Hello there gang, thanks once again for stopping by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always thankful to each of you for joining us! Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!
Today, I am thankful that the Dad was finally able to clean up the barn MOL! No, we don’t have a barn, so let me explain. Our ferals have two feeding stations and sometimes when the ferals eat their stinky goodness it can be a bit messy with food getting all over the floor of the feeding station. That’s okay and the Dad usually keeps it clean. But we’ve had so much rain lately there was no cleaning it until this past weekend.
The barn? Well, like I said, we don’t have a barn but the Dad said that the feeding station smelled like a barn. I’m thankful that the feral feeding stations got all cleaned up. That kind of smell can also attract varmints and predators. Speaking of which, we’ve got a coyote problem again and sadly it got two of our favorite and most loved by everyone ferals. We’re all pretty sad about that but hopefully there will be one less coyote in the world soon. The ferals will be most thankful for that too. Right now they’re pretty scared all of the time.
So, what are you thankful for today??? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
That is very sad about the ferals. Coyotes are bad news and every time our mom sees a cat out and about around here, she worries about them because we have coyotes too.
Before we moved to a condo we had indoor/outdoor cats and we are pretty sure when 2 disappeared and the other only hung out on our deck and no longer went in the woods that a coyote or fisher cat had a 20 lb lunch. After our move all of our cats became indoor only.
That’s so sad that a coyote got two of your ferals. Yes, i know, they have to eat, too, but i wish they wouldn’t go after pets.
Oh no, I mourn with you at the loss of your friends.
Just because we cannot pet them, doesn’t mean we don’t love them dearly.
Our feral feeding station is much too clean…
Oh my, so sad that the coyotes took away two of your favorite feral cats. The circle of life can be much more vicious than we like!
We’re so sad that coyote got your feral friends. Thanks to your dad for taking such good care of the ferals at your place, and keeping the barn clean.
:-((( Poor ferals…I can’t really blame coyotes because they need to eat too..but how come so many coyotes in that area?
Paws up for getting the feral stations cleaned out!
Those coyotes are scary.
we are so glad the weather was better and we hope you can get rid of wile e. coyote and his friends….
That is very sad about the ferals. I hope the coyote is soon history.
Well done to your dad getting the feeding stations cleaned up.
Once upon a time, our feral family (in Florida) would lose members, likely to gators, t’was sad and distressing to know this … farewell to yours as they have crossed their Rainbow Bridge.
We are so sad to hear about the coyote getting some of the kitties. How terrible. We have coyote and fox in our neighborhood sometimes and worry about them getting small animals.
so much to be thankful for and now the ferals are living in a world turned upside down by a coyote, just like us by the pandemic.. we have coyotes here, but have not seen one on our streets we walk since a few months after we got Big, scared me to death to see him on our walking street but that was almost 3 years ago
We’re glad your dad was able to clean up the feeding stations…and we’re glad that you have such wonderful humans to care for the ferals. We’re so very sorry that the coyote got two of them, though…It’s hard, because humans have encroached on their territory and there’s nowhere for them to go, and they (and their families) have to eat too. That doesn’t make it any better; it’s just that Nature is often cruel.
So sad about the ferals that the coyote took. I’m glad dad got the barn cleaned up. It’s good to have a clean place to go eat. Prayers that the coyote goes far away.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥
Was that your nice way of saying your Dad has a gun and isn’t afraid to use it? We have coyotes too close to us too, and it scares our Mom, not for her but for Xena and Chai, our “littles.” XOX Lucy
We’re glad your Dad got to clean up the “barn’ but we’re really sad about the coyote getting two of the ferals.
That is so sad about the ferals. My hubby would gladly shoot it for you if we lived near you. Thank you for hosting. Have a great day. XO
We were so sorry to read about the lost ferals. We hope the rest will be safe.

🙁
MOL about the “barn!” Good luck at the Vet today Brian!! xoxo
How sad about the feral kitties.
Woohoo everyone will enjoy the squeaky clean quarters
Hugs Cecilia
Great news about the cleanup, but very sad about your feral furiends, we are so sorry to hear of their untimely departure at the paws of a coyote, we will pray that no other kitties fall victim to it. Sending oodles of hugs xx
I am so sorry for your loss, the poor ferals having to deal with predators – it is a worry for all feral caretakers and really nothing can be done. Those ferals knew they were loved and cared for and that is so very important.
Coyotes! We have them around here…Mom says we are lucky that they are not habituated and mostly avoid the village, but because we live on the river, we are NOT allowed out after dusk. We all know the rules and are good about coming in. And we have some messy eaters in the house! The table gets a good scrubbing almost every day! We are thankful for you guys! We LOVE coming to your blog and seeing what you guys have been up to! Thank YOU!
I’m sorry that the coyotes got two of the ferals. We have coyotes here too and have to be careful about letting our little dogs out without a leash.
Sweet kitty photo ~ Dad is a treasure cleaning the ‘feral feeding’ area ~ Xo

You sure do have the best Dad EVER! We love what good care he takes of you, and all the ferals.
Sending lots of POTP in hopes those Coyotes hit the road and never come back!
xoxo,
Jakey and the Gang
I am SO sorry to hear about the ferals – we have a coyote problem here too!
A friend of mine lost her cat to coyotes.
Hope that everyone remains safe (and glad the “barn” is now clean!)
We are sad to hear about the coyotes reappearing. We hope they move on to a different area soon.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
So sad to hear about the two ferals and the coyote. Sometimes it is hard to understand the ways of nature.
Yay for getting the feeding stations cleaned 🙂
I am so sorry about the 2 ferals though.
It is nice that they have a good place in your yard.
Purrs, Julie
I’m sure the feral kitties will appreciate a clean “barn.”
We are sorry about your two ferals. Our Human feeds some ferals near here and there are coyotes around. We really hope the kitties are waaaaaaaay smart! They’ve been around for a lotta years, so we think probably they know how to stay safe. Hope you are feeling good Brian. XOXOX From Buddy & Gigi (and Spitty’s Human too)
Your dad seems like a warm and loving guy.
Coffee is on and stay safe
Oh no, that coyote needs to be stopped! I feel so bad for the ferals.Thank your dad for cleaning up after them and feeding them.
Your dad should be the patron saint of cats
I’m so sorry about the coyotes taking two of your precious ferals 🙁
Coyotes are a concern here, too. I’m sorry about these looses. On a cheerful note, your close-up is absolutely stunning. Stay safe!
Ugh, you know we hate those coyotes too! We have not seen ours for a while (though we did have a bobcat visit, which was no better!). We heard about this stuff we could put around our yard – wolf urine – and it seems to be helping. We know your Dad will do all he can to keep these away for good, but if he wanted to know more about what we’re using, I’d be happy to share a link.
So sad that the hungry coyote thought it was OK to gobble up a kitty, even a poor helpless feral one. Your Dad is so helpful to the ferals that depend upon him for food and such like.
We sometimes have foxes and coyotes here too, but have not seen one lately. Our yard is fenced, and said fence is buried 12 inches to make digging under it difficult.
Thanks for the blog hop and I am thankful fhis week that Layla is on the way to being healthy again phew
