Hello everyone, I hope y’all are doing okay on this fine Monday. It’s sure hard to believe that this is the last day of July, already! Before you know it Summer will be gone and we will be talking about chilly temperatures. Now that’s hard to believe, especially since it’s been so darn hot. We must be having fun though because time sure is flying by.
Hey, about that title of this post, it really was an amazing wrestling match here on Saturday evening. I’ll bet you think I’m talking about two of the kitties wrestling. Nope, it wasn’t the kitties at all, this time it was the Dad. Saturday evening we had a horrendous wind storm pop-up along with some thunder boomers too. The wind was really, really wicked.
Y’all l know that we have deck umbrellas set up on the deck for our ferals. All of a sudden one of the umbrellas went crashing down and a big bang and rumble was heard. Dad had to go out and put the umbrella down so nothing would be damaged and the ferals wouldn’t be hurt. The wind was really blowing and the umbrella didn’t want to go down. Dad had his arms wrapped around it, they were dancing, and finally Dad won the match and the umbrella was down and safe once again. It was pretty wild out there for a while, thankfully there wasn’t any lightning around until a bit later.
Okay, that is it for now. Y’all take care and always remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

we agree… summer war with us only for a super short while… maybe we will get a fall summer this year?
That sounds like a lot of excitement for your dad and for all you spectators! We haven’t really had a summer this year, cool and very wet.
Isn’t Dad a hero?! We have a very lousy summer weather here…just rain and rain and more rain…
The weather shows us what it can do.
That sounds like a pretty frightening wrestling match. We’re glad your Dad won and nobody was injured.
Purrs,
the Chans
Those umbrellas are causing lots of trouble this year, but it sounds like they are really important so I guess they can get away with it.
A smile maker about the umbrellas getting away with it.
Brian, whoa, what an event that was for your dad. Don’t need too many of that again. And here we get a 5 minute rain with too much thunder. Just last eve, Precious gave me legs as usual and within 30 minutes, here came a blow down and off she went UTB.
You know, this is a true thing I will write here…I actually thought about you all’s umbrellas the other day (the story you told us about the ferals and the umbrellas stuck in my mind)when we had the same horrible windstorm and lightning and thunder. Our huge trash bins were blown over. I was concerned about things on the deck when I remembered your umbrellas and grateful I didn’t have to deal with those here. Strange how a memory will kick in.
while reading and seeing in my mind the wrestling match i had my question ready to type, was their lightning? you answered that. we had wind and huge strikes last evening and not one single drop of rain. one bolt hit something behind our house that made the non barking Beau Bark like crazy and shook the rafters of our house. Glad you are all safe and the umbrellas are saved and not ferals were harmed and that dad survived the wrestling match
Brian, your dad is a cat god; he will do anything to take care of the felines in his charge.
Glad your dad won that fight, Brian! Those umbrellas can be feisty!
You’re right, Brian, I thought it was a kitty wrestling match! Your mom could have taken a video of your dad and the umbrella and posted it…I’ll bet it would have been highly entertaining! 😀
Glad to hear your Dad won the umbrella battle!
Good thing he did not fly off like Mary Poppins!!!!!! MOL!
Hope the sun comes back so you can bask in it 😉 MOL!
Purrs, Julie
We had some rumbles of thunder and lightening over the weekend. I can’t say if I remember if it was windy, though. I’m tired of all the rain making it impossible to stay ahead of the yard work. I need to hire a herd of goats to move onto our property to keep this place mowed back. 🙂 I’m glad y’all are okay and so are the feral kitties. Have a boogietastic week, Brian!
WOW! I’m glad your Dad didn’t get hurt wrestling with the umbrella!!
The storm came up so suddenly here that I didn’t have a chance to move my chair (and table) inside Sam’s work shed. Luckily the wind didn’t blow it around as I had it leaning against the wall of the shed. We had a few small limbs fall out of the trees, but no damage.
You have a great Dad. He always does what he can to care y’all and the ferals, too. Give him extra purrs today.
Too bad your mom didn’t get that wrestling action on video. It would have been better than a WWE weekend match. BOL!
That sounds like quite the fight. I am glad your dad won. XO
Dad to the rescue. Dad’s take care of so many things to make our lives easier.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥
Java Bean: “Ayyy, that sounds like one of the Lucha Libre matches I used to see when I lived in Baja!”
Wow, exciting times, Brian! So glad your Dad was able to prevail! Summer has flown by for us, too.
It’s a pity you kitties couldn’t film Dad wrestling with the deck umbrella (mol). That would have been a sight!
That sounds scary for your dad. Glad he is OK and that you’re all safe!
Your dad is a hero, Brian!
whew!! Thank goodness all of you and the Dad were safe! We had a horrible storm last week and we lost power for 20 hours. Wonder if it was the same storm?
I have an amazing monday!
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH my goodness too bad there are no photos it sounds like it was a real smack DOWN with Dad winning. Glad all are well
Hugs cecilia
How brave your dad was for going out in that dangerous storm to protect your ferals from that umbrella.
Your Dad is a man of many talents, Brian, and he’s just added Umbrella Wrestler to the list.
I hope those umbrellas have learned their lesson, once and feral.
Oh brave Dad rescuing the ferals ~ cute photo of you sweet kitty ~ Xo
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
A ShutterBug Explores,

Whew!! That does sound like quite the wrestling match! We are glad your
Dad won, and everyone(and kitty) was safe from those umbrellas!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
Oh, my! I sure expected a different pair of wrestlers. ~grin~ Be safe, my dears!
Oh dear I hope the weather is better today sounded horrendous weather can be horrid sometimes glad dad saved the day 🙂
Have a calmtastic Monday 👍
Was your dad and the umbrella doing a tango, or maybe a foxtrot? Whichever, we hope your dad was leading, BOL!
Your Dad was very brave to go out in that wind. We had a big wind and thunderstorm blow through last night, and NONE of us wanted to go out in it. Lots of trees down today, but luckily none on our property.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Wow, that sounds like quite the wrestling match for Dad. Glad it all worked out.
We’re glad no one got hurt in the big windstorm – especially not Dad !
Your dad saved the day!!! We say good riddance to summer. After a month of heat, humidity, and rain, we’re getting a reprieve in the form of a fall preview and LOVING it!
So far on weather news, I haven’t heard of any chilly temps.
Coffee is on, and stay safe.
That’s an adventure i’m sure your Dad doesn’t want to have too often!
Espero que esten bien y que la lluvia no sigua haciendo daño. Genial foto. Les mando un beso.
I am glad your dad didn’t get blown away
In the midst of all the heat today, there were definitely a few breezes hinting at cooler weather around here today.
You can never trust those umbrellas! We’re glad your Dad survived!
A photo of your Dad wrestling with the umbrella would have been fun to see….glad you had a front row seat BUT bad storms are truly scary. Glad your Dad won the umbrella war!
Hugs, Teddy
Oh this summer has been something for wild and wicked storms. I hope everyone is ok and your dad is sure brace battling the storm. It shows his kind heart and your mom brushing you at every chance. You are all so very loved. Makes my heart happy.
I think everywhere you go you find storms and more rain or wind and wicked noisy rainstorms. We are grateful we think our power should stay on. The energy company decided our block needed to be in the 21st century! Hurrah! They even have something to help prevent wildlife from falling. You know those crazy squirrels will go as high in the sky as they can. Then laugh at us when they come down again. I hope you get good naps and lots of sweet dreams. Have a beautiful day.
I wonder if his outside camera caught the big match. We heard August was going to be cooler but the heat would return in Sept.
MOL that sound almost the same story as Granny’s, Brian, including the umbrella…MOL…We hope the weather will change soon again, this Summer was to short otherwise. Extra Pawkisses for all of you🐾😽💞
