Hello everyone, thanks to you all for stopping by for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am always thankful to each of you for joining us! Each and every Thursday we share the things for which we are most thankful and we always enjoy reading all of the things you are thankful for too. If you are new to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, thanks for hopping in, we really do get excited when new blogger pals join us!
Today it’s time for my annual thankful to be prepared. Yes, it’s that time again and it happens every year about this time. Hurricane Season started in June and we’re always thankful that our Dad keeps us prepared for whatever might come our way. Our Dad spent most of his working life preparing for emergencies so that really comes in handy for us.
No, we’re not on the coast, we are inland, but we do get affected by hurricanes. Usually when that happens a hurricane will come up through the Gulf and and sometimes if heads right over us as it’s winding down. Sometimes it comes straight in from the East Coast too. Either way we need to be prepared. The Dad will be watching and will have our carriers ready for us to go in and head to our safe room. No matter where you live it’s always good to have a plan for emergencies and prepare for them. We’ll have to see how our latest newbies Maxwell and Macy do with the practice sessions but I’m sure they will learn. We’re most thankful that our Dad always has us prepared.
So, what are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and then join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

You’re Dad is very smart to have a safe room, enough carriers, and a good plan. We have a generator, water, are stocking up on canned food for the people and already have plenty for the pets, carriers and other stuff. It’s not easy but it is worth it.
Your dad is awesome, and we are so grateful that he keeps you all ready in case of emergencies. XO
Siempre hay que prevenir. Les deseo que se cuiden mucho. Les mando un beso.
Your dad is really awesome! I can’t wait to see how Macy and Maxwell react to the hurricane season.
So good to stay prepared! We get the Gulf hurricanes but they’re usually tropical storms when we get them because we are so far inland. But they still pack a wallop.
Your dad is very organised to be prepared and to keep your practice sessions up to date.
we hope the evil stormy weather will cause no damage… fortunately your dad is such a super dad and he is well prepared …
Hope you don’t have to use your escape plan for a hurricane but BE PURRPARED is the watch word during hurricane season. Thanks for hosting Thankfuls!!
Hugs, Teddy
That’s excellent that your dad has the preparation thing down. My mom and dad had solid plans when they lived in Wilmington, but out here such plans will (hopefully) never be needed. Hope Maxwell and Macy catch on quickly!
Dear Brian, your dad is very smart about this. It’s just such a shame that storms can be that severe. I’m grateful I don’t live with that kind of weather even though winter up here just is yucky
That is great that you are ready just in case. I’m sure the new kittens will learn and follow the lead of you kitties who know how it all goes.
Mario used to tell Admiral what she should have done in case of a hurricane emergency. Just like you, Brian, we get the winding down effects. Only a few were severe but they made mom get the PTU out and put a couple of things in the basement.
Glad your dad is so prepared to keep you all safe. Thank you for hosting. Have a wonderful day. XO
Mom needs to get more batteries and take the time to go through our hurry-cane box.
that is a lot to be thankful for, not every cat has a dad that is that prepared. you can help teach Maxwell and Macy how to practice, be sure to make if fun. Yesterday we went to the garden shop at Home Depot and there on top of the cash register was a beautiful tuxedo cat, a HUGE cat and his name is Oreo. He is the garden shop mouser. Isn’t that sweet?
Yup b prepared 😸😺
Being prepared is a good thing. We do the same here. Your dad is most smart for knowing what to do. Most don’t.
Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties and my best to the peeps. ♥
Great Dad and Mom you have, being prepared ~ smart and caring parents ~ grateful you have them ~ Xo
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your day,

It’s good to have a practiced plan in place before an emergency arrives. We know your mom and dad will keep you all safe.
Looking good today Brian! We’re very impressed with your preparations and practices every year. We need to get our plan updated too, thanks for the reminder.
be prepared is smart… we had a gully washer of a storm last night in the Denver area. Flooding, LOUD thunder and lightning and wind and flooding was real. Woke us up several times til about 3AM. Nature is strong don’t forget it said
LeeAnna and Milo
Charlee: “It’s good to be prepared! Like the time we all ran away from the Lilac Fire, back when Dennis was still with us. We had food and litter and toys and a scratching post and everything.”
Chaplin: “Of course, Dada forgot to bring shirts, but at least we animals were all set …”
Of late these crazy hurry-canes have developed evil twins going every which way.
I hope the rain up your way isn’t too bad.
Our friends live about 1 hour from Boone, NC. Since Monday they have had 7″ of rain
Hugs cecilia
hoping those nasty hurricanes leave you all alone!!!
What a wonderful daddy to keep you safe and aware of dangers from those very whimsical hurricanes. Mama used to live in Texas and she went through a few in her childhood, water in the house, floor buckling….crawdads swimming in the front yard…wild.
Be prepared is #1 – without that we all would be lost.
We hope this year is safe for all of you but it’s very good to be prepared!
We agree, it is always good to be prepared!!!
xoxo,
Rosy and Sunny
I am thankful that for the most part, the weather here hasn’t been much of a problem. The times we have been warned about possible hurricanes or ice storms, they either didn’t happen or weren’t as bad as expected.
It is good to be prepared just in case.
Thanks for the advice, Brian. Everyone should be purrpared for bad weather.
Hope the hurricanes stay far away…from everyone!
I have never lived on Island.
Coffee is on, and stay safe.
It’s always good to be a man with a plan or a cat with a man with a plan.
Your dad takes such good care of you all and is always prepared!
Your Dad is a very wise man, Brian. So it’s good to follow his lead. I hope the kittens don’t get too jumpy because they don’t know what’s happening. Wishing you all clear sailing through this daunting time of year. But don’t go sailing — that’s just an expression..
Hey Brian, was your Dad a boy scout too? “Be prepared!” (We had to make one trip downstairs last December when a rogue tornado headed our way, but it passed us by.)
You are very smart to be prepared, it is a must in our house for earthquakes as I always say I can eat bread and water but Layla needs to eat proper. Thanks for your Thankful Thursday Blog Hop as always and please be safe
Dude, we hope that mew are in the Goldilocks zone, and all dangerous/hazardous weather misses mew completely! But what an epically epic dad mew have, mew can’t beat being purrpared for all eventualities. And speaking of weather, apparently, BBHQ may possibly get golf ball sized hail this afternoon as a rather feisty and most unpleasant storm front moves up our side of the country. We’ve only seen hail like that in Australia, so we’re not looking forward to the possibility of it at all.
Hope the weather changed again, Brian🙏 Good to have a Dad like yours😺Double Pawkisses from us for all of you🐾😽💞
~hugs~
