Hello friends, thanks for stopping by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always thankful to each of you for joining us! Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!
Pardon my bed head, I do want to thank you for all the care, concern and love during my recent Vet trip and the after party. Well, I thought calling it a party might lighten things up a bit. I probably should have called it an after potty. For those who may have missed it, I will fill you in on what happened.
I went to see my Internal Medicine Vet on Monday, I dislike the car ride but all was pretty normal, I meowed and Dad drove. We got there a wee bit early so we waited a few minutes and went to check in. We didn’t wait too long and then we were escorted to one of the exam rooms. The Vet Tech came in and greeted me and Dad too. Dad told her we were extremely nervous because of what happened the last time my Sister Dolly, now Angel Dolly, was there for her exam. She said she totally understood and that memory would be forever etched in her mind too.
Anyways, she took me in the back and my Doctor gave me an exxam, stole some of my blood and some of my pee. She then took me back to my Dad. After a short chat we were headed home again. Pretty easy, right? Well, after about two hours of being home the Pee Wars attacked and I went to the litter box to pee or try to pee nine times in an hour or so. Not good.
I’m thankful my Dad is usually prepared, we had pain meds and pee meds in his magic medicine box and started me on them immediately. Those are the meds I worked so hard to get away from, but I sure needed them now. Dad sent a message to my Internal Medicine Vet that he was going to take me to the Emergency Center. She called and said that it sounded like I was having an Idiopathic Cystitis flare up and that another long drive and long wait might make it worse. She recommend that Dad continue the treatment he started and that I would likely improve soon, if not then we could go to the Emergency Center. She didn’t see any signs from my unianalysis to indicate a blockage of any kind. I’m also thankful she called twice to triage with my Dad.
Later Monday night I started feeling better and the need to go to the litter box lessened. The next day I was feeling better although with those meds I’m once again stoned. I’m now weaning off of those meds again and I’m most thankful that I’m feeling better again .
Now, about my blood work. I’m thankful that the results were mostly good. Because of my illness I had a very high white blood count but it dramatically decreased this time, just a smidge away from the normal range. I’m still Stage 2 CKD, although the numbers did increase to mid-to-high Stage 2. We’ll be trying really hard to keep my numbers stable. Everything else was really, really good and I’m thankful for that too.
Okay, that’s it for now, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Brian, it is always a worry when you go to the vet but I know your dad looks after you so well. Toulouse and I send our best love and get well soon wishes, take it easy and relax Brian. * gentle hugs *
Hmmm. Not being a medical person by training, i wonder if something the vet did to get your urine sample irritated your urethra. Even being careful, that area is very sensitive and any irritation might cause you to feel like you have to pee constantly.
Anyway, i’m thankful you are feeling better and your health is holding mostly steady!
Brian, your dad has all kinds of tricks up his sleeve…yay, Dad!
And being stoned once in awhile can be fun, no?
Take care, handsome!
Me alegro que este mejor pobre gatito. Te mando un beso.
We’re so thankful for this mostly good news, Brian. Hooray for your awesome dad knowing just what to do, and for a vet who is really good, and knows you so well. XO
Oh my Brian, I am sorry to hear you went through that bad episode, but glad your Dad knew just what to do and helped you to feel better now. Continuing purrs from us.
Poor Brian 🙁 But I am so glad that you are doing better now. Dad is a hero, isn’t he?
we are so happy for the good news… and we can not say it enough: you have the best daddy ever…. that’s for sure
I am glad your dad has a magic box for when you need it and hope you are feeling better now. I am glad your blood results are good overall too.
Dear Brian……Mom and I are happy that you are better in the pee department and hope that your blood results will stay “stable” . Your Dad is a good medic – he knows how to take care of you at home so well and keeps you from having the discomfort of the car ride and vet visit! We all hate that! Please feel better and better – the entire universe loves you!
Hugs, Teddy
We are thankful to know things are getting better for you Mr Brian, and very thankful that good Dr Dad is always at the ready …
OH, we are so glad that the pee thing is shaping up and also glad about the blood work. Isn’t all of this just boring as hell? I’ve been doing the same thing except I pee outside my box (on occasion) but your meds should clear things up, no? We are pee…er…praying for your recovery and this is no laughing matter, sorry. Thinking of you, dear kitty and so glad you have your AMAZING dad.
Brian, you certainly had a bad day of it. Actually your photo makes you look so lovely cute, that it’s a shame to think you look that way because you’re drugged. Good thing your dad keeps medicine at home to help fix this problem as quick as it can be done. You stay a stronger Kitty and keep feeling better every day.
We are so glad things are moving in the right direction for you, Brian. Feeling icky isn’t very fun – and neither is visiting the vet! I am so glad you have a vet who’s so involved in your wellbeing.
You are so lucky your dad is prepared. Hope you get off the meds and continue to do well for a long time. Pee issues are no fun!
I’m glad that your results are good. Amazing capture!
Sorry to hear about some pee issues, but good to hear your Dad knows what to do. Sounds like your vet cares about their patients and calls to check on them. Keeping y’all in our prayers and purryers.
I am sorry you had such a tough time. You are lucky to have such a well-prepared dad. And I am glad you are feeling better, and your blood work wasn’t too bad. I will keep you in my prayers. Thanks for hosting. XO
Thank goodness for your dad’s magic medicine box and helping you right away, Brian!
Your dad knows you pretty good. Hugs to you and I hope your feeling better today.
Brian, we’re sending lots of love and purrs to you. We’re glad the test results were mostly good, and we’re glad that your dad called in re: your cystitis, rather than taking you to emerg. Further stress definitely would make things worse! (Derry also has idiopathic cystitis brought on by stress, and gets sick after vet visits–though in his case, it’s usually that he gets nauseous and stops eating.)
Anyway, we’re glad the meds have kicked in and you’re starting to feel better. Hugs and love! ♥
Brian,
I’m sorry to read about your recent flare up. Medical issues are a concern for us all as we age. It’s hard to age gracefully when unexpected things pop up. Sending prayers and hugs to you, little furriend.
My first thankful is that you returned home with dad, the 2nd is that he had the meds you needed, the 3rd is that it worked. the last thankful is the good lab report. Hugs to all of you. I hope you are able to work your way off those meds that STONE you. I am thinking the stress of the ride and the vet visit upset your applecart and that now you will level off again, I say that because stress upsets my apple care all the time. love you Brian
We’re glad your Dad was ready with those meds. We’re also glad your blood work was good and that you can wean off those meds.
Oh Brian, I am so sorry to hear of your pee issues and what a scary day for you and your Dad! We’re sending POTP your way brave and beautiful boy.
Brian, I am sorry to hear what you went through, but very happy with the outcome. I hope you will continue to feel better and avoid that Emergency Vet forever.
Sorry for overachieving with the Blog Hop entries again, I think my problem is that I don’t perceive any reaction after selecting the picture, so I think it hasn’t taken. Hopefully, I will remember this next time.
We’re glad to hear you are feeling better and that your test results are mostly favorable. Our paws are crossed that you continue to feel better.
Oh Brian I am so very thankful for an alert Dad! BLess your heart my friend.
Even we humans have cases of the nerves at our Vets.
Sending lots of hugs for a good remainder of your day and may tomorrow dawn new and w/o any unwanted loo problems
Hugs Cecilia
I wish there was a better way for you to have your tests done, but I’m glad everything turned out okay with the litter box issues. Sending you tons of prayers. You’re such a trooper and you couldn’t have better personal assistants.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday, Brian. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥

Well once again I will say that I am thankful for your mom and dad….they are amazing. So thankful that you are not going to the bathroom as much and feeling some better. I know that dad will take the best care of you like he always does. I have you on my list of little babes to pray about. I have come to love each and everyone sweet babes and only wish you the best of everything. Stay feeling better.
Charlee: “Having to go pee that often isn’t any fun! I had a urinary tract infection once and I was running to the litter box every few minutes.”
Chaplin: “We’re glad you’re feeling better and that you got a good report on the blood they stole!”
So, I take it you won’t be joining us up in the highlands for a war whoop and free for all… Heck, I’m not going, either. Brian, you’re one tough dude, that’s all I have to say, coming out of all that testin’ and pillin’ and violatin’ along with other stuff to hang in and give it your best. I’ve got your back, pal. You were always there for me when I was a newbie on this here blog stuff and I’ll always appreciate that. So, hope you’ll be feeling better and better and you and I can both join… Read more »
Glad you are feeling better friend!
Brian you are blessed to have one SMART and PREPARED Dad. I feel so bad for you and Dad too. Anyone would be traumatized about going to the Vet after what happened, and now another trip and the pee wars started. Ugh. Maybe you need a mobile Vet? (that was a partial joke even though it really isn’t a laughing matter). I am so glad you are feeling better and I hope poor Dad is too! xoxo
Oh Brian, so glad fur the good mews. Sorry fur the flare up, but thanky thankfully, uncle Terry had things at hand to get it under control. I’s gotta tell ya’, Zebby was wringing his little, big paws with worry. He looks up to you so much. We’re sending hugs and purrayers fur all.
Luvs ya’
RaenaBelle and Zebby
Brian I sure hope you are doing better (what a rough week you’ve had!)
Sending a bouquet of love and hugs your way! xoxoxo
Oh, Dear, Poor Brian. e didn’t know you had to endure such an awful flareup. Glad your Dad knew what to do.
Hope you’ll soon be purrfect again.
And we will pawray that your CKD stays stable.
Oh Brian we are so sorry for the flare up, but are happy you are feeling better now.
Just in case we’ll keep purring!
Love ya!

Dear Brian, We are so sorry you went through all that and We are glad you are feeling better now. We are also glad your test results were mostly good and We will continue to purr for you and send you POTP.
Brian we are so thankful your Dad had some medicines at the ready and that you did begin to feel better – and that the other news was pretty good too. One of our cats has had that ideopathic UTI stuff too andour vet said that stress was probably a factor. Luckily our vet is only about three miles away, so he is spared a long car ride. Purrayers and POTP to you that you are better soon !
I love kitty bed head! Sounds like you have a wonderful, caring vet, and I’m so glad you’re feeling better.
Glad Brian had a pretty good outcome but, sorry he had to go through all the stress involved.
Layla woofs that she is thankful for your blog hop every Thursday, the park time she is spending with Mom but most of all we are thankful that you got a good outcome and are not stoned anymore, hugs from us
We are praying you are back to normal soon.
Thankful the meds worked so fast. I’d think after taking them a day or two it wouldn’t be that hard to detox. We’re twins on the stable stage 2 CKD team. Sending more healing purrz in case you still need them.
Brian, I love you SO much precious boy.
Oh, best wishes. My heart still aches over Dolly’s loss and we want you to stick around as long as you can. ~hugs~ Take care, doll.
I’m glad you’re starting to feel better! Your dad takes such good care of you!
Brian, that was quite the adventure you had for that vet visit. We are so glad that your Dad knows how to take care of you, that you are feeling better, and that overall the test results were pretty good. We hope you all have a restful and happy weekend.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
