Hello everyone, I hope all y’all are doing okay today and I hope the nasty storms and flooding waters are leaving you alone and not causing any damage.  The heat has been brutal here and from what I hear it’s going to get worse this week.

Let me tell ya, we had one heck of a storm Saturday evening.  Usually those big old boomers don’t bother me but even I was alert and nervous.  Oh, for those of you who were wondering, yes, Simon was in hiding.  Anyways, the boomers and lightning was something and the wind was blowing so dang hard.

Usually before a bad storm the Dad goes out and rolls down the deck umbrellas so they don’t blow over and damage something.  They will topple over if the wind isn’t playing nice even though they are in heavy iron umbrella holders.  This storm came up so quick that there just wasn’t any time for that.  We couldn’t believe that as hard as the wind was blowing both deck umbrellas managed to stay upright.

Okay, that was our exciting weekend.  Y’all take care and always remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

That sounds like a bad storm. Bailie is always scared of boomers. It seems like they always happen at night when we want to sleep. Glad there was no umbrella damage.

Brian, so good the umbrellas stayed up this time. No serious storm noise up here. We could use a bit of rain by now, hard to believe. Hope the ferals did not get too wet out there.

That sounds like it was scary, Brian. I don’t like storms, so I would have been in hiding along with Simon. I’m impressed your deck umbrellas made it through upright and intact! We had a tornado watch in our area last week and two tornadoes did touch down in the Ottawa, Ontario area, a couple of hours east of us. What used to be a more westerly problem (tornado alley in southwestern Ontario plus the Prairies) seems to be moving eastward, as we have more frequent tornado watches now, over the past few summers. Scary. I hope your week is… Read more »

Simon was smart to hide! Those serious storms are really a menace, we don’t like them here either. You look handsome today, Brian!

Sorry to hear you had such a loud and stormy weekend, but it’s good to hear your umbrellas survived.

we know all about boomers like you describe and have not had one for a long time now. we also are in the brutal heat which might cause a storm like yours. they are frighting to me and Beau also.. glad the umbrellas survived. we are also under sahara desert sand storm alerts, the past two days told to stay in unles we must go out, all the way from Africa is messing with our allergies. I spent yesterday sneezing, it wrecks people with allergies

I don’t like the boomers either. It’s good to make sure everything is secure though. I know how that works.

I feel for you kitties that hate thunderstorms. We had lots of rain yesterday and it was soooooooo humid and mom keep waiting for the noise to start but, thankfully, it never did.

Brian,

It’s been pretty warm and humid here, too. The weather guessers say we may be get rain beginning mid-week and hanging around for several days. I’m ready for fall! At least you and your furblings can stay cool indoors. Have a boogietastic week, my furriend!

Good to hear the stormy weather didn’t do any damage. We had rain and thunder but no wild winds. Jack and Sophie weren’t too upset so didn’t stay under the bed for long. When they heard the treat box being shaken they hurried to the kitchen.😺

Ugh…The storms this time of year always seem to come out of nowhere, don’t they? We hope they stay away from you this week!

That storm Saturday night barely touched us here – we got some heavy rain (maybe 10 minutes worth), 2 or 3 claps of loud thunder, and no visible lightning at all. And very little wind.

Glad you all and your deck umbrellas “weathered” the storm well!!

That was an unexpected test of the umbrellas! Glad they survived, and sorry the storm scared you. We always use that as an excuse for us ALL sleeping with Mom and Dad (except Riley who can’t get in the big bed anymore.)

Well, you and your family are all Steel Magnolias. Even deck umbrellas can’t compare. I wish for you all that the wet boomies lose their thunder.

Bad storms like that are scary for sure!
Once our first cat, Groucho knocked the mantle clock down aftter he had been hiding behind the china cabinet…he knocked it down on his way out after the severe thunderstorm that passed over our den.

I am praying we all get a break in the heat and storms. As for those umbrellas, i’m glad they didn’t get knocked over or broken. Sometimes the wind just doesn’t blow in the exact right way to catch them, what a blessing when that happens.
