Hello gang, not what you expected is it??? But we are trying out our newest and elevated bowls with an extra wide food area. The Mom and Dad wasn’t sure we’d like them because, well, we’re formerly feral and anything new tends to frighten us a bit. Well, that wasn’t the case this time, we took to them right off.
It solved another problem too and that’s Whisker Fatigue. It’s a thing, really, and Simon has some super long whiskers and seemed to be not enjoying our previous bowls. We both pretty much eat in this spot so these bowls are purrfect for us. Brian didn’t get one yet because he prefers his meals in the living room and these might not stand up well on the carpet. We’ll see.
Did you know we eat frequently here? We have breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night meals. Our ferals also get fed four times each day too. Okay, we’re outta here, for now, y’all take care. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Those are lovely bowls and perfect for comfortable eating.
my first thought is you two have a table setting prettier than mine for Bob and I. Placemats and elevated bowls. wow .. I have no heard of whisker fatiuqe, now I have. learning lots each time I come here. Beau and all our dogs eat dog food twice a day, and get people food 3 times a day. beau has a bowl for dog food and it is elevated. he has a plastic bowl for people food, but we hand feed him from that bowl. bit by bit. we measure dog food and people food.
I have a bowl like that – I much prefer sitting down and not having to bend way down standing up to eat. Even if I stand, it’s easier to swallow food when your head isn’t down on the ground in a flat dish! YAY FOR RAISED BOWLS!
Hugs, Teddy
I take a pill to help me keep my food down, so these bowls could be good for me!
How High are they/wide? Do you have a link? I tried the tilted ones once and I knock the food onto the floor but these look to be elevated but not tilted.
Purrrrrrrr thank you!
Mom bought me those very same bowls it looks like. I love it. Took to it the first meal. She has to wash them constantly and may buy another set. (I have one bowl each for soft food and for kibble foods) She has put my soft food into a regular cat dish and while I started on it, I left it unfinished until she put it into my just washed elevated one.
We have elevated bowls for dry food and extra-wide bowls for wet food, but not both. Actually, we have one elevated bowl that is good for the whiskers but the other two are not.
Those are very fancy bowls and it looks like you both are enjoying your meal in them!
Xena:Of course you ate out of those bowls, that’s where your food was, duh.
Lucy: They’re cats, and they lived a hard life before they moved in with Brian. They’re different than us, so give them a break!
Xena: Well, we used to get lunch, but now it’s only breakfast and supper.
I prefer to eat off the floor, meaning my place mat, but lynn insist i have a bowl to catch the
crunchie crumbs. but i’m short so i don’t have to have tall dinner ware. glad you all saw the
puzzle box. thanks for the meows. precious
Those sure are fancy bowls! We’re glad you took to them and are enjoying eating from the elevated perspective.
Years ago the biped found wide, shallow glass “dessert” bowls at a thrift store and has been using them for cat food. They work really well, as most “cat” bowls seem to be too small. Her trick for elevating the bowls was to buy cheap dollar store plastic baskets (shallow and wide enough), and put anti-slip drawer liner on them. Works for Derry! 🙂
What absolutely wonderful bowls. Give your staff a Well done on this purchase.
Angel Madi ate her Fancy Feast from the very same Walt Disney themed small flat plate that was passed from human sis, feline brother then too her. I did put her dry food in a bowl though.
I love this photo.
Hugs cecilia
Yes they are super nice and mine bowls (for foodz) are the same ones! (Though I would happily eat out of anything Mom says!) … Only my water is served in a flat bowl … and treats, well, those I have to nibble from “her paws”.
Those are very elegant bowls! We also get fed four times a day when #1 is here. When she is away, that goes down to two or three times. We deal with it, but we like our regular schedule!
Purrs,
Tama and Benny
I place Sweetie’s food bowl on a box, so she can eat with ease; I figure she’s got some aches that make standing while eating a better option for her.
Da Boyz haven’t yet graduated to elevated bowls, and we use wide, shallow Corningware Sidekicks so there is no whisker fatigue.
Those bowls are a great idea! Can we move in with you? We would love to get fed four times a day. Around here we get two meals a day but our pawrents get three. That doesn’t seem very fair, does it? Of course we do have scheduled snacks throughout the day, too.
Nice bowls. Definitely not what I think of as bowling though. 🙂 XO
Those are wonderful bowls for you sweet kitties ~ Life at your house is exceptionally good ~ Xo
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Looks like those bowls work really well! Chow down and enjoy, kitties!
i habz a bowl like dat iz passedz down frum da honey sunshine
Teddy, Jack, and Sophie eat 3 times a day. They used just to have 2 meals, breakfast, and supper. They drove me crazy when I had lunch, so now they have lunch, too.
that photo is just the cutest ever!
Great bowls, it looks like they work well for you ! We also get fed four times a day. Purrs
Nice looking dishes. TW tried buying me lower dishes with wider surfaced but I push my food right outta them on the floor. HAHA. TW doesn’t like that.
I’m glad you found some bowls more suitable for you.
My husband started putting wet and dry kitty food on flat plates. They’re not elevated but sensitive whiskers don’t get overstimulated. We’ll see how things progress as Jezebel continues toward her late teens. At about two years of age, Terra and Polly like plates as well as their Stimulo feeder. 😀 Blessings to you both and all your lovely family.
Those are really nice looking bowls! Your peeps sure take wonderful care of everyone.
Charlee: “This must be one of those ‘splits’ that you hear about in bowling sometimes …”
Me alegra que les gustaran sus platos nuevos. Te mando un beso.
I’ve been using a wide elevated bowl for years. Even my water bowl is elevated. I really like it. And I usually get to eat wherever I want…all over the house. ~Ernie
Those are so awesome, Simon and Seal. We are so glad you enjoy them so much!
It looks like you both pulled off a perfect game.
Those bowl look like they need to be kept with fine china.
Coffee is on and stay safe
I have never seen bowls like this. And I will have to go learn about Whisker Fatigue! Eat well, my friends!
I like that bowls, they have style…just like you, kitties😸Pawkisses for a Happy Mother’s Day to your wonderful mom🐾😽💞
Nice bowls! Kozmo would like a raised bowl! Mom is going to look for one. But we wonder how that will work out…we get fresh wet food twice a day and it is left for us (along with the crunchies) for free feeding. Right now, Cinnamon is getting Breakfast AND Supper because she has to take antibiotics, and dhe gets to free feed on crunchies too. Great to see you guys! Purrs Marv
Whisker fatigue, i’ve heard about that. It sounds like something that could happen since you don’t eat out of bowls in the wild.
Those look really good, i think someone donated a few to the shelter and that’s where i’ve seen them before.
Those are cool bowls!
Those are great bowls!! Hope you can enjoy hem for a long time! You had me giggling a bit wit the title, LOL!
