Hello everyone, I hope all y’all are doing okay today, we’re all pretty happy that purrhaps the worst of the firework nights are behind us for a while. Maxwell and Macy had their first real experience with those boomers and we quickly learned that they’re aren’t fans at all. Actually none of us here are fans of those firework things.
Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of booms going on. The fireworks here started on Friday, June 30th, and there will still some boomers going on last night. The evening of July 4th was pretty noisy since our homeowners association set off fireworks over the lake across the street from us. But, even though we’ve had the boomers every night, they weren’t as bad as they have been in past years. We could hear them but they weren’t all that close to us.
We have still had our share of booms from thunderstorms though, but that’s to be expected this time of year. We don’t really like those either MOL! Okay, that’s it for me today, always remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

We only got fireworks at new year, that is ength for me
The fireworks here weren’t bad either except the only ones we DID hear were two doors away from us and went on for a couple of hours. In the past we’ve heard fireworks all around us for hours and hours. This was at least “manageable” !!
Hugs, Teddy
Hi Brian!
Giovanni had his first fireworks season, too. I was surprised that they didn’t phase him one little bit. One night they were going off, and he was happily play with his ball! We have fireworks all summer long near us as they set them off downtown after all the Rockies baseball games.
Glad it’s calming down for you all there!
Brian, the good news is is all of you indoor kitties survive for worst of the fireworks. I hope the outside kitties all managed to recover and come back home for their food.
Awesome that you all survived 🙂 No one is a fan of fireworks in our house either.
Lucky for you guys ours went on though Saturday night and we also had a bad thunderstorm. It was not a good week for getting sleep and Bailie has been a nervous wreck. Last night was the first quiet night in ten days.
Hopefully, all of the firework noises are behind us for awhile. We don’t like them here at all!
I wish only something done by the town or city or even, as with you, the HOA would be allowed. And enforced.
Plenty of fireworks and thunder here. Luckily we don’t seem to mind either one too much although we do come inside.
I’m glad everyone managed to get through the fireworks, Brian. I could hear our city’s fireworks on Canada Day night, which was fine (some distance off), but some idiot was setting them off nearby, I could see the plumes of smoke. We don’t often have fireworks, though–at least that’s good!
I’m glad boomer season is just about over too, Brian.
I’m so sorry you had some bad boomers of BOTH kinds! We were so lucky this year. It wasn’t bad at all. Roary and Levi don’t mind them either which we are super happy about. I think all of our annoying people who set them off for weeks last year, moved out. YAY!!
this was our worst 4th in years, nuff said. so happy for all of you it was not as bad as you expected and that you have made it through without to much fear.. you look happy and laid back to me…
All is quiet until Labor Day, right? Excluding natures big thunderstorm booms this time of year. We’re sure getting plenty of that. I’m ready for things to dry out. Have an awwesome Monday, furriend!
We hope this year’s fireworks are done for all of you. Now all you have to worry about are the thunder storms.
We had very little boomers this year. We were surprised. I know you precious kitties hate the boomers. You’re all so precious.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥
This is a noisy time of year. XO
It is nice to have lots of siblings and staff to comfort you all during the boomers of all kinds.
Hugs Cecilia
Charlee: “Humans! Always blowing things up when they don’t need to!”
Glad the fireworks weren’t as bad as usual there, Brian! Ours were mostly distant, but intense for awhile on the 4th. Indoor kitties weren’t bothered much. But hubs went out with canned treats to comfort ferals and only one of two came out of the shelter. They were both there the next day though.
Say safe during this storm season!
Our fireworks got ‘fogged’ out ~ noise was loud ~ but Ziggy did well ~ Grateful that the worst is over with fireworks ~ until Labor Day ~ sigh
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Fireworks are annoying. Here in the UK they seem to have fireworks for everything these days. Before it was just on 5th November (Guy Fawkes’ Night) and New Year’s Eve. Scaring animals is not OK.
We don’t understand why folks feel the need to blow those fireworks off, but they probably don’t understand why I’ve planted milkweed and buttonbush to attract bugs!!!
We have a wonderful crop of fireflies each night; I love to watch them blink.
There were few boomers here this year. I watched them from my balcony while Jack and Sophie did a run and hide not coming out until all was quiet again.
They seem to be over here too…thank goodness!!!
Here’s to a quiet rest of the Summer!
xoxo,
Rosy and Sunny
I’m glad you all got through the booms ok ours is on the 5th November Guy Fawkes Night 🙂
Have a rockettastic week 👍
I am also glad that the 4th is behind us- too much noise!
Lucy: We understand. It wasn’t good here either for several days, with either fireworks or thunder going on every night.
Xena: I pretended I was scared so I could sleep in the big bed every night.
Chia: Liar! You sleep in the big bed almost every night anyhow!
Riley: I NEVER get to sleep in the big bed, so you two little punk better be quiet.
Chia: *shaking* Yes sir.
We used to have a professionally set up fireworks in front of our house…but those peeps have moved out…phew! Our village didn’t have a display either, and at 8 miles away, we could hardly here the big show at the airport. So we got off easy, too. There were just a few local boomers. Maybe they were worried about stetting off fires in our drought stricken region. Glad you all came through without too many boomers. Thunder can be horrifyingly scary too…once our Angel Groucho jumped behind the hutch in the dining room, and when he came out after the… Read more »
It’s always good when fireworks season is over!
I know one Boomer you absolutely adore, Brian — and that is your Daddy! Believe it or not he is a Baby Boomer even though he’s not a baby anymore. Likely your Mom’s a Boomer, too. So when it’s too noisy outside, just snuggle up to Mom and Dad.
I am glad the worst of the season is over. Hopefully you can relax now.
We had very little in the way of fireworks this year, and it’s curious. I’m glad it’s over for a while, for all of us.
A mis perritas tambien les afectan los fuegos artificiales y las tormentas. Ojala que todos esten bien. Les deseo un buen fin de semana.
We had some booms here but nothing wild. It did sound like bikini girl’s family was shooting some right under our window but we were scared cos of fire.
