Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: Adopting a Senior Cat Is Wonderful, Just Ask Jax

thankful thursday blog hop brian 01 11182021

Hello gang, thanks once again for stopping by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  I am always thankful to each of you for joining us!  Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!

Over the years most of us long time cat bloggers have have probably posted about the virtues of adopting a senior cat.  I’ll have a recap in a bit, but for now I’d like to tell you about one sweet senior kitty that recently found his forever home.  Meet Jax…

thankful thursay blog hop jax 02 11182021

Jax is a most handsome thirteen year old guy who was adopted by our friend Mom J. on October 12th.  Jax is a complete joy, he has such a mellow purrsonality, loves his special blanket, looks handsome in his bandanas, enjoys snoozing.  Jax loves to drink from the drippy faucet so Mom J. bought him a fountain and he totally loves it. We’re thankful for wonderful humans like Mom J. who has a heart filled with love for her senior Jax.

Adopting a senior cat does have advantages.  Senior cats require less supervision and you don’t have to kitten-proof your house. They’d much rather lay on a nice blanket than tear down your new curtains.  Usually, what you see is what you get, they’ve already established their routines and their purrsonalities shine through.  Plus, you really help a kitty that needs you the most and you free up a slot in the shelter for another kitty to get lucky.

So, what are you thankful for today?  Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Jax is a most handsome ginger boy – and yep – seniors are more relaxed and snuggly and really REALLY appreciate having a steady home….no shuffling around – just able to relax and be happy for the rest of their days.

I am so happy for Jax. He is a cutie and so are you. I keep trying to get my 80 yr old mom to adopt a senior cat, but she is afraid of tripping on a cat. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO

If I hadn’t stumbled upon our kittens last December the plan was to adopt a single older adult to keep Jezebel company since Luna passed away in 2014 and Tilly in 2019. Hurray for sweet Jax finding a loving human. Blessings to them both. 🙂

Jax is a very handsome and dignified looking feline! As for being adopted which in itself is wonderful, I am glad he now has his own fountain. Isn’t funny how some cats like to drink from dripping sink faucets and yet others want nothing to do with water? …jp

Jax is so beautiful. I love it when people adopt senior cats and dogs! We are so fortunate when they reach their golden years. I am thankful my senior Husky, Wolfie, even with his arthritis is still feeling like a pupster! New blogger friend I am working with “Our Spiritual Journey” has joined your blog hop today!
