Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always thankful to each of you for joining us! Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!
Today we’re thankful that we’re prepared for emergencies. I seem to post that I’m thankful for this every year, but hey, every year it still holds true. This year is no different, especially with Hurricane Ian lurking about down in Florida. Some of you asked if we were affected by hurricanes. The short answer is yes. Although we’re mostly not affected by them directly, when they come inland sometimes they come right in our direction, like Ian is supposed to do.
So, we’re thankful that the Dad, who spent many years planning for emergency situations, has us prepared for most things that might happen. It can be pretty annoying sometimes but we are glad he takes it seriously. This weekend our carriers will be staged in our secure space in case the weather gets really bad or if any tornadoes pop up. Dad will be monitoring things pretty much 24/7 until it is safe once again.
I do want to pass on all our purrs and prayers for all our blogging friends in Florida along with those in our Dad’s family who live in Florida. What are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

We have friends in Florida who are currently getting blasted by the storm; praying for them and their cats to be okay!
And for all others whose lives will be disrupted by this storm; wishing you all the best.
Thank you to the emergency folks who will rush in.
Your Dad is very wise.
I hope you are safe and sound this week. I am watching the storm on TV, and even though I have experienced hurricanes in New England, I never want to see one like Ian. When we burned wood in the winter, and there was a chance of a chimney fire, we always kept pillow cases stashed around the house to put cats into to toss them into the car. Sorry for that image, but in fire you have to be quick. If you have an emergency, I hope you have time to care for them properly. My worry is that… Read more »
Good thing your Dad is so well prepared as it does look like Ian is headed your way. They did say it’s down to a Cat3 now. Hopefully it continues to weaken. Many hopes and purrs from us for everyone in the path.
Hurray for humans who prepare! You all are so precious.
It is always good to be prepared, Brian, and we are glad you’re Dad is so good at making sure you are all ready. We’re definitely purring and praying for everyone in Florida. It’s such scary stuff.
sioempre hay que agradecer. Te mando un beso.
Isn’t it awesome that your Dad is so well prepared!
You are blessed to have a Dad who is so prepared. We are thankful that we had a very mild wildfire season this summer. Seems like every part of the country has its own extreme weather events to deal with … Stay safe!
your dad is he best… and we really have to be prepared… we all…
My thoughts are with everybody in the path of the hurricane, and those already affected by it.
Brian, I hope the worst that happens at your house is just lots of rain but no wind. First the hurricane that hit Canada and now this one. It’s very difficult for our friends everywhere. And we are thankful when they all come through without harm.
We are thankful we don’t live in Florida, or anywhere with hurricanes but it is good you are prepared just in case.
We’re glad you’re well prepared, Brian, your dad is very smart to be! Purrs from us too for all those impacted by Ian. Stay safe. ♥
We’re very glad your family is purrrrpared for emergencies. We also have prayers coming to all in the path of the dangerous storm. We know lots of people who have evacuated and hope to come back to their homes after it’s safe to do so. So thankful for emergency personnel saving so many people and animals…….STAY SAFE and hugs to everyone.
Love, Teddy
I am glad your Dad is super prepared. I am praying for all in the path of Ian. Thank you for hosting. XO
I agree Brian, it is always good to be prepared in advance!!!!!
You never know when you may need to leave home for a while in a hurry.
Purrs, Julie
Brian, you are causing me to think in that way too, Thank you,
I’m thankful for the wonderful adventures we had in Maine the last two weeks but am equally thankful to be home. We’ll more than likely get rain from Ian but nothing compared to you guys or Floridians. I marvel how quickly the weather has changed since coming home. I think we brought the cooler air back with us. I guess I’m thankful for that, too.
Being prepared is a good thing. I know your dad has everything under control. We have friends in Florida too and they are all in our prayers.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a safe Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your wonderful peeps. ♥
We have our paws crossed for our Florida friends and we hope Ian doesn’t bother you too much either.
The black heart as usual but my picture did not come through and when I tried to do it the second time it said that I was already in the blog hop but I don’t see my picture!
Black heart should have been BLOG HOP!!! I joined as usual but it would not accept my attempt to correct the photo I entered. I often cannot trim my photo…the trimmer does not move..
I’m glad your Dad is prepared, too. With Ian heading to the Atlantic coast and then inland, I’m praying that he weakens A LOT before he gets up here in Greenville County! I’m concerned about friends in the Charleston area, but I’m sure they will be ok. I’m thankful that my brother’s home in the Florida Keys was left untouched except for a great deal of rain, thunder and lightning. (He’s not in Key West.)
2nd time in a year or two NC mountains are threatened by a hurricane.
So many thoughts and prayers to all. We will never forget Fran 1996 she came right up to Raleigh which is 150 away from the Atlantic
Hugs Cecilia
Charlee: “The stuff we’ve been seeing out of Florida after Ian hit is something else.”
Chaplin: “Yeah, some of Dada’s friends down there still haven’t checked in as safe after the storm. We sure hope they are doing okay.”
Charlee: “And we hope Ian decides not to come your way! But at least your bed is up on stilts, so you’ll be out of the water if it does.”
Your dad is great, nice photo <3
Your Dad is a very smart man! Hugs to everyone !
it’s a big storm and I’m glad you’re prepared. Always taking care of business and those you love…. what a good family. Be safe
Your dad is very smart to be prepared, Brian. We have friends in Ft.Myers and haven’t heard from them yet but we did see pics on FB of Cape Coral and it is VERY sad. We pray all of our friends made out okay.
we have family in Florida (thankfully on the opposite coast) who didn’t experience anything but a lot of rain. I feel extra bad for Robin and David Mudge from Purrfect Kitty, they are in Punta Gorda which pretty much almost got it worse than anyone! Last I heard though, they are safe thank goodness! Hoping our other Florida friends are safe too and am hoping Ian calms down by the time he gets to your neck of the woods!!
Your Dad takes such good care of you! It is always great to be prepared, but we hope you never need it! We pray for everyone’s safety who are in the track of this nasty storm. ♥
I heard that this hurricane/ storm is the 3rd worst in recent history. I’m glad your dad is prepared and you’ll all be safe if it heads your way.
We are so glad you all are ready for anything!
We are sending prayers and POTP to all our friends in Florida…
xoxo,
Rosy
We are glad that your dad is wise and proactive, and we sure hope and pray it will not be too terrible when Ian comes your way,. We are keeping all affected in our prayers.
We are purraying for all those affected by Ian, including those that get him after he is no longer a hurricane! Tropical storms and the other storms they spawn are so damaging. We hope you guys are all OK! Purrs Marv
What a beautifully written and heartfelt post. Exclamation And such excellent spelling. Usually cats are not such great spellers. I’m so glad we found each other.Purrrrr
We saw Ian was headed smack-dab for SC, stay safe everyone!
I’m very glad you’re prepared.
Just checking in to see if you are all OK. This windy stuff is reaching South Carolina. Be careful and safe all of you including the ferals.

Praying for your safety and the safety of all of our Florida and East Coast friends!
Glad your dad is super prepared!
It’s always best to be prepared, but I hope that horrific Ian bypasses you completely!
We are a bit south of you and hoping Ian is just a bad storm when it gets here. We have been lucky in the past and just had heavy rain and wind.
Very happy you all are prepared for Ian just in case! We had just enough PTUs for the seven of us and then Mom won one that is big enough for Audrey and Raleigh together, and it arrived today. The storm is supposed to arrive tomorrow evening and stall out over us, but we’ll be okay! Sawyer is thankful for almost six weeks without a seizure. Thanks for hosting. You always need to be prepared for emergencies, Brian. I’m purring for everyone in Florida too. The devastation is terrible. ~Ernie
You dad is wise. Lives are saved by being prepared.
Purraying for all of you, those storms are so scary🙏Double Safe Pawkisses for you all🐾😽💞
Sounds like your dad has everything set just in case. Always good to be prepared!
Thank you for the blog hop. I am thankful today that all my friends in Florida are safe and healthy as it has been a worrying week this week. Be safe everyone
We are praying for all communities affected by Hurricane Ian, it’s devasting to see the carnage. And we hope all the stray anipals have managed to stay safe too! 🙏
Living in an area prone to tornados, we understand the importance of being prepared. We’re actually looking at generators to help in case our power goes out or the grid goes down. We have those dried, prepackaged food packets in a real emergency and hope we never have to use them. Very thankful this one missed you. X
Like my feline furs, you are spoiled….and thats not a bad thing.
