place. Such wonderful news. I know your peeps are most thankful. I’m thankful for such a good outcome.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥
Thank goodness, Brian. I am very glad that the news wasn’t far worse. Take care handsome boy. You have my purrs.
I am so happy to read this news. I will keep you in my prayers. Thank you for hosting. Have a great day. XO
That’s great that it isn’t cancer! As someone else said, at least IBD is controllable. Good, too, that you’re weaning off some of your other meds!
We’re glad that your news is better than you thought it could be. Our paws are crossed that you do well on your new treatment plan.
Brian what wonderful news!! Yes IBD is manageable and you have a very good Management Team
Hugs Cecilia
hooray!!! (by the way you’re one handsome cat!) good news indeed. Something treatable. Annoying but not life threatening! Yea for doctors and yea for mom and dad who love you
I’m relieved it is only IBD… have you tried the collodial silver water that you can ingest? I’ve heard – but not tried – that can heal digestive issues… It is something like a tablespoon for a human, so would probably only be a drop or two for someone our size… research it!
Purrseidon
A manageable condition to be sure. I’m interested to hear what works for Brian.
Oh, we are so relieved there is no nasty cancer! Yay! We hope they can get everything figured out for your IBD though, so you can feel 100% better soon, Brian! ♥
Oh that is good news indeed Brian, a much better diagnosis than lymphoma! Hopefully the prednisolone will help! You look so handsome today!
Excellent news, given the alternative! Yay, Brian!
So thankful it’s something they can treat.
That is wonderful news Brian! We are all so relieved, enjoy your day sweet boy. I bet your Peeps are breathing sighs of relief and starting to relax again – hugs to Brian’s Peeps.
I have had IBD for several years. We managed it very successfully for 3 years with a raw chicken diet. Then we moved to Nulo Turkey/chicken and that worked for several more years. Now, because I have CKD, we have moved to First Mate chicken and chicken tuna because of its low phosphorus and high moisture content. I also started prednisone earlier this year, transdermal ear gel. But it was making my ears go bald and my fur around my ears turned brown!! So for now I am off the pred gel for about 3 months and so,far so good.… Read more »
Great news! Xoxo.

Brian, you KNOW I am BEYOND THANKFUL that you have IBD………and not anything evil. I am also BEYOND THANKFUL that your Dad didn’t do the kind of biopsy that I did….I will never, ever, ever do that again….even if what happened was like a 1 in a million chance it would happen. NEVER, EVER again. I wish I had known about the type of biopsy that you had when Cody had his biopsy (which had he lived, also turned out to be IBD…)……my boy should still be here. I am so happy that YOU ARE HERE and I want you… Read more »

We are thankful that your results were so good – and treatable ! Purrs !
Here, here! Glad you don’t have the C thing. My loss might be your gain. Dr. D. is moving back to SC. *sob sniffle* She’s the only vet I’ve ever trusted to take my blood or trim my claws. She’s so good with cats.
This can be coped with and I am glad to hear the news is nothing worse. I am trying to get my post ready but it might be tomorrow.
Oh thank GOD!! I have been praying for your four sorry little paws, Brian. I actually have tears in my eyes as I type this!!…jp

Dude, that’s epic news and we’re cheering supurr loudly at BBHQ for mew! Today we’re thankful for being able to get the PC repaired this week, and we’re epically thankful for the little hedgehog who appeared in the garden a few nights ago; we haven’t seen one since the summer floods in 2013, so it was a great week.
I’m so happy your results show a treatable disease. 🙂 I am thankful the weather has turned cooler.

Charlee: “IBD! Chaplin, that’s what you have.” Chaplin: “No I don’t.” Charlee: “Yes you do! It’s why you get that pill every morning.” Chaplin: “I don’t get a pill in the morning. I get a little canned food treat.” Charlee: “And it’s why you get that special kibble in the special dispenser that I can’t open.” Chaplin: “No it isn’t. I get the special food because I’m special and you’re not.” Charlee: “And it’s why—” Lulu: “Charlee, just give it up already.” Charlee: “*SIGH*” Lulu: “We’re glad you got this news, Brian, and not news involving the ‘C’ word or… Read more »
