Note: Before I start, we ran into a new problem trying to comment on blogs today. The message said something like “You’ve created the maximum number of comments for today, try again tomorrow”. If we missed you today, sorry about that. Now on to our post.
Hello gang, thanks for stopping by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always thankful to each of you for joining us! Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!
Today we’re all most thankful for advice and assistance from our pet blogging friends. As just about all of you know, our Kiki recently went into heat and then on Tuesday she had her spay surgery. We’re also most thankful that she did fine with her spay surgery and is recovering well. It is a real challenge to try to keep her from jumping up on things though, she is quick, quick, quick.
Anyways, back to advice from friends. Believe it our not, of all the cats we’ve had, it has been years and years since we had a cat in heat. All of the many kitties we adopted were all fixed up when they came home to live with us. We didn’t know what to expect and it was a pretty wild ride. We’re thankful for all of the advice we got from our fellow bloggers, especially Mark from Mark’s Mews who was kind enough to share his insight with us, his information was most helpful and we appreciate his time as well as the info we received from the rest of you.
Okay, that’s my thankful for today, what are you thankful for? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

It’s good to read that Kiki is doing well; I had to sleep on the couch for a week when Celestial Angel had her spay surgery, just to keep her from jumping around!
Isn’t it great to have a community of friends who care and help each other!
So glad Kiki is doing well after her spa day. Like you, all of our adopted animals were fixed prior to adopting them. All except two of them; one being a cat. After 2 litters of kittens being born under our house; we carefully befriended a feral cat and when she was pregnant for the 3rd time, we had managed to gain her trust enough that she actually came into our utility room & gave birth there. She never minded when I touched her new babies & gave her gentle lovins & encouragement while she was giving birth. Step forward… Read more »
Glad Kiki is doing well and hopefully won’t have any problems with her recovery.
I never heard of a limit to comments. We never had a cat in heat either. When I was about 13 years old my dad brought home a doberman who was found by his friend as a stray. She went into heat and escaped one day. A few months later she had puppies. You can bet she was fixed after that.
I’m so glad Kiki did well. Madi was our only female pet. Thankfully 3 months old when we adopted her and she was spayed before ever going into heat. I still giggle when I remember picking her up after her spay day. The vet said no ‘jumping’…
I paused a minute and finally said you know she is a cat right?
I had several days over the last few weeks with crazy messages and problems with blogger. Crazy I am not techie so thankfully they solved themselves. I hate it when blogger makes improvements were not necessary
Hugs Cecilia
Me alegro Kiki este mejor. Y siempre es bueno contar con los consejos de amigos. A mi tambien me sale salir eso cuando comento en los blogs. Esperó unos 10 minutos y a veces me deja comentar normal. Te mando un beso.
Phew! I hate it when they go to the vet for surgery. I don’t know why they can’t make it easier. Less invasive. Like laser or something. That must’ve been tough to live through but it’s all over now.
I’m glad Kiki did well with her surgery! There has been lots of trouble with blogger lately. I’m not getting notices and others report that too. Yesterday I couldn’t make a comment on one blog, then suddenly after about an hour, I could.
So glad to hear Kiki is doing well after being spayed. This is such a caring and amazing community, isn’t it? We are so glad Mark was able to help you out with that advice!
Glad your reasonable pet owner. We also get our pet spay or neuter.
Coffee is on and stay safe
GOOD that kiki is recovering so well.
Awwww sweet Kiki ! Glad she is doing well- what a sweetheart! Cheers!
we send lots of pawsitive thoughts and we hope it helas up purrfect and fast… thanks to all the good friends who can help if we have a question…yay for blogville…
I’m glad that Kiki is recovering and looking forward to a much better life than she would have otherwise had!
At least that is one less problem to worry about now…and we are glad it all went well.
Blogger is so unpredictable lately…mostly throwing my comments to the spam folder, and the same happens to some who try to leave comments on mine. the comment maximum is a new one…sheesh!
I am glad Kiki is doing well.
Blogger has been a pain lately putting mine and other people’s comments into spam. Yours is one of them but I make sure to check every day to get them published.
Now Norton has decided to jump on the bandwagon. Three weeks ago it told me Lunapic was malicious and I couldn’t use it. Last week it told me my own site and a couple of others were malicious. They did change my rating when I disputed it but not on the other blogs. It is always something!
Sending Kiki healing hugs…..No doubt she will be QUIETER now that she’s had her spa day! We’ve heard Blogger has some issues and hope that they are resolved or everyone finds a way around them soon. So many of our friends are on Blogger. Anyway, thank you for hosting THANKFULS – we love focusing on the positives.
Hugs, Teddy
We are so happy to hear that you are recovering well, Kiki.
Mom had one cat who went into heat and it was a nightmare! So happy the sweet little one did so well with her spay and is on the recovery path.
Hurrah for Kiki! All that worry behind her and on to calm indoor life with out strife fur the boys and girl
let alone mom and dad. So glad to hear she got through it all Okay.
We’re so glad that Kiki is doing well, and the hive mind helped!
The Blogosphere is so weird. On our list, our blog shows you as not having posted anything in more than a year!
Purrs,
The Chans
We are so happy Kiki is doing well. Chimera is the only one who ripped her stitches out and had to be re stitched. But she had a longer than usual incision as she also had a hernia repair.
We’re certainly glad Kiki is well on her way to recovery and that none of you, including her, ever will have to go through that again!
OH that is great news that Kiki is doing so well. When I first got Admiral, she was 6 ionths old and her previous pwner did not get her spayed. So we all had to hear her go into heat and finally I got her to the vet. WHEW! Good thing humans don’t do that stuff…that would be something for sure!
Sorry if you had trouble on my blog, hopefully it will be fine tomorrow. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO
We’re glad Kiki is doing well. It’s been ages since Mom had a kitty that went into heat too.
Blogging comments are weird these days. Yours very often go into our Spam (along with Miss Ellen, Lone Star Cats and a couple others) and we have no idea why.
when I get a weird message from blogger, i go out and try again. sometimes that works and sometimes not and am now thankful I have not received that max comment thingy. YET! Blogger has been hiccupping since I started in 2009, but now wonder if it was blogger or wordpress or even google. we may never know. good luck with the no jumping
I’m so happy Kiki is doing well. I’m also thankful that Mark was so helpful. We’ve been lucky not to have a kitten go into heat. I hear it’s quite the ride.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥
Glad Kiki’s spay went well and that she heals quickly.
We’re glad to hear Kiki is doing well after her surgery. We will keep our paws crossed that she heals quickly.
I’m glad Kiki’s surgery went well. I am amazed at how much helpful advice I have gotten from our friends on The Cat Blogosphere, it is just a treasure trove of knowledge, something I am thankful for on a regular basis.
max number of comments! how ridiculous!!! tech isn’t working with us lately.
you can’t make them, I can’t receive them or make them

Glad Kiki is well. Alls well that ends well.
Happy weekend ahead.
Great to hear Kiki is doing well. She will be a happier cat now that she has had her surgery.
Glad Kiki is okay. I’m grateful for friends like you!
I think the interwebs have gone nutso…especially Google products. Luckily, interwebs friends are the best and can always be counted on to lend a helping hand!
xoxo,
Rosy
We just had the strangest experience…when we tried to enter our picture in your linky, it did not “do” what it usually does, the circle just kept turning, so we kept clicking and now we see that there are 8 entries! Sorry about that! Strange things on the interwebs…maybe it is that giant plazma shot that the sun spewed out on Monday! Wow! Poor Kiki (and poor peeps)! Mom had a real “experience” with Queen Nellie when she went into heat! She really empathizes with your Peeps! We always get terrific advice from the blogosphere too! Life with us cats… Read more »
Advice from friends you trust is invaluable!
Good news! Be well, my dears.
We only get by with a little help from our friends.
Luckily we’ve never had a cat in heat although there were a few kittens.
Can’t help you with the commenting thing either. Bloggers have been complaining on FB about some WP blogs they can’t comment on and your blog was one of them although I see plenty of comments here.
glad that kiki is doing well, wishing her a speedy recovery
wishing you a lovely weekend
We’re glad that Kiki is recovering well, and hope she has a supurr speedy recovery. And we can imagine it’s quite difficult to stop her from jumping around. Posie and Snowie arrived at BBHQ just after their spay surgery, and the P.A. remembers confining them to one bedroom while they healed.
We are so happy to hear Kiki is on the road to recovery from her spay, you are really blessed to have so many friends that helped you with advice, those are true friends.
Thanks for the blog hop
I’ve never had a cat in heat either.
Yep, blogging friends are the best! A kennel is the only way to keep any of us from jumping, and then you will have to listen to her meowing, BOL. We say, good luck! *tail wags* Lucy and Xena
well, I’m pretty useless! I’ve only had male cats! (and dogs too for that matter!)
