Cop A Plea: An Unlawfully Tender Second Chance, Amnesia Romantic Comedy (An I Can’t Stop Loving You Story Book 2) by Hilary Grossman
I know everyone misses their friends, especially friends you’ve not heard from in a while. In Cop a Plea we get the chance to catch up with Pete and Waverly, the friends we made in Book 1 of the I Can’t Stop Loving You Series. Cop a Plea not only gives us a chance to catch up with our friends, it really makes you stop and think what would you do if the love of your life didn’t remember you, or only remembered some bad parts of your relationship.
Here’s the Book Blurb:

Could anything be worse than your husband forgetting you?
Yes. Of course…
He could remember you as the young girl who made his childhood unbearable.
After years of putting love on the back burner in exchange for career success, I let my guard down. I fell head over heels for the hot policeman who pulled me over late one night for speeding.
At the time, I didn’t realize we had a past. After all, he changed a lot since graduation…
Now, newly married and expect\ing our first child, our lives are perfect until Pete suffers a severe brain injury while chasing a robber.
When he finally regains consciousness, the last few years of his life are missing, including all recent memories of me!
As Pete mourns the death of his first wife for the second time and tries to come to terms with living with his high school nemesis, I keep wondering….
What happens if he never remembers me?
Will our love be strong enough to bring us together twice?
If you like engaging characters, second chance romance, and laughing out loud, then you’ll adore Cop A Plea!

It really was fun learning some of the backstory scoop on both Pete and Waverly, but I sure didn’t see the awful turn of events coming, with Pete’s traumatic brain injury, and neither did Waverly. And oh my goodness, Pete’s Mom is the Mother-In-Law to Waverly that we’ve all heard about. If I didn’t know better I’d swear that Hilary had met my Mother when she developed that character, WOW!
But back to the story, your heart will ache for poor Waverly as she tries to navigate her new normal. Try as she might, it just isn’t enough to trigger the right memories for Pete. Poor Pete is totally lost within his own partial memories, he’s struggling and you can feel it along with him.
Cop a Plea is a fun read, the storyline is fun and the characters are really engaging. This book is part of a series so you might want to read Book 1 first, but it’s certainly not necessary. One thing is certain, you’ll feel like Pete and Waverly are already your best friends. Cop a Plea is out today, pick up your copy and you’ll enjoy the ride.
Don’t forget to stop by and visit Hilary at her website, FeelingBeachie.com.
I’ll have to see if I can find it, Brian.

And as for Karen, the MIL, you crack me up. But I think she is a very common personality type – especially when it comes to sons… I hope your mom had a turn-a-round like Karen did… XOXO
