Howdy, everyone, I’ll go ahead and ask the question, are they done yet, are they? Oh, the fireworks, that’s what I was asking about. Boomie Season is going strong here, or I should say strong and long. Actually, truth be told, it wasn’t all that bad, well, it was bad. The ones our neighborhood did over our lake ended at a reasonable hour, but the other yahoos went on and on and on.
AND, if that wasn’t bad enough the door was busy too. We don’t get that many visitors so when the front door opens I know to go in the big bedroom and hide under the recliner. Dang, it was a non-stop parade of visitors, first one and then the another and then the one came back for round too. I’ve been a nervous wreck between the fireworks and the front door noise, yikes.
I guess I really shouldn’t complain, the Dad says the fireworks should stop for a while around the 15th of July. WHAT?!?! Okay, that’s enough for now, I’m going back under the recliner. Y’all have a fun Tabby Tuesday and and I might see you soon! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

we hope th boom&bang time is over soon… and we wish people would celebrate without all that…
You do look worried, Simon. I hope those fireworks soon stop.
Last night here was as bad as the 3rd was….hopefully THAT’S THAT though and tonight we’ll all finally get some rest. Fireworks really aren’t necessary to celebrate Independence Day – at least that’s what we think. I prefer celebrating Independence Day being independent…..not having to hide in the basement…..getting to go outside and enjoy the peace and quiet! Oh well………hope you all have no more drama and trauma either!
Hugs, Teddy
They were actually firing rockets right across the street! A first! If it had kept up much after 10 last night mom would have called the police on them. Scared me and kept the humans in the house from sleep.
We don’t like firework at all…I wish they were forbidden, even on holidays.
Every night they got worse and worse and last night they went on for hours. Just ridiculous as so many humans have to be up early today to work. Hopefully the worst for this year is behind us and behind you all too.
We don’t like fireworks either! They started on the 3rd here and went on late into the night, both nights.
I was hoping for no more fireworks here, but it is thunderstorming this morn so my ears
are not safer than the last 4 nights and the rest of the celebrating week here at our
lake community. We live high on the top of one of our many hills here, but sound
carries right into my sensitive ears. Precious
We are not fans of fireworks either, Simon. July 3rd was worse that July 4th here. We get them every Saturday from now till Labor Day. yuk and double yuk!
Oh my, please tell me that is NOT TRUE about over by the 15th, Mama and Me have been up 2 to 3 hours 4 nights in a row and last night was the worst. started at 6:30 pm and going strong at 11:30. I the Beau, was able to sleep because Mama left the tv on and it helped me settle. She could not, there were at least 8 houses on 5 blocks surround us doing the rockets and anything loud. when we walked this mornig the streets were covered in firework debri. Mama got so upset last night… Read more »
Simon I join you and saying are the done yet.
I will add that thankfully it wasn’t quite as bad in our ‘hood as in past years. Probably because restrictions were lifted and there was a huge fireworks display for the city. AND no where near here
Hugs Cecilia
I know you hate the boomies. We had more noise on Sunday than we did last night. I wish we didn’t have fireworks at all. I’m with you on this.
Have a purrfect and quiet day. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥
Simon, it felt like a war zone here last night; am surprised I was able to drop off to sleep!
Sweetie ignored it all…because she can’t hear it, and Da Boyz were incredibly serene.
In Michigan, fireworks for Independence Day can be used only from 11 a.m. June 29 to July 4, until 11:45 p.m.
Hopefully, none of our neighbors decide to push this.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, ♥
We’ve had lots of booming going on here too, Simon. Millie doesn’t like it much but if she lays against our dad in bed, she seems to forget all about it.
So sorry your weekend was anything but peaceful. Hopefully the booms are over! Good that you have the recliner to hide under.
Luke left home, Frankie is still under the bed, Slim is too old to care. This was our loudest Fourth ever and if they weren’t shooting off fireworks they were shooting guns. Yikes!!
WE HEER YA DOOD…..oh, sorree we waz yellin
ta bee hurd over all de fire werkz noiz, been doin
that now fora week….yellin ta bee hurd…happe
week a head two all 😺❤️
Lulu: “I’m right there under the recliner with you, Simon! Or I would be if I fit. More likely I’m under Dada’s desk or under the bed or hiding in the bathroom until it’s all over. The other animals here, none of them understand this is the apocalypse. Definitely not Charlee or Chaplin. Not even Java Bean!”
Java Bean: “Ehh, living on the streets, I’ve heard it all.”
Hope everything is quiet now XO
It looks like you have a consensus, Simon. Maybe you should makes plans to come and see us next time. We have some fireworks on Canada Day, but nothing like you’ve described. Until then, try to keep your cool. Your Daddy will always protect you.
Simon, did your neighbors think it was Halloween with the trick and treaters? We had more boomers than usual here but they were small ones. One of our new neighbors was apparently shooting them on their wood terrace 10 ft from our building. I guess they don’t know their building is all wood. TW was using HBO words. Our double paned windows are pretty good about noise.
we had boomies too…not as bad as last year either (probably people can’t afford them right now lol), but still annoying. Levi did much better than expected and was much better than Dakota ever was with them. Roary sat on the chair (where the seat was under the table), but he seemed fine!
The boomies were terrible here last night. We hope they are done now.
When I was a kid ages ago we have firework displays and a few sprklers at home….NOW? It’s awful- M-80’s bombing the neighborhoods and idiots thinking it’s fun to make as much noise as possible. OUr cat Lucy was really upset as was I.
Have a peaceful day today!
We had lots of booming here too.
It wasn’t too bad around here and Mudpie slept right through it. Geez…the 15th?!?!?!
Around this area the thunder boomers were way worse than the fiery ones, LOL!
We have bylaws that limit the setting off of fireworks unless its following the times allowed.
Thankfully this year the neighbours across the street did NOT have their annual party with *professional* fireworks…I think they had a company picnic at their place, but now they are moving to another town. We actually will miss them; they were the best of neighbours other than that one noisy night…but always done before 11m.
Simon, we feel your pain! We have the same sorts around here. And since the loud noises would shock Mom awake every single time, she got as little sleep as we did. At least she didn’t try to hide with us behind the bookcase.
We were blessed. One group did a fireworks show in the field across the street on Sunday evening, and their dad made them end promptly at 10pm. Then Monday, there was some fireworks but it wasn’t that close and it ended rather early. Maybe all the rain is putting a damper on it here.
We hear ya, Simon. There are a bunch of chuckleheads around here, too, who like to set off the boomers long before and long after the 4th. Stay safe, okay? XO
A mi perrita tambien le afecta los juegos artificiales. Siempre me encierro con ella y le pongo música clásica. Te mando un beso.
