Hello everyone, thanks once again for stopping by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always thankful to each of you for joining us! Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!
Today on Thankful Thursday I’m thankful for two things, yes two! I’m thankful for Play Time and I’m thankful for Treat Time too. Both of these have been strange to me for a number of years since I was on those heavy duties meds. Now that those meds are gone I’m enjoying things again.
Every night before bedtime our Dad hosts Play Time. He’s done that for as long as I can remember. I started on those heavy duty meds back in 2010, so it’s pretty safe to say I’ve not been playing much, if at all. Well, even though I’m an older guy now I am really enjoying the evening Play Time. That seems really puzzling to Simon since we’re often going after the same toy, he’s not seen me play since he’s been here. I really am enjoying Play Time again and I’m first in line when the toys come out.
Then after Play Time comes the before bed Treat Time. I could have cared less about Treats, but not now. Right after Play Time I’m often first in line for the Treats. Pretty amazing and it makes the Mom and Dad smile to see it. Treats are pretty good and it’s nice to have the yum before bedtime!
So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Well Brian, I am thankful that you are enjoying those two things now. If you don’t mind me asking, how old are you? What type of meds and why were you on them? Now, why are you not taking them? I am happy you are having fun playing and I am sure it has confused Simon. He will get used to it.
I was going to ask about the medication, myself. Hope you don’t mind and so glad you’re living a fuller life!
What a joyful, thankful thing! When they are needed, medications can be of great help, but in this case, it sounds like they weren’t needed and i’m glad you’re not on them any longer.
Chaplin: “I agree with you, Brian! Mama says I would rather play than have a treat, believe it or not ― if she offers me the choice I take her to the cabinet where the wand toys are, not to where the treats are.”
Charlee: “I’ll just be having a treat while you’re off doing that, Chaplin.”
Ava is thankful for playtime and treat time, too, Brian! We’re so excited that you are enjoying them again! XO
So good to hear that, Brian. And you do look so much better and healthier these days.
I think everyone should have Play Time and Treat Time before bed! Happy New Year!
Oh Brian- we are so happy you are feeling good and well! xoxoxo
I am so glad you are back playing and enjoying treats, Brian. That is huge!
play time and treat time is the best time… apart from meal time ;O)
I’m sorry to hear that you weren’t able to enjoy these things earlier. On the bright side, you can get in there now for Play Time and Treat Time with the rest of them. I guess it’s like your second kittenhood. Go, Brian, go!
I am glad you are feeling so much better and enjoying life to the full again. Sometimes it is too easy a solution for some vets and doctors too to over medicate
Nothing makes me happier than knowing you are enjoying life without heavy meds dear Brian. So happy about that!
Love, Teddy
right now at this moment I am thankful to read this story of you enjoying play time and treat time and being off those meds and doing well. so much to be thankful for. Dad is a good dad, playing and eating, nothing could be better.
Brian, we’re thankful you feel so much better off the heavy-duty meds! Have a great Thursday!
The changes in you now that you are off all those meds are truly amazing but we are sad you felt so weird for so long. It’s almost like you are a kitten again!
Wonderful thankfuls. I am glad you are playing and enjoying treats once again. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO
Brian, You sound like a brand new kitty now that you’re all detoxed and off the drugs. I’m telling you medicine can be good for you but then sometimes you have to wonder. I hate taking anything that’s not absolutely necessary and if it’s only going to mask my symptoms instead of cure the problem unless I’m not ready to kill over then I probably won’t take it. Of course, I’m a human and at any point I can evaluate and change plans but a kitty doesn’t have that luxury. Humans do their best to make your life comfortable. Oh… Read more »

Brian, we delight in hearing that you aren’t ready to retire yet!
And you show that upstart young-un Simon that you’ve still got the moves.
Those are two great thankful things, Brian. We’re happy that you can enjoy both now. All those medications weren’t doing you justice at all. I’m glad you’re off them.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your happy peeps. ♥
Brian, my mom loves you to bits. And this makes her smile! I like seeing her do that these days. Enjoy these wonderful times with your sibs and playing and having treats!
Dad is wise to have playtime before bedtime. A tired and happy kitty with a full tummy sleeps well too
Hugs Cecilia
How great that – glad you are enjoying play time once again Brian.
We’re thankful that you are feeling better and enjoying treat and toy time. Of course, we are all for treat time whenever it is.
That is so awesome Brian, I’m so glad you are getting all these new experiences! We do the same thing every night before bed, playtime then treat time. I started it because I heard that the kitties would be calmer at night, but that isn’t necessarily true – MOL! Now it is a ritual and we really enjoy it.
That is so nice to hear!
Aww, Brian, it’s wonderful to read about how much you are enjoying play time and treats!

Your dad is an awesome pet parent.
Brian, we’re so against over- or heavily-medicating cats. Sometimes a cat needs them but often they don’t. So glad you’re enjoying playing and treats again. I’m really enjoying playing and having TW feel well enough to play with me is a treat.
How wonderful that you are feeling so good. Toys and treats are a great way to end your day. Actually they great any time.
Happy New Year sweet furiends! Treats and playtime are epic, we love those too!
Play time and treat time – two of the best things for sure! I’m glad you’re enjoying them again.
