Today is Christmas Tree Day and I’m most thankful for our Magical Christmas Tree. As most of you know, I was born on a Christmas Tree Farm up in the mountains not too far from here. So, it’s no wonder I’ve always been happy to see our Christmas Tree come out. We’ve had several different Christmas Trees since I’ve been here and each one is really special. The lights sometimes twinkle, sometimes not, but they are captivating. So our the Christmas Tree decorations, some of which belongs to the Great Grandparents of our Dad.
This was Kiki’s first Christmas with us and she really likes the Christmas Tree, so much so she climbed it several times. I think that’s when her name got changed to No No Kiki. We also have a different but magical tree skirt this year, it is aluminum foil which is supposed to keep us kitties away from the base of the Christmas Tree. The foil is magical and nobody has climbed the tree since it has been there. We can still lay under it but the climbing access is not really there.
Speaking of magical, this year we get to pass along the Christmas Tree traditions to a new generation of kitties, and I’m thankful for that too. This is Maxwell and Macy’s first Christmas and here is a photo of little Macy enjoying the magic…
Macy, so far, has been really kind to the Tree. So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Christmas trees are magical, i do enjoy them at other people’s homes. We don’t try with our cats, but it’s okay we celebrate other ways.
I’m glad to hear the foil seems to be working, i’ll tell that to friends who do put up trees with cats in the house.
I’m glad you can enjoy the tree without climbing it, Brian. That usually doesn’t work out too well. Nice picture of you, and little Macy does look cute next tho the tree!
… next to the tree!
Here’s hoping the aluminum foil continues to work, and it’s festive looking too.
We do remember how you were born on a Christmas tree farm, Brian. Of course you get happy to see the tree come out each year at your place! Paws crossed that the alumnium foil keeps on working. 🙂
Good that your Dad found a way to prevent(hopefully) the cats from climbing the tree.
Accidents would not be fun! They would be messy though 😉
Maybe the young ones will be happy to just lay under the branches 🙂
Paws crossed!
Purrs, Julie
NO NO Kiki…LOL..I don’t blame her as X’mas trees always look very beautiful and tempting.
how sweet… every tree needs a kitty ;O)
Kiki No No is a cute name…here’s hoping it works! Glad that the little ones are behaving with the tree…..I’m taking some quality naps under our tree even though presents get in the way – I just push them a little to make a spot for ME. Thanks for hosting the hop Brian……………
Hugs, Teddy
Glad you are all enjoying the Christmas tree. That is a good tip about the foil.
Aw, Macy is enjoying that tree, lets hope she continues to enjoy it from below, not up in the branches! MOL
How nice that today is Christmas Tree Day as #1 is planning to get ours today! Our supermarket works with a local tree farm to source its trees, so we’ll get one of those. We are wondering how Momo will deal with it. Thanks for the foil idea. That sounds handy!!!
Could you please let us know what your favourite mouse game is? #1 would like to download something on our tablet. Thanks!
Purrs,
The Chans
An aluminum foil tree skirt sounds like it reflects the Christmas lights and would be very pretty as well as helpful. Be very good kitties. Remember that Santa is watching!
Brian you have so much to share with us this morning. So that makes us thankful to see all of your news in print. Interesting about the aluminum tree skirt. In your new header is so Christmassy we like that.
We love trees too. Derry doesn’t pay any attention to it now, just a look and a “whatever.” LOL. The biped has used that magical tin foil in past years, though! 😀
Oops on the climbing. Kiki is more adventurous than I thought she would be. Foil is a great way of breaking them. I have such a tight tree that my feline furs have not tried. Misty however, does like getting under it and slapping at the Christmas balls.
We are so happy the new little ones get some tree time too. The skirt at out house isn’t the usual one either because of Nelson. We have a sheet under it. Foil is a great idea, but he might eat that. Enjoy your tree and the special ornaments.
Hi Brian! With your beginnings, we imagine you DO feel very comfortable around Christmas trees, with them bringing good memories (but not as good as the ones you’ve been making since you were adopted!) We’re happy No No Kiki loves to explore the tree, and that little Macy gets to enjoy her first Christmas with y’all. XOX Xena, Lucy, Chia and Riley
Other than occasionally trying to munch on branches (it’s fake) we don’t bother the tree.
That is a sweet photo of Macy. Thank you for hosting. Have a great day. XO
What a lovely kitten.
God bless.
Brian this is 100% a magical Christmas Tree post…..being born in the mountains is also magical. Each time I visit our mountains I leave an itty bitty piece of my heart up there.
Macy I hope and purr No No Kiki does not teach you any of her climbing skills
Hugs Cecilia
Nothing like the first Christmas in your new home. You made me smile.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your wonderful peeps. ♥
No No Kiki – MOL! I think you would fit right in with our kitties Kiki! We gave up on Christmas trees, but didn’t know about the foil trick – we may have to start that tradition back up again. Thanks for the tip!
We love our Christmas tree too, but it’s up on a table where we can’t reach it.
I remember Brian’s story. It brought tears to my eyes for some reason years ago when I read it. But it was so happy when he was chosen, how could anyone have leaky eyes for goodness sake?
I see you look so cute sitting under that tree and I’m wondering if deep in that brain of yours if you’re thinking if I leave straight up in the air I can bypass the aluminum foil and get right up in the middle of that tree. Hope I didn’t put any ideas in your head!
We always like to hear your story, Brian, it always sounds new to us🙈😺Oh, Kiki, you sound like a good kitty, so is the little Macy. Granny and Grandpaw don’t have a tree this year, after eating her plants, they won’t take the risk as we don’t react on the no-no’s most of the time..MOL…Double Pawkisses from us to all of you🐾😽💞
Charlee: “Hmm, so foil keeps kitties away? Maybe I need to wrap myself in foil when I’m on top of the fireplace so that Chaplin doesn’t come and bother me …”
I grew up with an aluminum tree, with a little spinning light filter to turn it colors!
I so enjoy our visits! That’s one of the things I’m grateful for. What a wonderful realm of cats and Christmas tree to visit this day. I’m wishing you all a magical season of joy and catnip.
We agree, there is nothing like the magic of a Christmas Tree!!!
xoxo,
Sunny
I’m glad you’re enjoying your Christmas tree. I know it’s very special to you. Great idea about the foil tree skirt. We couldn’t have a tree last year because the kitties were biting pieces off of it. I never thought to try a magical foil tree skirt.
The tin foil is a good idea. I have a 5 ft tree that sits on a table so the dog can’t get it since he would probably chew on it. lol
I am like Kiki and the kitties ~ The Xmas Tree is my favorite along with the candle lights in the window ~ Sweet photos and glad no is climbing the tree ~ Xo
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

No tempting tree for the cats here. I’m not much for decorating except for something on the door, which is usually done on Thanksgiving day, but I still haven’t done it. Maybe tomorrow?
I can’t even imagine how much fun it must be to have THREE new babies in the house for Christmas!
I put mine up yesterday and thought I’d wake up to a mess but thankfully my boy Jethro behaved himself haha. Let’s hope it lasts this evening! Macy looks soooooo very cute <3 And love Kiki's new name 😉
I have a toddler/cat safe tree. Basically it only has the top third covered in branches. Kinda looked weird at first when we got it a few years ago but getting used to it. I'll get a picture of it posted on the photo blog soon.
I bet your tree is beautiful
Our big tree is up now and today the mom finally got around to decorating it. I used to like climbing in the tree but I haven’t done that in years. But I did knock some ornaments off today. I still got it! ~Ernie
Lindo arbol , y simpatico gatito. Te mando un beso.
Don’t be like me, who began chewing the baby Jesus.
I love watching everyone put up their Christmas trees, it is magical and although I do not celebrate Christmas I am like a kid when I see them. Layla and I celebrate Hanukkah. Thank you for your Thursday blog hop as always
Mew have such pawesome tree-manners, we at BBHQ have been known to topple ours in previous years with Basil being the main culprit! The P.A. won’t put the tree up at BBHQ for another week yet, she can’t be doing with all the drama! 😂
I didn’t know that there was a Christmas Tree Day! Learned something new.
You all make me smile. Blessings to your entire family, my dears.
What a great idea for the foil. Well maybe not so great from a kitties POV. Christmas trees are magical even tho our’s this year isn’t real for the first time and the peeps are still sneezing. MOL!
